"Shot 'Em" by [Q]Brick hit and the crowd gave a mixed reaction as The Young Bucks made their way to the ring.
Joey Styles: Welcome to the Destiny pre-show! Up next, we've got The Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson making their EBWF debut as they take on Matt Sydal and Mark Andrews!
Corey Graves: I can't wait to see these four high fliers in action, Joey!
Once The Young Bucks had entered the ring, "A House That's Not Quite Home" by Junior hit and Mark Andrews headed to the ring. "Basket Case (Instrumental) by Green Day hit and Sydal joined Andrews in the ring. The referee called for the bell and Sydal and Matt Jackson moved onto the ring apron, allowing Nick Jackson and Mark Andrews to start the match. Andrews ran at Nick, going for a clothesline, but Nick ducked out of the way, then as Andrews turned around, Nick hit a hip toss. Andrews got to his feet and Nick whipped him against the ropes, before hitting a dropkick. Both men got to their feet and Nick hit a DDT, then tagged in Matt. Matt entered the ring and grabbed Andrews, hitting a corkscrew neckbreaker onto Nick's knee. As Nick exited the ring, Matt Jackson hooked the leg. The referee counted – 1... 2... kickout!
Joey Styles: A strong start by the Young Bucks!
Matt pulled Andrews to his feet and whipped him against the ropes, before hitting a leg lariat. Both men got to their feet and Matt hit a hurricanrana, rolling Andrews up. The referee counted – 1... 2... kickout! The two men got to their feet once more and Matt went for a suplex, but Andrews blocked it, countering with a suplex of his own. As Matt got to his feet, Andrews hit a spinning heel kick, then tagged in Matt Sydal. Sydal went to the top rope, hitting a diving crossbody on Matt, then made the cover. The referee counted – 1... 2... kickout!
Corey Graves: Another near fall! Can Sydal and Andrews build some momentum?
Sydal and Matt got to their feet and Sydal hit an enzuigiri, then set Matt up for the Here We Go Driver. Matt blocked it, then went to counter with a northern lights suplex, but Sydal hit him with a lifting DDT. Sydal went for a standing moonsault, but Matt got his knees up and blocked it! Matt crawled towards the corner, tagging in his brother Nick. Nick springboarded off the top rope, hitting Sydal with a tornado DDT. Nick ran at Mark Andrews, knocking him off the ring apron, then turned his attention back to Sydal, who was looking dazed. Nick signalled to his brother Matt, who re-entered the ring and waited for Sydal to get to his feet. When Sydal was up, The Young Bucks hit him with a double superkick! Nick hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... 3!
Joey Styles: It's over! The Young Bucks mark their EBWF debut with a victory!
Matt and Nick Jackson celebrated, then made their way to the back.
MATCH ONE
A fireworks display opened up the PPV as the camera flashed to the titantron and then over to Corey Graves and Joey Styles standing up at their commentary table.
Joey Styles: Hello everyone and welcome to EBWF Destiny! We have a great card for you tonight!
Corey Graves: Jimmy Havoc defends his EBWF Breakout Championship, The Broken collides as Baron Corbin and Seth Rollins compete for the EBWF Intercontinental Championship!
Joey Styles: PJ Black defends his PTG Championship against The Miz and Sami Zayn and our Main Event of the evening between AJ Styles and Chris Jericho for the EBWF World Championship!
Corey Graves: But first! We’re going down to the ring for our first match-up of the evening. Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus!
Sheamus was already in the ring when ‘Trenches’ by Pop Evil blasted through the PA System and Roman Reigns made his way to the ring to a chorus of boos. Roman smiled and allowed the boos to continue. When Roman was in the ring, Sheamus got into his face and shouted loudly in Gaelic. Roman smirked and hit Sheamus with an uppercut as the referee called for the bell to get the match underway. Roman punched Sheamus again as Sheamus fell into the corner, which Roman used to clothesline Sheamus multiple times into.
Corey Graves: What a start here by Roman Reigns! Sheamus was talking smack and got what was coming to him!
Sheamus eventually reversed a clothesline and ducked away, Reigns followed him but was met with a kick to the gut and a club to the back. Roman fell to the ground and Sheamus picked Reigns up for a deadlift powerbomb. Sheamus covered but only for a 2 count. Sheamus continued the onslaught as he stomped on Reigns a few times and eventually picked him up. He Irish whipped Reigns into the corner and followed up with a low spear into the corner, Reigns was visibily hurting as Sheamus stood on the second rope and laid punches into the top of Reigns’ head. After a few punches Reigns sparked into life and grabbed Sheamus into a powerbomb of his own.
