Clout

Post by Brian W. »

.:: Scene opened up with Damien Sandow standing in the back stage area of the US Bank Arena. Behind him was a solid black banner with EBWF letters in white. The white EBWF letters had been painted over in red with the letters “B & B”. Sandow stood confidently in front of the banner and had a smirk on his face. He was wearing the new Brains & Brawn shirt EBWF had made and had a pair of jeans on. The camera zoomed in on his face. ::.

Damien Sandow: You will notice, or perhaps not, that I am alone right now. Daniel is somewhere else having what I can only assume is a very interesting conversation. My name is Damien Sandow, and I am the Brains as it pertains to Brains & Brawn. Two weeks ago you saw us dismantle our opponents in our first chance at showing our tag team abilities. This week will be no different, although I will go at it alone this time. You see, this week I have a very interesting opportunity at my hands. I have the opportunity to become the new EBWF Breakout Champion. Though our goal is to dominate the tag team division here in EBWF, being a champion of any sort here carries clout. Clout is needed to become the most recognized team in EBWF history! Funny that I used the word clout just now. While most of you simpletons know the word to mean to have pull or powerful say, it also has another meaning. In my spare time when I am not wrestling or teaching Daniel things, I like to practice in the gentleman's sport of Archery. In archery the word clout refers to a shot that hits its mark. A bulls-eye! [Sandow paused for a moment with a confident grin on his face.] This Monday I will hit one of B&B's first targets when I become the new EBWF Breakout Champion!

.:: Sandow stopped talking for a moment and bent over picking up a plastic bag. He put his hand in the bag and pulled out a visibly used edition of the Oxford English Dictionary. He turns the page to a pre-determined page and points towards a word in the book. ::.

Damien Sandow: Allow me to teach the unwashed mass something new. Now if you all sit down and really pay attention you might not only be able to understand a few words, but you might actually learn something! Astonishing I know! [The crowd in the arena could be heard booing.] Silence! Allow me to teach! Ahem... [Sandow cleared his throat.] Breakout. An escape, often with the use of force, as from a prison or mental institution. Brilliant that it should mention the likes of a prison or mental institution. Everyone in this match with me, besides me of course, have been in either place I am positive. Also, speaking of escape, Matt Sydal is a classic example of an escape artist. Look at all this time he has been escaping matches with the championship still in his hands. At one point he was a double champion, and boy did he let you know about it. However, what happened to those championships? That's right, he lost one. Now it is only a matter of time before he loses the other one, and that amount of time is getting smaller and smaller to closer we get to Warfare!

.:: Sandow looked in to the camera. This time his look was of focus. He knew the chance that was at his fingertips and he didn't want to waste it. ::.

Damien Sandow: Breakout. An appearance or manifestation, as of a disease, that is sudden and often widespread; outbreak. You know, sometimes whenever I read smart things, like the dictionary for example, I feel as if they have taken quotes directly from me. A disease that is sudden and often widespread. That sentence in itself describes more than half of the so called talent in the EBWF locker room. Each week you look to see who you are facing, not only so you can get prepared for you match, but so you can get prepared for the worst. The botched moves, the injuries from doing the simplest task gone wrong. And what started as one to two guys has become a widespread epidemic. It seems these days EBWF has an open door policy for just anyone to come in and give it a go. I mean don't get me wrong it is nice to have new blood here every once in a while, but Bray Wyatt? Really? I think earlier I mentioned a mental institution. If there is any one man in this business that needs to make one of those his home for decades to come it is that man! But instead of him being locked in a padded room where he belongs... where he can play with his imaginary friends and milk his goat followers... he is here in the EBWF. Thriving! Winning match after match and playing his mind games on everyone. Well... Everyone but me! [Sandow tried to calm himself down as he got worked up talking about Wyatt.] Wyatt, one day, hopefully soon, B&B will come for you and your family. When that day comes, it will be better than I ever imagined! And much like you Bray, I have a vivid imagination!

.:: Sandow closed the dictionary and slammed the book down on the table in front of him. ::.

