EBWF cameras managed to capture exclusive footage of Ted DiBiase addressing the crowd at Death Before Dishonor, here is a recap of what happened.
The crowd had just witnessed an amazing match and there were still more matches to come. Before the next match could begin "Bad Guys" by 3OH!3 blasted over the PA system and Ted DiBiase walked out to jeers and boos from the crowd.
Jim Ross: Ted isn't scheduled for a match tonight. I wonder why he's out here?
Ted dressed casually in a plain t-shirt and dark jeans. He entered the ring and then barked at a crew member at ringside to give him a microphone. After receiving the microphone he walked to the middle of the ring.
Ted Jr: I haven't been booked since Aftermath, why? Is it because I'm not good enough to get a match?
The crowd cheered.
Ted Jr: Is it because none of you want to see me?
The crowd cheered again, this time even louder than before.
Ted Jr: I'll tell you why. It's because there isn't a single person on the roster that wants to face me. Not Dean Ambrose, not AJ Styles, not John Cena.
The crowd popped at the mention of the Intercontinental Champion.
Ted Jr: After Death Before Dishonour is the King of the Ring tournament. Every male wrestler fighting to be named King. You all heard Syxx claim that he'd be King. I'm here to say that it won't be Syxx, it won't be anyone but me. I'll go through the whole roster to get a shot at the World Championship at Summerslam.
Jerry Lawler: Ted sounds very confident leading into the King of the Ring tournament.
The crowd booed at Ted, letting him know that he wasn't going to win.
Ted Jr: As for tonight, I'm issuing an open challenge to anyone on the roster. You think you can go toe to toe with me? You want to try and prove that you're better than me? Come out now!
Ted waited for a response. The crowd was on edge waiting for someone to answer his challenge. After a minute there had been no response.
Ted Jr: That's right, nobody has the guts to face me. Because I'll make you suffer in this ring. I can pin you, make you submit or beat you to the point where you have to run away. Since nobody on the roster wants to face me I'll allow one of you to enter this ring and take a beating.
Jim Ross: He can't do this, he can't take on a member of the crowd.
Jerry Lawler: Nobody on the roster wanted to face him and it looks like people in the crowd do.
Ted exited the ring and began to walk around the perimeter, with fans sticking their hands up in the air, volunteering to get in the ring with Ted. Ted had stopped just past the announce table and pointed into the crowd at a teenager. The teen looked to be only 18 years old, very skinny with glasses on.
Ted Jr: You.
The teenager was helped over the barricade as Ted entered the ring again. The teenager entered the ring through the bottom rope and stood before Ted.
Jim Ross: This kid has got a death wish, stepping into the ring with a former World Champion.
Jerry Lawler: Even you could beat this kid JR, haha.
Ted Jr: What's your name?
He moved the microphone towards the timid teenager so he could announce his name.
Teen: B-Brett
Ted Jr: Brett! Now what are we waiting for, lets get this started.
Ted stood waiting in the ring for a referee while Brett was standing in the corner. With Ted facing the stage, he didn't notice a figure leaping over the barricade near the announce table and entering the ring. Ted turned to make sure that Brett hasn't run off and was instantly floored with a stiff kick to the head. The figure was wearing a black ski mask.
Jim Ross: Who is that? Is that another member of The Shield?
Jerry Lawler: I don't think so, normally they're like a pack of dogs. They don't send one person, they send ten.
The mysterious man stood in the ring while Brett quickly scurried away. The man removed his mask and showed the world his identity.
Jim Ross: Oh My God! It's Daniel Bryan! It's Daniel Bryan!
The crowd cheered as they saw Bryan, who didn't react to them at all. He had shaved his long beard and looked determined. By now Ted was slowly gathering himself and he got to his knees. Bryan saw this and slowly approached DiBiase. A small group of people in the crowd began to chant.
Crowd: You're gonna get your fuckin' head kicked in! You're gonna get your fuckin' head kicked in!
Daniel Bryan lined up DiBiase and began to deliver swift, hard kicks to his chest.
Crowd: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5!
Bryan stopped kicking Ted's chest and then hit one final kick to Ted's head, sending Ted falling face first into the mat.
Jerry Lawler: Daniel Bryan kicked DiBiase's head off. I think he's out cold.
Daniel wasted no time and quickly locked in his signature submission hold, Cattle Mutilation.
Jim Ross: Ted can't defend himself here as Bryan has Cattle Mutilation locked in tight. He's going to injure DiBiase here.
Soon after referees ran to the ring to break the submission hold. Bryan held it in tight, not letting go for another 30 seconds before finally releasing. By now the crowd was ecstatic and cheering loudly for Daniel Bryan.
Jim Ross: Daniel Bryan is certainly a fan favourite tonight.
After releasing the hold, Daniel Bryan exited the ring and walked up the ramp and backstage without acknowledging the crowd at all.
Jerry Lawler: Daniel Bryan is all business tonight, effectively taking out Ted DiBiase.
Ted was being tended to by medical staff and referees as the cameras faded.
