Who's the REAL Savior here?

Post by Nick »

[[The lights go out, the images and sounds scratch on the screen, and we see Bray Wyatt light his lantern.]]

Bray Wyatt:
Cincinatti, Ohio – We’re here.

[[Bray Wyatt emerges from the back followed by Luke Harper only.]]

Jim Ross:
Here we see Bray Wyatt leading his only remaining member of the family to the ring.

Jerry Lawler:
Oh JR, I never like seeing a wrestler get seriously hurt but for these guys, I think I’ll make an exception.

Jim Ross:
Let’s take you back two weeks ago, to the last time we saw Erick Rowan – he was getting beaten down by Kevin Nash with a baseball bat, who was looking for revenge from that heinous attack from the Wyatt family back at Aftermath.

[[There is some cut footage of Nash attacking Rowan with the bat. It then shows Wyatt and Harper escaping up the ramp while Nash shouts “Oh you think I’m done with YOU? Huh!?”]]

Jim Ross:
You know King, one of the most dangerous things about this Wyatt family is they incite escalation.

Jerry Lawler:
Violence leads to more violence JR.

Jim Ross:
Well I’m getting sick of it!

[[Bray Wyatt steps into the ring, and blows out the lantern. When the house lights come up, he is seated in his rocking chair in the middle of the ring – microphone in hand – with Harper standing behind him, looking a bit nervous.]]

Bray Wyatt:
Why are you here Punk? Why, Punk, Why? Is that the question that’s been asked? Hmmmmm, it sounds to me, like maybe, someone isn’t asking the right questions. Why are you here? It’s obvious.

[[Bray begins to hum and sing the Led Zepplin song...]]

Bray Wyatt:
There’s a lady who sure/
All that glitters is gold/
And she’s buying a stairway to heaven.

You see, your games are on a basic level. That EBWF World Championship sparkles so lovely in the light doesn’t it Punk? And there they were, your antithesis in Cena, your former mentor in Heyman, and in the center Lesnar with his big shinny belt. It must have felt like a four piece puzzle your limited perspective could finally see the conclusion of. So you took your moment, you rouse and staked your claim. It was your time to shine. After all the hype and hyperbole swirling around those empty vases, you were going to swoop in and smash them. Take something so pretty and wreck it. But oh my-my-my, sweet little prince, you didn’t take full measure of what was going on. And that isn’t your fault, it’s actually mine.

Jerry Lawler:
What is he talking about JR?

Jim Ross:
You got me King.

Bray Wyatt:
I admit. Your flaws and failures, they rest on my shoulders. Yes they do Punk, yes they do. It is my duty, my sworn oath to bring order and balance to this disastrous mess that is the EBWF landscape. I made a promise to Sister Abigail, in her final moments on this mortal plane, I kneeled beside her and I put my ear to her mouth, and in those final moments, she whispered to me – my last commandment – be the savior. Rescue the lost and the wayward, and bring them home. You see, I am accountable for you all. That is what being the savior means, that you must answer for the sins of others.

Jim Ross:
Oh give me a break!

Bray Wyatt:
Now, you may lay claim to being a saint, the Second City Savior even, but for you, it’s just some words on a t-shirt. You have no idea what it means to truly sacrifice yourself, to lay down your guard and accept the guilt of those around you. But that is what I do. Because I am a true savior. And ohhhh, blessed is he who looks after not only his own children, but the children of the wicked, for they are the souls needing salvation and protection the most. And you, you my child, you are the offspring of the wicked aren’t you? Your mother, your father, the disgraced – so filled with bile that you won’t even bring yourself to stand in their presence. You have brought the law into your little affair to keep them away. But why? Why Punk? Is that the question we’re all left wondering, “Why, Punk, Why?”

If you were a savior, would you not stand to them. Look them in the eyes and save their off course path? You would. But you didn’t. Because you are no savior, you are a fraud. As much as you spew your condemnation to the shallow and the hollow, the pretty faces and their chiseled bodies, the philanderers and the drunkards, you and I know the truth don’t we? That all the indignant rhetoric is just a mask. And you think it shields you from your true nature, but in reality, it only isolates you.

Your true nature Punk, is that at the end of the day, you are just like those you sit in judgment of. You don’t carry out these acts for altruistic purposes. No, you do it because you want that spotlight. You need that spotlight. But you fear your own failures. What happens if they don’t accept you? Than they are shallow. What happens if you fail to live up to your own hype? Than they are conspiring against you. You have set yourself to be a martyr. But just laying your life down doesn’t earn you martyrdom, no-no-no, that only comes if it is for selfless reasons. And yours are as petty and self serving as anyone else’s.

Jim Ross:
Bringing up Punk’s past is taking this too far.

Jerry Lawler:
He doesn’t have any respect JR.

Jim Ross:
Punk should be proud he over came difficulties in his personal life.