Damien Sandow: BREAKOUT! An instance of surpassing any previous achievement: A breakout in gold prices. I once was a champion here. However, at this point and time I have no gold to carry with me. In less than a week though, I will have the EBWF Breakout Championship in my possession. I will surpass my previous achievement of not having a championship, and I will have more gold with me. [Sandow stopped talking and motioned to a championship being around his waist.] Now that I have educated you ignoramuses about breaking out and my intentions to become your new Breakout Champion, let me just say a few more things. Is that okay? Of course it’s okay, the unwashed mass pays to hear Damien Sandow talk! [The crowd again could be heard booing.] Boo all you want, but the fact is you are all here listening to me say what I am saying. This match on Warfare is not just a regular match. It is a gauntlet match, and I honestly hope I get the opportunity to run the gauntlet in this match. I don’t care what order any of you march out either. Mick Foley and Syxx are honestly to the point in their careers that I will be surprised if they are even able to walk down the ring. But don’t be fooled. They could get to the ring with a walker, blazes; I don’t even care if they crawl to the ring I am going to do to them what I am going to do to every single person on the list. I am going to nail them with the You’re Welcome and I am going to end their short stint in the match. Now don’t get me wrong, Syxx, you are accomplished a lot here in EBWF. You have been a consistent performer and a very good entertainer for Wes. However, I’m afraid I have got some bad news! [Sandow smiled as the crowd booed again.] See what I did there? Syxx, your run of entertainment and success is over now as far as I am concerned. This is not the year of Syxx. This is the year of Damien Sandow, Daniel Rodimer… This is the yard of Brains and Brawn!

.:: At that time Daniel Rodimer walked in to the camera shot. Rodimer gives Sandow an epic high five before turning around and seeing the banner. Rodimer nods in agreement with the banner and begins to talk. ::.

Daniel Rodimer: Well Damien, before anything else is said I must inform you that I just had a very interesting conversation. You don’t need to worry about it just yet, and neither do any of these people. They will find out what I want them to find out, when I want them to find them out!

Damien Sandow: This room just gained a little more Brawn power I think! I was just informing this dingbat crowd about my match this week and some of my opponents.

Daniel Rodimer: Really? Is that where you started? I would have thought you would pick some words out of a dictionary and explain what those words meant. Not that that is a bad thing, just seems like something you would do. Again, not that that is a bad thing…

Damien Sandow: Well… Actually…

Daniel Rodimer: You already did that didn’t you! [Rodimer laughed and then pointed down at the dictionary.] Ah yes you did! I didn’t see the dictionary at first, I was too distracted by our epic high five we shared!

Damien Sandow: Daniel I must say you seem to be in a really great mood.

Daniel Rodimer: I have never felt as good as I do right now! There is a reason I am known as The Man around here. I am Daniel Rodimer, the Real Deal! And I’m the man, I’m the man, I’m the freaking man!

Damien Sandow: Daniel have you ever faced the likes of Daniel Bryan or Roman Reigns?

Daniel Rodimer: In DSW I had the unfortunate opportunity of facing Roman Reigns. He was really fresh and young back then. He almost ended my career, let’s just say, botchamania! [Rodimer and Sandow laughed.] I have never faced Daniel Bryan. But I can tell you a couple of things about those guys. First off, I can tell you that they are going at this career the wrong way. They are going at it by themselves with no one having their back. You Damien will have someone watching your back. You better believe come Monday I will be in your corner. I will stand proud in that corner knowing that my B and B partner will be the next Breakout champion! Second off I can inform you that neither of them is anywhere near as good looking or smart as us. Well… they may be smarter than me, but I can guarantee they are nowhere near as good looking as me! [Rodimer posed toward the camera with a smile on his face.] And they may be better looking than you Damien, but I can guarantee they are nowhere near as smart as you. [Rodimer looked at Sandow and waited for him to pose like he did a few seconds ago. When Sandow doesn’t pose to the camera Rodimer again speaks.] You missed your cue there Brains.

Damien Sandow: Sorry I am not focused on posing and jokes right now. I am focused on one thing and one thing only. Daniel, when I become the Breakout champion that is going to open a lot of doors for us here in EBWF. It will be the first step to this being the year of Brain and Brawn! This will be the first step to us being the best team in EBWF history! [Sandow looked at the camera.] And you… You’re Welcome!

Daniel Rodimer: … And me! I’M THE MAN!

.:: Sandow kind of looked at Rodimer like he was getting irritated with the joking matter, but then remembered the mood Rodimer was in and began to smile. The two men shake hands and Sandow turns around and rips down the banner that was behind them and took it with them as they walked out of the shot of the camera. ::.

I found Sandow annoying in WWE, but now that I read your writing here I actually like him lol.

I love your stuff Brian. I can't wait to see how things play out in the future for B&B. Brains & Brawn FTW.
