Are you worthy?

The EBWF World Tour was in full swing and Daniel Bryan had left his Royal Rumble disappointment behind him and solidly defeated Damien Sandow in London. The EBWF crew had now moved onto Paris and it looked like someone high up had noticed Daniel's hard efforts. Daniel was now participating in the main event and he had the opportunity to become the Intercontinental Champion. To become champion would be the ultimate accomplishment and definitely a career highlight. Standing in his way was Bad News Barrett, the current Breakout Champion Evan Bourne, and the record reigning Intercontinental Champion and Path to Glory Champion John Cena. Just before Warfare, Daniel went out to the ring to address the crowd before his match. Long Forgotten Sons by Rise Against began to play as he walked down the ramp. He was met with a positive response as he got into the ring. He received a microphone and began to address the crowd.
Daniel Bryan: Someone in management has noticed what I've done in this ring. They've noticed that I'm the most technically gifted athlete in this ring. Tonight I've got the chance to win another championship. To do that I have to stop John Cena, who has been on a roll for the last year as champion. Not only do I have to break a record reign, I also have to defeat Bad News Barrett and Evan Bourne as well. It's not going to be easy, it's going to be harder than any match I've had in EBWF. I've got to defeat the man who took the Breakout Championship from me, and topple a reign that has lasted for the best part of a year. John Cena and Evan Bourne will be formidable. But let's not forget about Bad News Barrett.
The crowd booed at the mention of Barrett.
Daniel Bryan: Recently he's been known for his actions outside of the ring. Antagonising all of you, and running down everyone in the back. I don't care about his childish words. I care about what happens in this ring. He hits hard, he brawls and he's not afraid to slug it out in the middle of the ring. That suits me, I know what he'll be looking to do in this ring. He can hit hard, but so can I. A big guy like Barrett can't do much when his leg has been targeted the entire match. Eventually he won't even be able to use his strikes. Then a can twist his knee and make him tap easily. Then there's Evan Bourne.
The crowd booed loudly after seeing what Bourne did last week to John Cena.
Daniel Bryan: Evan Bourne already holds a victory over me. I took my eye off him for a second and paid for it. I won't make that mistake twice. Last week on Warfare you all saw what he did to Cena. Warfare ended with Evan Bourne standing over John Cena. This week he's got more than Cena to deal with. He's got Barrett and myself as well. Since becoming the Breakout Champion, Evan has become smug and arrogant. Tonight I've got the chance to shut him up, avenge my loss and become a champion again. But for as arrogant as he is, he has skills. He didn't win on a fluke against me. He pinned me in the ring and deserved to win that night. So tonight I've seen what he's capable of and I know that in order to defeat him I have to ground him. I have to keep him from flying and wear him down. I can't go at his pace, I've got to make him go at mine. If I wear him down and take the top rope out of the equation, he isn't a strong wrestler on the mat. He won't last long on the ground with me.
Daniel slowly paced back and forth in the ring. He had slight nerves but he was used to big matches like this.
Daniel Bryan: Then there's the Intercontinental Champion. John Cena. The single greatest threat in this match. He's held this title for a long time and taken on everyone that's come up against him. He's gone through Glass Table matches, Steel Cage matches, and First Blood matches all to retain this championship. But at some stage it has to take a physical and mental toll on him. Tonight he's got three other men to contend with and he doesn't have to be in the ring to lose his championship. He's got to ensure that not only does he beat down each opponent enough to get a pin or submission, but he has to beat down his opponents enough that they can't pin or submit the others. He and I have had our history, the Real American Heroes were the Tag Team Champions. We've achieved a lot in our respective careers. He's had record setting reigns, I've had record reigns. But in all of this there's one thing that I have achieved that's eluded him. The King of the Ring. In 2010 I went through countless opponents to become the King of the Ring. I got to the top and won that tournament. That's something that I've got that Cena hasn't achieved. He got close last year, and no doubt this year it will be his primary focus. But for all the accolades and championships that we've won it means nothing when the bell rings. I know him enough to know that he'll never quit. But I know him well enough to know that after nearly a year of defending this championship and going through gruelling matches against stiff competition it's taken a toll on him. He'll never say that he's hurt or he's not 100%, but I know that he's not at his best. But I still know that as long as he's got that championship he's going to fight tooth and nail to keep it. So tonight I've got three opponents. I've only got to defeat one to become champion, but I've got to keep an eye out on the other two to ensure that they don't end the match. I know I have the skills and technique to defeat and outwrestle my opponents, but when there's four of us in that ring anything can happen. Paris, get ready for one amazing match, because you've got a classic in store for you tonight.
Long Forgotten Sons played over the PA as Daniel left the microphone in the ring and left to applause from the crowd. They favoured Cena, but Daniel knew that if John couldn't win he was their next favourite. He wanted to be the one to break the reign of Cena. But the wrestler in him didn't want to take the short cuts. He didn't feel satisfaction in defeating Barrett or Bourne to become the champion. He wanted to pin or submit Cena to show that he was truly worthy of holding that championship.
