Blood Money

Post by Will »

It was a dark and stormy night. No different than any other horror story. Rain was pouring and thumped loudly against the windows of the huge house as AJ Styles sat across from his agent, Paul Heyman. Styles looked soulless as he stared into the red flames that the huge fireplace produced while sitting on a large sofa in the beautifully decorated living room. The former World Champion holder was dressed in pretty stylish fashion with a button up black shirt and fancy black dress slacks. He had a sick smirk all of a sudden as Heyman stared silently at him from across the room.

AJ Styles: I'm going to hurt... Chris Jericho. Listen to me. I'm going to hurt him. Doesn't he know that I'm a BETTER wrestler than him? When's the last time he wrestled? When's the last time he has won? Was it the time I won Team Jericho that victory at Survivor Series over you team, Paul?

Paul Heyman: It most certainly was and what a win it was. It should have been Team Styles because you carried the match on your back. Summerslam should be a cake walk. You proved that you could outwrestle Jericho just one year ago. But just so you know, AJ. This isn't going to be a wrestling match. This is going to be a no holds barred fight!

Silence consumed the room as Sundays match was now the subject. Styles finally turned his attention from the flames and shot Heyman a look that made him feel uncomfortably afraid. Paul laughed it off.

Paul Heyman: Of course it's not anything you couldn't handle!

AJ Styles: Tell me this, how am I suppose to prepare for a fight sitting here with you in the comforts of my own home?

Paul Heyman: Trust me, you'll have plenty of time to prepare. For now I want to discuss the strategy going into this Sunday. I want you to win this match.

AJ Styles: You don't think that I can?

Paul Heyman: It's not that I don't think you can, I know you can. I just addon't think you want to. You haven't really been on a roll lately. I mean you destroy Bret Hart in a cage match, but that was because Bret has no business being in a wrestling ring, let alone a steel cage with you. what was Jericho thinking? There was no way on gods green earth that Bret was going to walk out that cage. But that was that was the last match you won...

Styles looked displeased.

Paul Heyman: Hear me out for just a second! You were the highlight of that Money in the Bank ladder match and it was a fluke that you didn't walk out with the victory, but what you did do was walk out. I seen you out there trying your best to inflict pain and punishment on those guys. You should've won, but you didn't. You didn't care. You wrestled Cena a few weeks ago and you beat him down. You worked him over and you could have won that match. But you didn't care. This Sunday, you are going one on one with Chris Jericho and the rules of the match are that there are no rules. You have the perfect opportunity to hurt the man that you've been wanting to. But you better care. Because you need to win.

AJ Styles: I'm going to win.

Silence filled the room once again. Heyman looked around expecting more than the dry response he got.

Paul Heyman: Let's talk about that behavior of yours.

AJ Styles: What about my behavior?

Paul Heyman: You're a loose cannon. You need to pull yourself together. You're the greatest wrestler in the galaxy and the only way to prove it is to be a winner. You have the chance to do that by defeating the guy that has been holding you back. So tell me how you are going to win.

Styles didn't hesitate to respond, snapping at Heyman somewhat.

AJ Styles: I'm going to hurt him! I'm going to hit him with everything and anything I can get my hands on and beat him into a bloody puddle of the wrestler he once use to be. Jericho is not THE MAN anymore. I am, and he knows that he can't hold me back. It doesn't matter if I pin him or make him tap out. He won't have any choice in the matter because I'm going to dominate him. Jericho wanted me to wrestle in so many career ending matches. Elimination Chambers, Cage matches, Ladder matches, all for his blood money. You think he gives a damn about stopping the Shield? I don't see him lacing up his boots to go to war for this company. He expected a guy like me to do it for him. To be a martyr. Well, in the words of Jericho himself "I won't be your martyr anymore."

Paul got ready to respond but Styles continued to speak.

AJ Styles: Jericho needs to realize what a failure he is as a leader. He has underutilized the best talent in this business for guys who are way past their prime. He is taking the #1 wrestling company in the world and driving it straight into the ground. Somebody needs to knock some sense into him and Paul, you're looking at him. On Warfare when I hit him in the head with that camera I didn't feel fulfilled at all. I will defeat Chris Jericho. I will win. I will be victorious and that is the only way I can be fulfilled. Everyone thought that I was a joke. That I was "funny". Now, I want everyone to be afraid of me. I just have to give them reasons to be afraid of me. Like the way I took out Miz. Like the way I'm going to take out Jericho. Those are reasons.

Perfectly fitting a large loud bolt of lighting could be seen striking through the windows, causing the room to flash and the scene to fade out.
