Wrestling Clinic 1

ENTER THE CLINIC of the Wrestling Machine.

As the crowd sits anxiously for the next event of Warfare, ‘Medal’ begins to blare out of the pa system. The crowd boo’s as Kurt Angle walks straight down to the ring, ignoring all of the crowd around him.

Jim ‘JR’ Ross’: Well, here is the Olympic gold medallist himself. I have to say, he was very impressive last week, and his first addressing of the EBWF crowd last week seemed to show he still has a lot of hunger and desire.

Jerry ‘The King Lawler’: Well don’t forget JR, Kurt said that he wants to carry this company to the heights that it once was, and I personally am fully behind him.

Ring Announcer: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome...Kurt Angle!!

More boos as he steps through the ropes, he throws his arms in the air and swings around shouting before stopping and walking over to ask for a microphone.

Kurt Angle: Despite my impressive performance in my first EBWF appearance last week, pinning The Rock 1...2....3, this simply wasn’t enough for everybody in the back to take notice.
So tonight I’m going to make them take notice. Tonight, you are going to witness the first ‘Kurt Angle Wrestling Clinic’.
The concept is simple - 5 minutes...in the ring...with me. Am so confident in my own ability that if anybody can last those 5 minutes, then you will get a reward...

Angle looks to his chest and grabs the medal from around his neck and lifts it over his head. With it in his palm he stares down at it for a few moments.

Kurt Angle: ...My Olympic Gold Medal.

The crowd cheers with excitement as Kurt stares back at them with a slight grin on his face, showing no signs of doubt in his ability.

Kurt Angle: So now to get this underway. Introducing my first opponent.... Jason Darius.

Confused at the name the crowd remains fairly silent, with a few boos trickling through the arena as they turn their attention to the ramp. With no music, Jason Darius, a small young wrestler in full leg wrestling tights timidly approaches the ring.

Kurt Angle leans forward slightly with anticipation, the grin still firmly planted on his face as Jason continues to walk down the ramp. As he approaches the steel steps, he pauses for a few moments and looks up at Angle who has not taken his eyes off of him. He takes one big swallow, as if accepting the huge mountain he has to climb and then takes his first step up into the ring.
Still treading with caution, Jason looks the opposite of Angle – lacking in confidence. Eventually the two of them are right beside each other, and even the size difference becomes clear. Still holding the microphone, Kurt puts it to his mouth.

Kurt Angle: So Jason, welcome to the ‘Kurt Angle Wrestling Clinic’. Where are you from?

Jason: I...I...I’m from here in California.

There are now a few cheers from the crowd that are finding it difficult to get behind this hopeless young man.

Kurt Angle: And how old are you?

Jason: tw...twenty two.

Kurt Angle: Do you think you can last 5 minutes in the ring with me?

Jason pauses for a few moments and looks out at the crowd, unsure what to say. The crowd finally starts to get behind the kid, shouting “yes”, to try and encourage some confidence. Darius turns back to Kurt.

Kurt Angle: Well?

Jason: ....Yes.

Kurt turns his head away, angered at his response. Kurt then slaps Jason hard across the face knocking him to the ground.

Kurt Angle: Right, let’s get this thing started, bring a ref out here.

As Jason squirms around on the floor holding his face in pain, a referee runs to the ring.

Kurt Angle: Ok start the clock.

Kurt drops the microphone as the referee then rings the bell and the clock begins to tick down from the 5 minute mark. Jason is now on his feet, but still holding his jaw
Kurt walks over to him and delivers a few slaps to the head with Jason in the corner trying to protect himself from the blows.

The referee pulls Kurt away from the corner to give Jason a few moments to recover, but Kurt quickly drags him away from the safety of the ropes and gives a sharp kick to the stomach before delivering the Angle Slam.

Kurt goes for the pin....1.....2....... And Angle lifts the shoulder of Jason just before the 3 count, causing a huge amount of boos to surround the arena, the smirk returns on Angle’s face as he stands up and just prods Darius with his foot. Jason rolls around the floor slightly, seeming almost unconscious.

Finally Kurt grabs his leg, and looks out at the crowd. Then he locks it in, and drops to the ground, his legs wrapped around Jason like a vice, trapping him in the middle of the ring. Immediately Jason Darius starts shouting in pain and tapping out. The referee rings for the bell, but Kurt refuses to let go and continues the pain. Kurt’s music then begins to play.

Ring Announcer: Here is your winner....Kurt Angle!

The referee struggles at first, but after a few moments finally manages to get Kurt to break the submission hold.

Jim ‘JR’ Ross: Well, that didn’t seem right to me.

Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler: What are you talking about, Kurt gave this young man a chance to perform in front of thousands of people, and he even had a chance to win his gold medal. The kid just wasn’t good enough.

Kurt throws Jason’s leg to the ground and stands to his feet; he then walks to the edge of the ring and calls for his gold medal. After it is handed to him, he raises it into the air as the crowd boo once again.

Kurt Angle then leaves the destroyed Jason Darius in the ring as he heads up the ramp, without even looking back.
