Layla El had been in and out of in ring action over the last year. First returning as a pawn in The Miz' head games with AJ Styles. Then serving as the valet to the whacky duo of Kaientai. Now Layla was ready to get back in the ring full time, out on her own, with no male superstar by her side of crazy gimmick. That return would begin this coming Monday Night on Warfare, when she would team with Eve to face Portia/Nicole Matthews, as well as the Beautiful People Velvet Sky and Angelina Love. A tall order for a girl who'd never teamed with Eve, but also a chance for the EBWF's British Diva to really prove herself, once again.
The scene opened up in a workout gym. There were countless people of all ages working out n many of the machines, or running on the treadmill. A door swung open in the background of the scene. A man walked through it, that looked about as out of place as one could look in this type of setting. The man, of course, was Michael Cole. He had a plain gray sweatshirt on and matching gray sweatpants. He began awkwardly stretching. When he was interrupted by a much nicer sight. Layla El, tapped him on the shoulder. She wore black yoga pants and a white nike athletic tanktop. Her hair was pulled up, and her face glistened, indicating she had been working out. She looked at Michael strangely.
Layla El: Michael, you do know you didn't have to workout, I just told you this is where I'd be if you wanted to interview me.
Michael looked relieved.
Michael Cole: Oh thank god. I didn't want any part of you seeing me workout. It might make you think I'm less cool.
Layla smiled as she pushed some hair behind her ear.
Layla El: Oh I don't think THAT could happen!
Cole, clueless to the fact that Layla didn't think he was cool at all, breathed a sigh of relief.
Michael Cole: I don't get to the gym much anymore, even though you can't really tell. I men feel these bad boys!
Michael flexed his best "muscle" Layla sarcastically felt them, and feigned the fact that she was impressed.
Layla El: Wow! Are you sure you don't come here Michael?
Michael Cole: Honest to god, I really don't!
Layla El: I guess you are just one of the lucky ones!
Michael Cole: Anyways, I guess if we aren't going to get our workout on, we should chat a little bit about Monday Night. Do you have a couple minutes, I don't want to intrude on our workout.
Layla El: Brilliant, no I definitely can chat for a few. I am extremely excited for Monday. After my loss to that whack job Mickey James, I've been pretty focused on getting back on track in the ring. Something I look, very much forward to doing on Monday Night against Portia and Matthews and The Beautiful People.
Michael Cole: You will be teaming with Eve, someone you've never really teamed with before. What factor, if any, will the unfamiliarity have on this matchup?
Layla thought for a second as she grabbed her water bottle that sat on the handles of the elliptical next to her. She took a sip, and shook her head while swallowing.
Layla El: I don't think it will have any effect Michael. I'm a professional and so is Eve, and we are both very talented in that ring as individuals. I feel very confident that we can come together and get a big victory. I'm a trusting girl, sometimes too trusting, if you know anything about my personal life, but I think Eve and I will make a fantastic team, and no disrespect to the other girls, but we aren't exactly facing Chyna and Kharma, we are facing Nicole Matthews, Portia, and those 2 skinny bimbos Velvet Sky and Angelina Love. I've lifted weights today that weigh more than them. I could squat them.
Michael Cole looked dazed.
Michael Cole: I'd like to see that.
Layla El: Oh don't be a bloody perv, Cole.
Michael shook his head trying to become professional again.
Michael Cole: Sorry, go on.
Layla El: Not that these girls can't go in the ring, I think they are all talented, but we certainly won't have to overcome all the odds to defeat them. Victory is in reach, even for a new team like Eve and I will be.
Michael Cole: You are right about the lack of brawn in this match, but you can't argue with the success of many of the girls that will compete against you and Eve on Monday Night.
Layla El: Agree Cole, but don't you dare forget about what I bring to the table. I've been just as successful as the rest of the ladies in that locker room. I've hit a bit of a spat in the ring as of late, but I know I can still be a force to be reckoned with. It's important to me Michael, I'm a wrestler, I'm not just a pretty face with a simply gorgeous accent.
Michael remained stoic. Layla slapped him on the chest.
Layla El: You are supposed to agree with me you idiot.
Michael Cole: Oh I agree, I'm sorry I'm still thinking of you squatting Velvet Sky...uhhh I mean.. no I'm not.
Layla El: Ew..
Michael Cole: Sorry again please continue.
Layla El took a step back and crossed her arms over her chest.
Layla El: I'm saying the last thing people should do is forget what I'm capable of. If anyone tries to write me off, or even write Eve off, we both are more than able to give everyone a lovely reminder of just who we are, and what we can do. Nicole and Portia, you are the new girls around here, but luckily for you both I'm not one of those click type mean girls that are going to haze you until you quit. I will however, be forced to make an example of you, if you try to get in mine and Eve's way of this victory. Nicole is I guess supposed to be the tough one and Portia is a dainty little thing, together they are just eh, as a team. Pretty underwhelming, with a very low emphasis on the pretty, these girls ought to be better Cole, as they definitely didn't have any distractions with dates and proms, and things of that sort. Hmm.. maybe I am a 'mean girl' after all.
Michael Cole: No, not you Layla.
Layla El: Whatever dweeb.
Michael looked taken aback.
Layla El: Oh I'm just kidding Michael relax!
Michael nodded now that he was reassured he wasn't a dweeb. Layla mouthed into the camera "No I'm not" Michael didn't notice.
Michael Cole: And as far as the Beautiful People go, there's someone on the opposite side of the spectrum when it comes to the beauty department.
Layla El: Right, especially if you ask them! If you ask them they are the best looking gals on the planet, but unfortunately for them, and what the rest of us can't help but notice is, though they may attract the guys outside the ring, they surely aren't very impressive inside of it. I think they picked the wrong profession Cole, because if they get in my face I'm going to make it so that they don't look all that "beautiful" by the matches end. These two are more about the glitz and the glamour that comes with being an EBWF Diva, than actually focusing on what it truly means. To me an EBWF Diva means to not only be beautiful and strong, but to also be a competitor. In my opinion Michael, Angelina and Velvet won't be able to wait for the match to be over so that the two of them can go have daiquiris together and talk about who's thighs look better in bloody hot pants. Luckily for both of them, me and my girl Eve plan on ending this match very very quickly!
Michael Cole: I'd definitely say Velvet would look better in Hot Pants.
Layla El: Well I'm glad you weighed in on that issue Michael, definitely something I'm sure Velvet will love to hear, and even I'm sure use that in her argument.
Michael Cole: Anything I can do to help, I am there for them! Anything you'd like to finish with Lay.
Layla El: To my partner Eve, get ready girl, because we are going to have loads of fun on Monday Night. And to the other girls, you better be ready too, because you may not think of me as a 'Mean Girl' but our victory this Monday Night, is most definitely going to be SO FETCH.
Layla threw a nearby workout towel on Cole's face and walked out of the scene, as we faded to black.
