Blood & Mercy

Post by Will »

The Lotte New York Palace was very impressive. It embraced an elegance that reflected the ambiance of the world's finest hotels. It exemplified a magnificent style of living. It's grandeur reflected a life well lived. If you're there then you knew you had made it. This was the kind of luxury that very few people were used to. And there sat AJ Styles on the edge of his enormous bed which was within a room that was just as massive. It was the kind of place most people could fit their entire houses into. An amazing room on near the top floor that had a breath taking view of the New York area. Styles couldn't help but grin at all of this. He hadn't changed anything about himself to accommodate his lavish surroundings. He was still dressed in his familiar bummy sort of clothing. Rising from the bed he stepped over to his television and turned his sight upwards. He had made one of the hotel workers carefully hang his EBWF World title above it with delicate care. He nodded in approval at the sight before turning to the camera.

AJ Styles: You know this isn't really my kind of place. So you might be asking yourself exactly why I'm here. It's simple really. I'm here because I'm better than most people. They might not want to admit it but they know it's true. I'm here because I'm part of a very exclusive club. I'm a wrestling mega star and only stars get the right to stay here. I currently hold the EBWF World Championship. Or as I like to call it, The Championship of Championships. I guess that makes me the Champion of Champions. The only Champion that matters. Hear that Jimmy Havoc? You're irrelevant.

He gave a glance to his Title once more and admired it's sparkling presence. Of course he had it shined up nice.

AJ Styles: So while you're going to see someone like me here you aren't going to find Jimmy Havoc anywhere. And it doesn't matter how high or low you look. Jimmy Havoc isn't allowed in. And Jimmy Havoc isn't here because he isn't good enough to be a World Champion and he certainly isn't good enough to take mine away from me. See I could care less about being in a place like this but i know Jimmy would slit his mothers wrist to be where I am right now. I've seen those scary little outfits he likes to wear and the blood and gore. But he is, for lack of a better term, a wolf in sheep's clothing. He tries his best to look the part but deep down he just can't hack it at this level. It's reality. And everyone should remember that this reality check I'm giving him is something he begged for. He targeted me and he targeted my championship. The championship that is as much as part of me as the skin on my body. I'm not going try to talk him out of it. I'm not going to tell him to go after someone else. I invite him to the ass beating of a lifetime on Christmas Eve.

Styles smirked and held up his palms as if to display some form of innocence. His confidence seemed to be at an all time high which is a key component to a victory in any competition.

AJ Styles: And as I've made very clear, we all know I'm better than Jimmy Havoc. But for those of you keeping score at home I want to prove it in every aspect. The head honchos around here are always telling me 'You're one of our biggest names, Styles. You need to do more mainstream work so we can broadcast you to a larger audience'. But I've never had any desire to do that. I'm not an entertainer. I'm a wrestler. And I am the last of a dying breed. But this is Christmas Eve of Destruction and the wrestling really goes out the window at this event. So while Havoc is surrounding himself with D-List superstars like Baron Corbin, I went out and found someone who knows about fighting for everything in this business. Someone who knows what it's like to be a champion. And someone who loves pro wrestling just like me.

Stepping into the other side of his room, which was almost like a home altogether, he took a seat on a large couch. Sitting beside him was the recently former EBWF Tag Team Champion: Seth Rollins. Rollins was dressed in a black jogging outfit with his hair in a ponytail. He grinned to Styles as they shook hands, the infamous smirk on Rollins face was impossible to miss.

AJ Styles: Seth Rollins, a man who was apart of the dominant faction know as The Shield. In his career he has wrestled for every top promotion in the world and has held some of the top championships but as everyone know the only accolades that really matter are the ones that happen right here in the EBWF and even though Seth hasn't ever held this World Championship, he is without a shadow of a doubt a far better competitor than Jimmy Havoc is.

Seth Rollins: You forgot to mention that I was the best wrestler in The Broken. A group I was clearly too good for. Jimmy Havoc would not have made it this far without me. I'm the only reason he was a Breakout, IC, and Tag Team Champion. He would be NOTHING without me.

He spoke in a very menacing voice.

AJ Styles: Of course. I couldn't agree more. Now you've been wrestling for a while, right? But have you ever been apart of a TLC4 match?

Seth Rollins: What the hell is that?

AJ Styles: Remember when you and Dean Ambrose hijacked WrestleMania 12?

Seth Rollins: How could I forget?

AJ Styles: Who doesn't? It was amazing and no one has ever out done it. The moment the WresleMania sign blew up and went ablaze it was beautiful. I don't know if you used C4 but that what I'll be doing to Jimmy Havoc. Blowing his ass up and sending him crashing to a fiery doom and since you're going to be in attendance Sunday night, you will get to see me use it on Jimmy Havoc. What do you think about that? As his former partner, what's your analysis?

