Treatment

Post by Kyle »

OOC: Here's my RP, it's a bit short but I'm happy with what I've got. Welcome back to Miles, we've had some good times over the years and can't wait to see where you go with Gabriel.

After what was thought to be a breakthrough in the treatment of Daniel Bryan, he had regressed after viciously attacking Trent? on Warfare. Dr. Andrews had been working hard to try to help Daniel become more sociable, more balanced and less insane. In the lead up to Fanniversary there were many different ways that members of EBWF could interact with the members of the EBWF Universe. One way was a signing session at EBWF Access days before the event. Daniel Bryan was present at one of the events and with him was Dr. Andrews who was keeping a close eye on him. There was initial hesitation to allow Daniel to appear given his fragile mental state, but after assurances from Dr. Andrews he was approved. Minutes before Daniel was set to walk out to greet the members of the EBWF Universe he was standing backstage at the Pennsylvania Convention Centre with Dr. Andrews. Daniel was surprisingly calm and seemed to be all there mentally. He wore an EBWF branded Daniel Bryan shirt and a dark pair of jeans. Before he stepped out to greet the fans, Dr. Andrews had some final words for him.

Dr. Andrews: You've shown signs of improvement after your recent "regression". Just remain calm, and everything will be fine.

Daniel Bryan nodded to his doctor. Remaining silent was a method that Dr. Andrews had been trying to use with Daniel. By having Daniel remain silent, Andrews believed that he would supress his emotions and in turn appear calm and sane.

Daniel walked out to the signing table where there was a large group of fans of all ages waiting for him and the other EBWF superstars. Daniel was one of the biggest names at the signings in his group along with Ted DiBiase and Paul Heyman. Daniel sat at the table with Andrews standing behind him as fans approached him. At first it started out quite slow, many fans just wanting a shirt or poster signed and there wasn't much interaction from Daniel. As the time went on Daniel began to open up more, which pleased Dr. Andrews. Daniel began to talk with the fans and show that he wasn't insane. He stood up and took pictures, he high-fived kids, everything was going great for the slightly unstable wrestler. After taking a photo with a small child he returned to his seat and a teenager walked up to him next and placed a drawing down in front of Daniel.

Teenager: Can I get this signed please?

Daniel looked down at the drawing and his calm expression quickly faded. Staring back up at him was a picture of himself but with the head of a goat. Written in large words at the top of the drawing was "Daniel 'Goatman' Bryan". Daniel started shaking his head from side to side, the picture wasn't pleasing him at all. He began to mutter the word "No" over and over again, slowly increasing the loudness of his words. Dr. Andrews look alarmed and looked forward to see the picture and pushed it forward to the teenager.

Dr. Andrews: I'm sorry but he can't sign that, he's been battling some problems now and seeing that image has stressed him out.

Daniel continued to shake his head and his theatrics began to get him some attention. Before anything major happened Dr. Andrews helped Daniel to his feet and walked him away from the signing tables. Away from the public Dr. Andrews tried to calm Daniel down.

Dr. Andrews: You need to calm down, you can't do this every time you see something that upsets you.

Daniel Bryan: NO!

Dr. Andrews: Daniel, we've gone through this. You will speak to me in a calm tone, do you want me to tell the officials that you're not in a mental state to wrestle?

Daniel threw his hands around and screamed once more.

Daniel Bryan: NO!

Dr. Andrews: I'm sorry? You need approval from me to be in that ring, and I don't believe that you're capable of wrestling at Fanniversary.

Daniel might have been slightly insane, but he still loved being in the ring. Immediately there was a huge difference to his actions. He became calmer and his voice had dropped in loudness significantly.

Daniel Bryan: No. I want to wrestle.

Dr. Andrews: That's better, now tomorrow you have an interview before your match and I do not want to see you screaming the words YES or NO. Got it?

Daniel looked down at the ground, defeated. He looked back up and replied softly.

Daniel Bryan: ... yes.

Scene 2

Fanniversary was finally upon us. The Wells Fargo arena was packed and the show was just about to begin. Daniel Bryan was standing with Renee Young at the interview set, with Dr. Andrews standing off camera to the side. Renee looked a bit nervous standing near the man labelled "insane" but continued with the interview anyway.

Renee Young: I'm with Daniel Bryan who is participating in the first match of Fanniversary tonight against the daredevil Justin Gabriel. How do you think you'll fare against the high flying South African?

Daniel took a few deep breaths before speaking.

Daniel Bryan: Tonight, I'm going out there to show off what a wrestler can do. Justin Gabriel can fly high and dare to dream big, but with those risks comes the chance of something terrible happening. Against a technician like me, one mistake will cost you the match.

Renee looked slightly surprised at the coherent and calm response from Bryan.

Renee Young: You've recently had face offs with the Money in the Bank holder Trent? Why did you attack him initially?

Daniel Bryan: I was looking to make a statement. Here is a guy who has a guaranteed title shot and if I take that guy out, people will begin to look at me for championship matches.

Renee Young: Both Trent? and Gabriel have similar styles, both going high risk on many occasions. How do you combat that?

Daniel Bryan: I've trained all over the world so I've had to adapt and change my style to suit each different company. Gabriel's high flying style won't work if I target his leg and ground him. Without the high flying game, he doesn't have much of an offense.

Renee Young: You also like to go up to the top rope on occasions and also take risks. Suicide dives and your famous flying headbutt that has been dubbed the "Flying Goat"-

Daniel's eyes widened at the mention of the word goat. Any comparison of him to a beast made him cringe and revert back to his less than sane demeanour. Daniel stood still and began to shake his head from side to side. He looked like he was about to burst and Renee noticed this and too a few steps away from him. Daniel looked up and saw Dr. Andrews standing there shaking his head. Daniel knew that if he had an outburst, he would not be allowed to compete. Daniel stopped his shaking and took several more deep breaths.

Daniel Bryan: Can you please call my top rope move the Flying Headbutt like it is commonly known as?

Renee looked shocked that he didn't go crazy.

Renee Young: Sorry, as I was saying you like to take risks as well, particularly with your top rope move the Flying Headbutt.

Daniel Bryan: That's right Renee, but when I take risks I know they will pay off. I calculate every move and make sure that it will always succeed. And ultimately that is what separates Justin and myself. I know when to take risks and when they will pay off.

Daniel looked uncomfortable standing there, but tried to play it off. He wanted to scream NO in her face, but the thought of not competing prevented him from doing so.

Renee Young: Well thank you for taking the time to answer a few questions and good luck in your match tonight.

Daniel walked off the interview set towards Dr. Andrews who was thrilled with Daniel's calmness.

Dr. Andrews: Good work Daniel that is exactly how you behave when conducting an interview. Now when you're in that ring I want you to release everything you've kept inside. Use your anger constructively to win the match tonight.

Daniel was silent as Dr. Andrews continued to speak while they walked towards the ring.