Joey Styles: It looks like Roman has got some life back into him!
As Sheamus laid flat on the floor, Reigns walked to a corner and cocked his fist signalling for the Superman Punch. Sheamus stood up, Reigns ran and hit him with a huge Superman Punch! Cover!

Reigns was beside himself but got back up and walked back to the corner, this time signalling for the Spear, Sheamus got up…Reigns ran! Dodged by Sheamus! Reigns rebounds off the ropes! SHEAMUS GOES FOR THE BROGUE KICK! Reigns Dodges! SPEAR!

Corey Graves: It’s all over! Add another huge victory for Roman Reigns for the record.
Reigns posed as the PPV cut to commercial.
Joey Styles: Well up next, we've got two superstars competing who have both made a tremendous start to their EBWF careers. Timothy Thatcher is undefeated since signing for the EBWF, but tonight he goes up against the leader of The Broken, Jimmy Havoc. Who will walk out of Houston with the Breakout Title!
Corey Graves: I can't wait to see these two go at it, Joey. This won't be a wrestling match, it will be a fight!
"Spitfire" by The Prodigy hit and Thatcher came out to a mixed reaction from the crowd. When Thatcher had entered the ring, "The Broken" by Lit hit, and the crowd booed as Jimmy Havoc stepped out onto the stage. Once Havoc was in the ring, he held up the Breakout Title, then handed it to the referee, who held it in the air once more before calling for the bell. Havoc swung a right hand at Thatcher, trying to catch him off guard, but Thatcher reacted quickly and blocked it, then took Havoc down to the mat and applied the Fujiwara armbar! Havoc cried out in pain, but he was able to reach the ropes.
Joey Styles: Oh my god! This match could have been over in a matter of seconds!
Havoc seemed to realise that, and as Thatcher broke the hold, the Breakout Champion exited the ring. Thatcher challenged Havoc to get back in the ring, and Havoc walked up the ring steps... but then jumped down, causing the crowd to boo. Havoc laughed, then challenged Thatcher to join him outside the ring. Thatcher obliged, rolling out of the ring, but as he turned to face Havoc, Havoc hit him with a knee to the midsection. Havoc then slammed Thatcher's head against the steel steps, before hitting a DDT outside the ring. The referee was counting both men out, and Havoc re-entered the ring at the count of 5.
Corey Graves: This could be it now Joey, unless Thatcher can recover before the referee reaches the ten count!
The referee continued counting, but as he got to 8, Thatcher got to his feet, and rolled back into the ring as the referee counted 9. Havoc stomped on Thatcher several times, trying to keep him grounded, but Thatcher grabbed his foot, then applied a double leg takedown and punched Havoc against the mat several times. Thatcher pulled Havoc to his feet and whipped him against the ropes, before hitting a hip toss. Havoc got to his feet and Thatcher lifted him up for a back drop, transitioning it into a European uppercut. He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... kickout! Thatcher pulled Havoc to his feet and set him up for a double underhook suplex, but Havoc blocked it, countering with a back body drop. As Thatcher got to his feet, Havoc whipped him into the corner, then ran at him, hitting a corner clothesline. Thatcher staggered out of the corner and Havoc hit a discus elbow smash, before going to the top rope and hitting a diving double foot stomp. He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... kickout!
Joey Styles: So close to a three count!
Havoc sat Thatcher up and applied a sleeper hold, but Thatcher broke out of it and both men got to their feet. Thatcher and Havoc exchanged right hands back and forth, but Thatcher was able to overpower Havoc and after hitting a kick to the midsection, he lifted Havoc up for a gut wrench suplex. Thatcher went to apply an STF, but Havoc rolled out of it, then hit Thatcher with a kick to the head. Thatcher looked dazed, and Havoc got to his feet, applying a wrist lock then transitioning it into the Acid Rainmaker! Havoc hooked the leg once more – 1... 2... kickout!
Corey Graves: It's over! Another impressive performance from Timothy Thatcher, but it wasn't enough and the Breakout Title will stay with The Broken!
The referee called for the bell and raised Havoc's arm in victory. Havoc smiled sadistically before making his way to the back, clutching his title as he walked up the ramp.