Bray Wyatt:
So what is the real question than Punk? If not “Why, Punk, Why?!” than what is at the root of my curiosity? It’s simple; What have you done? What have you done Punk? Why has fate brought us here, lead us to this moment, when the returning hero must face the Eater of Worlds?! Because it is simply not fair. Not fair to you, and not fair to me. This was to be your moment, your triumphant return to the squared circle, and you being one of my children, I want you to enjoy that moment. I wanted so badly for you to be able to relish your chance feeling like you belonged once again. Because even if your mind is filled with wasted thoughts and idle fantasies of being a “poster boy” – there is still something worth saving in you. I have seen glimpses of it. You are not beyond redemption. Which means Sister Abigail has charged me with your salvation. And I will fulfill my obligation to her. You will be redeemed, and be welcomed as one of my children.

But that is for another day. You see this right here, this is not our moment to come together. I have seen our destiny, and you are not ready to embrace the truth yet. So why have you been strapped to the railroad tracks, now just waiting for the terror train to arrive? There are others running after me; the Rodimer and Sandow team are knocking at my doors, because they so desperately need salvation. Sadly, both are beyond saving and beneath my status. Kevin Nash has become an obsessed predator hunting me. Hunting me? Or hunting notoriety? Either way, he will find his result soon enough. And then of course, there is the Lost Chapter, the newest member of the Wyatt Family who will soon reveal himself to the world. Around me the hurricane blows and levels this entire company, but there I sit, in the middle of the eye, calm and peaceful.

Until you. You have intruded on my serenity. You have been perhaps unwillingly forced to brave the storm and stand before me waiting for your judgment. How unfair. You see, there is nothing that hurts a parent more than having to discipline a child. When I lay my hands upon you, my soul will hurt far more than your body. Because I do not wish this upon you. I want to be your savior. I want to protect that tiny flickering light that is buried deep within you that has the potential to ignite a flame of virtuous warmth! I wanted you to have time, to grow and mature, to let that candle become a bonfire...but the powers that be, they had other plans. And here we are. You, the guilty child, and me the dutiful father. I must take you behind the barn to try and put you back on your path.

CM Punk, I will make this pain you suffer worth your while. The bruises will heal, the cuts will stop bleeding, but the lessons you learn – you have my permission to carry those lessons with you. Now get ready, because I bring to you that whoppin’ you so feared from your biological father. You won’t smell beer on my breath, but you will choke on the stench of my burden.

Daddy’s here.

Jim Ross:
That is a sick, twisted, excuse for a human being and I for one hope he –

[[The slights flicker and the jumbotron and sounds fo scratching, as if it were the beginning of Wyatt’s entrance happens. This time there is an all black room, and Erick Rowan’s sheep mask is seen on the tron standing in front of a lantern like Bray’s.]]

Jerry Lawler:
Hey! It’s Erick Rowan!

[[The figure slowly removes Erick Rowan’s mask to reveal it’s actually Kevin Nash standing there.]]

Kevin Nash:
Cincinatti, Ohio – I’m here!

[[The lights go black and once again the entire arena is dark. When the house lights finally come back up, Luke Harper is laying unconscious in the middle of the ring. Kevin Nash is standing at the top of the ramp holding a baseball bat. Bray Wyatt doesn’t flinch at all. He just locks eyes with Nash.]]

Jim Ross:
Bah gawd! Kevin Nash took out another member of the Wyatt Family! One left to go!

Jerry Lawler:
Oh I can’t wait to see Kevin Nash when he gets his payback on that cult freak!

[[Kevin gets a mic.]]

Kevin Nash:
Hey Bray! It looks like maybe someone forgot to tell you; it’s all fun and games living the Hashtag Nash Life, but when you awake the beast, you damn well better kill it, or it WILL kill you.

Bray Wyatt:
Kevin, you won’t kill me – let’s set aside the fact you couldn’t stop me – no, no, no, see you want me to succeed. The more carnage I inflict, the more celebrity you receive by association. And that’s all this is, isn’t it? An association. Like a power hungry deacon, he still needs to message to be delivered. You are desperate. Desperate to see me continue to thrive, and desperate to do whatever it takes to walk that path beside me – but never actually harm me. It’s why Luke Harper is laying on this mat right now and not me...because as much as you may hate me, you love the idea of milking this for all it’s worth even more.

[[Kevin’s smile has been replaced with a look of pure hatred.]]

Bray Wyatt:
So go ahead an posture, puff out your chest and thump it for these people. It’s what you were born to do…it’s why of everyone here, all the whores for fame, you are the worst of them all. Because no drug has slowed you, no friendships lost deterred you, no lives ruined phased you. Your only purpose, the sole thing that forces blood to continue to pump through your body, it’s your heart’s desire for those last fading moments in a dimming spotlight.

[[Bray drops the mic and then gets on his knees. He begins to shout “Come and get me! Do it! Be alive for once!” but Nash just looks at him.]]

Jim Ross:
Folks I don’t know what to say, don’t go anywhere. We’ll be right back.
