Don't want to talk about it

Post by Ian B »

Scene opens on Michael Cole sat on a couch. He is wearing dark gray shirt and purple tie.

Cole: I'm joined at this time by EBWF Intercontinental champion Baron Corbin. Baron, how are things?

The scene pans out to show Corbin sat opposite wearing a vintage Guns N Roses tee and dark jeans. He has the intercontinental title over his shoulder. Corbin is not wearing his signature scowl, he looks like he needs a good nights sleep & his voice has very little energy.

Corbin: Things are not well with me this week I'm afraid

Cole: You're on a bit a roll right now. By my standards that means things can't be that bad, right?

Corbin: True, I am on a roll right now but if you look at my win streak, if you look at the circumstance then you'll realize that it's not as rosy in reality as it is on paper. I need to put something out there before awkward questions put me in the wrong sort of mindset to be interviewed. we wouldn't want me walking out of this interview, right? There are points that will not be discussed this week. The state of The Broken is not something I want to talk about. Jimmy, Seth, Miss Bates. None of these are good topics right now. No, there are things at work that are out of my control so I'm going to focus on the things I can.

Cole: Okay, this week on Warfare you are facing Matt Sydal. You have faced Matt before, how are you feeling about this contest?

A grin crosses Corbin's face. His voice gains a bit of energy

Corbin: Excellent! If there's anything that is likely to improve my mood it's throwing around a person who pretty much beats himself with that dumb tumbler crap. Being self destructive is a subject I've become aware of in recently but that's outside of the ring and another point that won't be brought up for the good of everyone

Cole: Anything you'd like to say to your opponent?

Corbin: Matt, I have a request tonight, please. Let's fight! I want to square up with you, go toe to toe. None of this flipping, no fancy dives just two men in a brawl. I don't want to risk you hurting yourself more than you already have Matt. I want to be responsible for breaking your back beyond repair. I want to make sure I finish you off. Holding this title...

Baron turns his head to look at the belt on his shoulder

Corbin: ...Is something I'm proud of. But putting Sydal out of the business - driving him to the point that even Uncle Sean's miracle cure won't help him. That would be something to take pride in. Something they can't take away from me.

Cole: Uncle Sean?

Corbin: Sean Morley, the Captain. You know this one Cole?

Cole shrugs in a non committing way

Corbin: If not then you're probably better off not knowing. Actually, ask Sydal. I'm sure he'll tell you all about it.

Cole: I'm not certain this is the most pressing matter for us to discuss

Corbin: You know what Cole? I don't know what you want from me. This interview is supposed to make me look good, give me a shine but you're stepping on my flow. That isn't wise! I'm going to crush Matt Sydal, I'm going to introduce him to End of Days but you know what? Michael Cole, as I smash his face against the mat, I want you to imagine that it's you being ruined. Imagine the pain he will feel or maybe the lack of sensation. Not just you Cole, anyone who is watching this interview - I want you to think about it. If you're someone who wants to grow up to be in this industry I appeal to you - learn to fight like me and not like that gimp Sydal. I'm done Cole! Cut the feed.

Corbin storms off