Joey Styles: Up next, we have a fatal four way to determine the new number one contender for the Women's Title!
Carmella came to the ring first, followed by Charlotte, Eva Marie, and finally, Velvet Sky. When all four women had entered the ring, the referee called for the bell. Carmella locked up with Charlotte, while Eva went after Velvet. Charlotte applied a headlock on Carmella, but Carmella broke out of it, countering with a reverse DDT. Across the ring, Eva took Velvet down with a clothesline and stomped on her several times, before kicking her out of the ring. Eva then turned her attention to Carmella, who challenged the Red Queen to come at her. Eva ran at Carmella, but Carmella reacted quickly, hitting a dropkick. Both women got to their feet and Carmella went for a big boot, but Eva ducked out of the way, rolling Carmella up with a schoolgirl. The referee counted – 1... 2... kickout!
Joey Styles: Eva almost stole one!
Corey Graves: Clever strategy from the beautiful redhead to catch Carmella off guard!
As Eva and Carmella got to their feet, Charlotte grabbed Carmella, hitting her with a swinging neckbreaker. She then turned her attention to Eva, whipping the Red Queen against the ropes then taking her down with an arm drag. Charlotte grabbed the legs, going to apply the Figure Eight, but before she could do so, Velvet re-entered the ring and grabbed Charlotte, throwing her into the ring post. Charlotte's shoulder collided with the ring post and she fell to the mat, clutching her shoulder in pain. Velvet then went to grab Eva, but Eva grabbed her, rolling her up with a small package. The referee counted – 1... 2... kickout!
Joey Styles: And again Eva Marie gets a two count!
Corey Graves: This is brilliant, Joey! She's outsmarting all of her opponents!
Eva and Velvet got to their feet, and Velvet hit Eva with a snapmare, then hit a shoot kick to the back of Eva's head. Velvet pulled Eva to her feet and whipped her against the ropes, then ran at her, clotheslining her over the top rope. At this point, Carmella got to her feet and she grabbed Velvet from behind, hitting her with a back drop. Carmella then applied the Code of Silence on Velvet! Velvet tried to reach the ropes, but wasn't able to do so and she tapped out. As Carmella broke the hold, the referee called for the bell.
Joey Styles: It's over! Carmella is the new number one contender for the Women's Title!
Baron Corbin made his way to the ring for the Intercontinental Title Match.
Joey Styles: Tonight we’ll see two members of The Broken go one on one for the prestigious EBWF Intercontinental Championship.
Corey Graves: Jimmy Havoc certainly sees a lot in Corbin, it will be interesting to see what he can do here tonight.
The Intercontinental Champion came to the ring to a chorus of boos and after the IC Championship was presented for contention the bell rang. Rollins tried to go for the leg early on, and Corbin missed a dropkick but came right back in. Rollins went for a bunch offense but got nailed by a big right hand. Corbin unloaded now. Fans tried to get a defiant chant going for Rollins but Corbin brushed them off and kept Rollins down. Rollins fought back and slid Corbin to the floor. He ran right back in with a huge clothesline for a 2 count.
Joey Styles: The IC Championship is staying with The Broken tonight, but Seth Rollins is trying to keep it around his waist here.
Corbin kept grounded now. Rollins fought up and out but got dropped into the rope. Corbin came back with more lefts, rights and boots on Rollins. Corbin talked some trash now. Corbin dropped Rollins with a right hand. Corbin posed to boos, and talked more trash toward the crowd. Rollins fought back with strikes and headbutts. Rollins unloaded, hit the splash in the corner and a neckbreaker. Corbin ended up blocking the flying high knee and then nailing a close 2 count.
Corey Graves: Corbin almost had one there!
Rollins nailed the neck breaker this time but only for 2. Rollins tried to go for the Reverse STO, but Corbin ducked and rolled to the floor. Rollins ran around, slipped on the steel steps and Corbin dropped him on the floor with Deep Six. Rollins barely made it back in the ring before the 10 count. Both were down in the ring now. Corbin got up and worked Rollins over. Corbin stood tall and got some boos. Rollins hit a small package driver, and Corbin kicked out at two. Rollins stomped away on Corbin’s head, and then Rollins made his way to the top rope. Corbin crotched him, and followed up with a fury of elbows. Rollins fought off a superplex but Corbin didn’t let go, bringing Seth down to the mat. Corbin hit the End of Days and took the pin!
