The Path to Glory Championship tournament was heating up and the final match to determine the next champion was going to happen this Monday night. Nobody excepted Styles vs DiBiase as the final match with both men defeating highly favored up and coming superstars. The two men were established superstars in the business and having a reputation for tearing down the house whenever they locked up, this match was sure to be a match of the year candidate. After the most recent edition of Warfare ended Styles found himself sitting across from Shane McMahon in his storage room he called an office. We pick up mid-conversation.
Shane McMahon: I gotta be honest, you've been spending a lot of money these days. I really think you should hire an accountant.
AJ Styles: Why would I wanna give my money to somebody else and have them tell me how to spend it "wisely"? I'm a grown ass man. If I wanted an allowance I would be staying at home with my momma.
Shane McMahon: That's just it, AJ. You do what you want to do. Now I know Wes allows some of his major talent to have more creative control than others but this image you have been portraying of yourself lately is not the direction we were going with you character.
AJ Styles: And what direction is that? Enhancement talent?
Shane McMahon: Putting DiBiase over wouldn't make you a jobber.
AJ Styles: No, I'd just be a jobber to a jobber. Don't get me wrong, I respect the hell out of Ted, but it's obvious to everybody around here that you guys don't! He has been busting his ass around here for the past four years and you all constantly pass him by push after push for some fuck up like Sydal. Why wasn't DiBiase good enough to go over Cena for the IC strap? It's because of this bullshit "direction" you wanna take our characters. Don't give me that shit, Shane.
Shane McMahon: We haven't decided the outcome just yet. We still have to see what route Wes would like to go.
AJ Styles: Fuck Wes.
Shane McMahon: We've told you a thousand times to refrain from that type of language.
AJ Styles: I do what I want. Didn't we just go over that. I'm glad you called me in here for this little chit chat and whatnot but I gotta go. You know, smoke some pot, fuck some bitches. Let me know what you guys come up with.
Styles stood from his seat, ready to leave.
Shane McMahon: I have a feeling you're not taking me seriously. Wes was right, you can't get your mind out the gutter long enough to be professional.
AJ Styles: That's because the rich bastard made me a rich bastard and now I don't have to listen to people like you. Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go. This small ass closet is making me paranoid.
Styles left Shane with a frown on his face.

We follow AJ Styles into a gentlemen's club and pick up again mid-conversation. Only this time he was talking to a stripper dressed in the sluttiest attire. Her attention was solely on the big wad of money in his hand and she danced as nasty as she could in the private room the two shared. Styles was already drunk and ranting about his upcoming match and it appeared as if the young girl wasn't attentive to a word he said as she moved to the rhythm of the music.
AJ Styles: I don't give a damn about losing to Ted. He's a guy I'd consider a friend. I wanna see him achieve his dreams. I wanna see him be the man again. Even if that's at my expense. I don't wanna put him over only for him to go on and lose to Cena again. That would piss me off. The guy deserves better than this. Vince treated him like shit and Wes treats him like piss so that tells you something. Dixie would probably love to have him. He'd be the World Champion in no time there. It's not like that in the EBWF. Wes only has wood for his friends and anybody else has to go through hell to ever touch the top. That's why I respect Ted so much. Even after all the bullshit he never took his ball and went home. Not like other punk ass guys did. Do you even watch wrestling?
The girl nodded only to stroke his ego. She probably thought the path to glory was a charity race. Styles didn't care as the girl straddled him. His mind was off of the match now and only thinking about having drunken love with this barely legal whore on his lap.

Being a father wasn't easy for AJ. He could never really spend the true quality time with his three sons. With Mother's Day just passing Styles felt it would be good to have his sons attend this Warfare with him and allow their mother some free time. Styles has heard DiBiase would have his son with him so it would be cool to have the boys play together while they went over spots. It was well known that DiBiase loved cutting promos on his trusty camera, so AJ decided to do the same. His location was a bit darker, possibly the boiler room or basement of the arena. Styles stood in front of the camera dressed entirely in black. His hooded face left only his mouth to be seen as his words were the only thing that mattered at this moment.
AJ Styles: Ted DiBiase vs AJ Styles. We've all seen it before. We've fought over many championships. We've even fought over absolutely nothing. Yet, each time Ted can't get the job done. Every time he gets so close, only to fail. That's kinda been the story behind Ted DiBiase Jr. Who came this close to finally taking that Intercontinental Championship from John Cena? I'll admit, it wasn't me. It was Ted. Who came this close to stopping the entire CM Punk "Best in the World" era? Ted. Who beats the living hell out of Miz, more time than I can count, only to lose every time they actually wrestle? Yes, Ted.
Styles displayed no emotion as he spoke.
AJ Styles: I'm not about to bash this man like everyone else does. I know exactly what Ted brings to the table whenever we step into the ring. Which is not much.
He lied.
AJ Styles: Listen Ted, here's the thing, you're simply not better than me. No way shape or form. You may be able to put on fantastic matches but so am I and unlike you I am actually capable of winning them. If you think for one second that I'm going to lay down for you just because the two of us have mutual respect for one another, you're out of you fucking mind. Just like you're out of your fucking league. I'm not John Cena. I'm not CM Punk. I'm AJ Styles, BETTER than the best in the world. I'm the most vicious son of a bitch in this company and I don't care if I have to put you in a wheel chair to get back to my EBWF World Championship. I may not hate you DiBiase, but don't think for a second that I won't treat you like I've done Wes Ikeda or anybody else I've faced. The Path to Glory Championship is mine. This is my chance to right my first wrong. I failed to win the World Championship the first time I cashed in that title. I promise you, I won't make the same mistake twice.
Styles revealed more of his face only to show the fans who were watching the intensity he had in his eyes.
AJ Styles: I'm not underestimating you, Ted.. I truly do want everybody to show you the respect you deserve. I want you to show Wes and the rest of the world that you are a "top guy". I want all that for you, I really do. Just not tonight... Not over my dead body. Tonight you come close, but like always, you just don't get the job done. When it's all said and done, it won't matter if you want to wrestle Cena, Punk or whoever else, you just won't be wrestling for the EBWF World Heavyweight Championship.
The look on Styles face showed his confidence. He finished up his promo and stop recording. He knew this was going to be a great match and he'd be happy regardless of the outcome. Both men deserved to be the next Path to Glory Champion, but they knew there could only be one.
