“I may have failed to get the job done at WrestleMania in that fatal fourway. I may have failed to live up to my own expectations as well as the expectations of those around me. But it is a long road back to the place that I once was. It is a long road back from legend to champion. But soon… soon I have the chance to step into the ring with the dead man. The Undertaker! Well Taker… I know that my chances against you aren’t as good as my chances against three others. I know that everyone expects to see me broken and battered in the middle of that ring. I know that people think I no longer have what it takes to make it in this business. But this is my chance to prove them wrong.”
He staggers towards the camera, reaching out and grabbing it. Mankind pulls the camera closer to him, his face pressed up against it showing nothing but one large wide bloodshot eye.
“This is my chance! My chance to show the world… a chance to step back on my path to the top!”
The camera is moved down, Mankind’s mouth the only thing in frame now.
“You aren’t going to take my chance away from me, Undertaker. You aren’t going to deny me my future!”
Mankind pushes the camera away, retreating backwards near a hissing boiler.
“I may not be on my way to becoming the Break Out Champion, but I am about to break out! Since the dawn of man there has been but one constant on this earth. There has been only one thing that drives people over the years, throughout the centuries, from millennium to millennium… The ever rise… The constant growth… The evolution… Of Mankind!”
He lets out another high pitched almost squealing laugh, spinning around and slamming a fist into the side of the boiler. The metal buckles and cracks, an eruption of steam filling the room, turning everything white. Somewhere in the chaos is the laughter and giggling of Mankind, slowly fading into the distance.