Joey Styles: It’s over! We have a brand new EBWF Intercontinental Champion!
Corey Graves: Baron Corbin! What does this mean for The Broken, Joey?
Corbin was awarded the championship and held it above his head as a promo for the next match began to play.
“Awwwweeesssoooommmmmeeee!” The Miz came to the ring accompanied by Alex Riley, and the EBWF Universe rewarded them with a chorus of boos. Alex kept taunting the crowd, but The Miz came down to the ring as though he didn’t even had them. Instead, exuding confidence.
Joey Styles: The Miz here tonight in Triple Threat action.
Corey Graves: Miz and Sami Zayn will both be working tonight to see if they can end the 9 month long title reign of PJ Black.
“Worlds Apart” brought the crowd alive, and fan favorite, Sami Zayn made his way to the ring.
Corey Graves: This crowd is loving Sami Zayn! I bet they’d love to him take home the gold tonight.
Zayn entered the ring, and PJ Black’s music hit. The crowd booed the long-time champ as he showed off his championship.
Joey Styles: The EBWF Universe would like to see PJ Black cash that title in for a World Championship Opportunity, Corey.
Corey Graves: I think PJ Black is brilliant! He can do this on his own time!
Zayn went in early for a clothesline but that was prevented leading to a slingshot into the corner. Zayn had Miz in the air for a press slam, but Black hit a dropkick for two.
Corey Graves: This match is going to move fast!
A quick series of kicks and roll-ups, and Black was hitting a leaping DDT on both guys at the same time. The momentum continued for Black as he hit a neckbreaker on Zayn at the same time as a DDT on Miz. Alex Riley was freaking out at ringside, which caused the crowd to boo.
Joey Styles: Riley is trying to rally Miz here.
PJ Black hit a DDT on Miz, and went for the pin. Riley reached in and put Miz foot on the rope, breaking up the count. PJ Black countered with an amazing rollup, but Zayn got a boot to the face of Black busting up the attempt. Sami Zayn went for a sunset flip on Miz, but Miz held the ropes. Black gave Zayn a slingshot into the groin of Miz. Miz fell to his knees, and PJ Black mocked Miz by locking on the Figure Four Leglock on Miz. Zayn broke it up with a double foot stomp to Black's stomach. Miz hit a corner clothesline on Zayn, and went up top, jumped off and Zayn destroyed him with a Helluva Kick!
Corey Graves: Did you see that! What a move from Zayn!
Alex Riley hopped up on the ring apron to try to distract Sami, but Zayn knocked him off with a punch and that allowed Black to hit a Black Diamond on Zayn. Miz tried to sneak up on Black, but walked into Black to the Future.
Joey Styles: Unbelievable!
Black went to the top rope for the 450 Splash! PJ Black recovered quickly for the pin and took the 1..2..3!
Corey Graves: PJ Black has done it! He has retained the Path to Glory Championship!
Joey Styles: Still to come, Chris Jericho takes on AJ Styles for the EBWF World Title... up first though, Sasha Banks defends the Women's Title against Alexa Bliss in a Wrestlemania rematch!
Alexa Bliss came to the ring first, followed by Sasha Banks. Once both women were in the ring, the referee called for the bell. Sasha and Alexa locked up, and Alexa went for a hammerlock, but Sasha fought out of it, then whipped Alexa against the ropes. As Alexa ran back towards her, Sasha hit a dropkick. Both women got to their feet, and Sasha picked Alexa up, hitting a backbreaker before lifting her up once more and carrying her towards the corner, placing Alexa between the top and second ropes. Sasha then climbed the turnbuckle, hitting a diving double knee drop. Sasha rolled Alexa away from the ropes, and hooked the leg. The referee counted – 1... 2... kickout!
Corey Graves: A strong start from Sasha Banks! She's taking the fight to Alexa Bliss!
Sasha applied a chinlock on Alexa, but Alexa was able to fight out of it, and as both women got to their feet, Alexa hit Sasha with an elbow smash. Alexa grabbed Sasha, whipping her into the corner, then ran at Sasha and hit a dropkick. Sasha staggered out of the corner, and Alexa took her down with a snapmare, then went to the top rope. Alexa went for the Twisted Bliss... but Sasha rolled out of the way!
Joey Styles: That could have been it right there!
Corey Graves: Quick reflexes there from Sasha to roll out of the way!
