Respect

Post by Kyle »

Ted had gotten to the back after defeating Kevin Nash and he was not impressed. Sure, he had just defeated a legend, but only after he got attacked by Ted's next opponent in the Path to Glory Tournament. Ted was walking down the halls of Madison Square Garden, trying to find Shane McMahon. He saw a crew member standing around and walked up to him.

Ted Jr: Where the hell is Shane McMahon?

The crew member was startled at Ted's aggression and let out a mumbled response.

Crew Member: Ahhh, his office is down there.

The crew member pointed down the hall and Ted immediately went down there. Soon enough he found Shane's office and he barged through the door without knocking and found Shane in there.

Shane McMahon: It's common courtesy to knock before entering.

Ted didn't pay any attention to that statement as he began to rant to Shane.

Ted Jr: What the hell was that out there? Is it not believable enough to see me defeat an old man that can barely walk out there? Why wasn't I told about that Wyatt attack?

Shane McMahon: Look Ted, I know you're mad but creative have big plans in getting the Wyatt Family over, they think the gimmick is going to get over big with the fans and they're pushing him hard.

Ted Jr: So they expect me to just lie down next week when I have to face him next week?

Shane McMahon: It's not like that Ted and you know it. You know that plans change at any time.

Ted Jr: Don't give me that crap Shane. I know as well as you do that if the higher ups are going to push someone, it's going to happen. What the hell do I have to do to get some damn respect around here?

Shane McMahon: Respect? You were given a record length reign, you won the World Title...

Ted Jr: And I've got the damn CEO saying I'm never going to be a true main eventer. I had everyone call me a transitional champion and one of the worst World Champions ever, what kind of respect is that Shane?

Shane McMahon: Just remember who you're talking to Ted. I have some say what happens in terms of creative, so choose your words carefully.

Ted sighed and turned to walk out of the office, before exiting he turned back and gave one final warning to Shane.

Ted Jr: Next Monday I better here of some change, or you're not going to like what's going to happen next.

With that Ted left the office and immediately went to pack his bags and leave, well before the end of the event.

---

Over the next week Ted had heard nothing from anyone at EBWF Headquarters, and he arrived at the Bell Centre still angry. The crowd was filing into the Bell Centre and Ted had gone to the crew members in the back.

Ted Jr: Play my music, I'm going out there.

The crew members didn't argue with Ted and started to play Heroes by Shinedown. Ted walked out still in his street gear, he wore dark blue jeans and one of his official EBWF T-shirts. He walked straight to the ring without paying any attention to anyone. He entered the ring and demanded a microphone and quickly received one.

Ted Jr: So just like always the EBWF management still doesn't think I am as good as I say that I am. They all think I'm still just living in my father's shadow. We've got the owner of EBWF who doesn't take me seriously, we've got guys like Orton and Edge who still think I'm a nothing to them, even though I have defeated both of them. And we've got people who think that the only reason I beat Nash at Aftermath was because some sick crazy lunatic called Bray Wyatt and his "Family" attacked Nash before our match. What do I have to do to make you see that I'm every bit as good as I claim to be? Who was the longest reigning champion of all time before Cena's Intercontinental Championship reign? Me. Who won the World Championship within 3 months of arriving in EBWF? Me. Who has taken on some of the best EBWF and the wrestling industry has to offer and beat them? Me. But because my father was a Hall of Famer anything I do is irrelevant. My father never won the World Championship, my father created his own Championship because he couldn't win the World Championship. I've achieved more than my father and I've still got another 10 years to go.

Ted paced back and forth in the ring before stopping in his stride.

Ted Jr: Bray Wyatt is the next person I face in the PTG Tournament. Nobody has been able to stop him since he's arrived here. You've got your little family there Bray, playing your mind games on everybody. They're not working on me at all. You can speak in your metaphors and stories but I deal in reality. You're not a messiah, you're a fraud. Orton couldn't get the job done at Aftermath and I'll be damned if I'm not going to take advantage of this opportunity. You are the only thing standing between me and a Path to Glory Championship match. So Bray can speak about his greater plan and play his mind games with his family, but tonight when he's in the ring with me the mind games end. There's only one thing on my mind tonight and that's the Path to Glory Championship. So bring Rowan and Harper with you, and if they even think of getting involved just ask Paul Heyman what'll happen to them.

Ted dropped the microphone and left as quick as he arrived. He got to the backstage area and was walking to his locker room when Renee Young approached him with a camera man right behind her.

Renee Young: Ted, you just had some words for Bray Wyatt and everyone in EBWF when you went out there, do you think you'll walk past Bray tonight?

Ted Jr: I have to, that's what I do in EBWF. I get told that I'm going to face a wrestler so I go out there and I beat them. Tonight is no different. It doesn't matter that my opponent is a glorified nut job, the process is the same.

Renee Young: You demanded respect from everyone in the back, does winning the Path to Glory Championship Tournament get that respect?

Ted Jr: When I'm holding that World Championship again is when everyone will sit and take notice. When I'm back on top of EBWF again everyone will notice me. I will demand respect and anyone who disrespects me will pay the price.

Renee Young: Should you win tonight you'll face either AJ Styles or Bad News Barrett. Who do you think you'll be facing?

Ted Jr: It doesn't matter. It can be AJ, who will probably be screwing a new EBWF diva next week, or it'll be Bad News Barrett who nobody wants to see win. The fact of the matter is it can be absolutely anyone that I face next week and it's not going to matter because at the end of the day I am regaining MY Path to Glory Championship and I will go on to cash it in for a World Championship match and get what I truly deserve.

Renee Young: What are your thoughts on CM Punk returning to EBWF?

Ted Jr: He's just another guy on the roster, if he gets in my way I'll take him out.

Renee Young: Any final words for Bray Wyatt tonight?

Ted Jr: Run.

Ted left after uttering the word used frequently by Bray. He was only focused on the title and wanted it more than anything.