Seth Rollins: He's hardcore. But he isn't as brutal and vicious as you are. You're one of the greats. Jimmy Havoc is just a backyard wrestler who caught a massive fucking break. Tables, Ladders, and C4 are up his ally. He will give you a challenge but I feel though you will ultimately eat this man's heart.

AJ Styles: I would love to do that, Seth. As fun as it sounds. But I'm going to beat Jimmy Havoc so badly that people are going to swear I don't even have a heart.

Seth Rollins: Tear him apart, Champ.

Styles and Rollins shook hands once more as the unlikely duo are faded out.

Wearing suits ware not exactly AJ Styles' style anymore. He was once known for his lavish taste in clothing and on rare occasions there called for times when he needed to break one out. It was black and sleek with a red buttoned up shirt on underneath of the jacket and a dark colored tie to match. He resembled what the devil might look like if he took a human form. Where he was standing was dark and at this point it wasn't clear just what his surroundings were.

AJ Styles: I was once a very religious guy. Now, I don't really see the point of being a drone that serves something that neither lives nor breathes. I've always had a problem with the idea of my fate being in someone else's hands. But I understand that a lot of people just want something to believe in. They want to feel as though their faith will reward them with prosperity. Take for instance my opponent for this Saturday. Jimmy Havoc. Jimmy is a man who has faith he is going to take my World Title away from me. He has a lot of faith in himself and although I don't believe in any of that, I tolerate it. He probably feels as though his faith in himself allowed him to climb the ladder faster than others did. His faith allowed him to have enough courage to step up and take a shot at someone who is so out of his league that it's was pathetic. Jimmy Havoc, like so many others I've faced in the past, thinks he can get into my head by getting talking about my addiction to fucking divas or being the absolute best wrestler in the world. I guess he thinks that taking a few cheap shots on me is really going to get under my skin. Well, Jimmy, it does bother me but not in the way you might think. It bothers me because that instantly changes my view of you. You just went from a credible contender that I almost had a shred of respect for to an overpaid, emo indy curtain jerker in the span of just a few short seconds. All it did was make you look like most do. A complete and utter coward.

Those words were practically spat from his mouth, shaking his head in a display of contempt.

AJ Styles: You haven't even competed in a WrestleMania in front of 100,000 people and you think you can be a World champion? That might be funny if it wasn't so god damn pathetic. Oh. And another thing. That Zaharha chick isn't even hot.

The disgust was evident in both the tone of his voice and look on his face. With this sort of topic it was easy for him to go off on a tangent.

AJ Styles: So, seeing as how Jimmy had no problem trampling my achievements and mocking me. I guess I should do the same thing. But you see, that's something he would do and as I have said before, we are two very different people. You might want to shield your eyes. Or watch. I know you like this kinda shit. Because while you may not know it, this is the room where they perform the virgin sacrifices. All in the name of the dark lord himself. And I'm not talking about Undertaker.

The camera zoomed out to reveal an dark lit alter. Stepping over to the structure, Styles very carefully placed the World Title on the outer lining of the bowl. A small pocket knife is produced and he gives his palm a little prick. A few droplets of blood land on the inscription of the title, making a very noticeable effect on the gold plating. The title is soon held up.

AJ Styles: If you can beat me, Jimmy, not only will you have this but you will have a part of me as well. That only adds to my motivation. My motivation to make you second guess the next time you think about making me bleed. My motivation to make you curse the day the words 'I want the World Title' ever came out of your mouth. And my motivation to keep this title with me for a very, very long time. I won't give you or anyone else the satisfaction of carrying this around. You will have to kill me first. You are going to have to beat every last breath out of me. And I mean this with every ounce of strength I have in my body, I swear to you..

The eyes told the story here. They were dark and sharp. This title was going to be like an extra limb from this point on. Every cynic and every faultfinder would have their words crammed back down their throat.

AJ Styles: You're a good wrestler, Jimmy, but you're an amateur. Not really much of a surprise. Stick to your boring, name dropping promo's and leave the cerebral stuff to the pro's. Your inbred, loser loving fan base is going to get a real gift come Christmas Eve. You beat me once but I guarantee you that you will not do it again. Say your fucking prayers, Jimmy, because your God may show mercy but I won't.

The newly blood stained belt found it's way around his shoulder once more. The camera closed in on the sharply determined face of AJ Styles as it began to fade out. He was prepared to make a statement and Jimmy Havoc was going to be the unfortunate recipient.