As Alexa got to her feet, Sasha threw her into the corner, then hit her with a series of kicks. Sasha stepped back and charged at Alexa once more, this time hitting a high knee. Alexa looked dazed, and Sasha sat her up on the top rope, then hit a superplex! She hooked the keg and the referee counted – 1... 2... kickout!
Corey Graves: So close to a three count!
Joey Styles: How much does Alexa have left in the tank?
Sasha pulled Alexa to her feet and whipped her against the ropes, then went for a clothesline. Alexa ducked underneath it, then grabbed Sasha from behind, taking her down with a Russian legsweep. She then hit the Glitz Flip, before hooking the leg. The referee counted – 1... 2... kickout! Alexa then went for the keylock, but before she could lock it in, Sasha broke the hold and got to her feet. Alexa lifted Sasha up for a scoop slam, but Sasha countered with a headscissors takedown, then as both women got to their feet, Sasha hit a roundhouse kick. Once more, Alexa looked dazed, and Sasha got behind her, hitting a double knee backbreaker before rolling into the Bank Statement! Alexa tried to reach the ropes, but wasn't able to do so, and she tapped out. The referee called for the bell as Sasha broke the hold and got to her feet.
Joey Styles: It's over! Sasha Banks retains the title!
Corey Graves: Sasha just reminded everyone why she calls herself "The Boss", Joey!
Corey Graves: It’s time for the main event!
Joey Styles: At Summerslam, AJ Styles shocked the world when he returned and tonight he has a chance to take on our defending world champion.
“Phenomenal” brought the crowd to their feet, and AJ Styles came to the stage area. He stopped, putting his gloved hands together to compete the P1 Logo.
Corey Graves: And there he is, the Phenomenal One, AJ Styles.
Joey Styles: It’s good to see him back.
“Break the Walls Down” hit the PA and the EBWF World Champion, Chris Jericho made his way to the ring.
Christy Hemme: This match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, weighing in at 227 pounds, he is the EBWF World Champion… Chris. Jerichooooooooo!
Boos from the crowd as Jericho handed the championship over to the referee.
Christy Hemme: And his opponent, from Atlanta, Georgia, weighing in at 218 pounds he is A.J. Styyyllllleeeeees!
The crowd was pumped up for this match from the start. Styles sent Jericho out of the ring with a clothesline over the top. Styles nailed a springboard dropkick, which was reminiscent of Jericho’s own move.
Corey Graves: Styles taking one out of the Jericho playbook there!
Jericho was able to take control with a dropkick to counter a Styles attack on the floor. Jericho did his cocky pin with the “c’mon baby” yell. Then the “ask him” chinlock. Styles came back with a running forearm. Styles at the mat and Jericho followed up with the Walls of Jericho.
Joey Styles: Jericho trying to end it early here!
Corey Graves: AJ Styles can’t beat Chris Jericho. Chris Jericho is the greatest World Champion in EBWF History!
Styles struggled, but got to the ropes. Styles with a moonsault into a reverse DDT.
Joey Styles: Beautiful! Did you see that?
Styles shoved Jericho into the second turnbuckle followed by Styles hitting a front suplex off the top rope. Pele Kick by Styles was caught by Jericho leading to the Walls of Jericho.
Corey Graves: What a counter!
Styles broke free, and he applied his Calf Crusher submission, but Jericho fought out of it. Styles went for a Styles Clash, Jericho got out of it and then Styles went for a springboard attack. He jumped off the ropes, Jericho moved and countered with the Codebreaker. The crowd had lost all traces of good guy bad guy, showing respect for the intense back and forth wrestling.
Corey Graves: These guys are giving it everything!
Joey Styles: Match of the year contender for sure.
Jericho made a slow cover, and Styles managed to kick out at two and a half. Styles came back with a suplex into a face first slam for two. When Jericho got to his feet, Styles hit a hurricanrana. He went for a Styles Clash! Styles went for the pin.

Jericho tried to follow up with a Lionsault, but Styles got his knees up to counter. Jericho rolled on his side in pain, but fought to stumble up, right into another Styles Clash.

Corey Graves: What?!
Joey Styles: Is this… this is real! AJ Styles! AJ Styles is going to Fanniversary our new EBWF World Champion!
Styles was awarded the EBWF Championship as “Phenomenal” played throughout the arena, and Destiny went off the air.
