OOC: Not my best, but I got off the job late and failed to pull out something better, best of luck to Ben!

EBWF.Net Exclusive.

The EBWF Skull logo faded from black before the beautiful and quite diligent Renee Young appeared on set, which looked like a round booth with smooth red drapes decorating the background. The EBWF logo twirled around in a couple of LCD screens that hung from the ceiling behind her. Renee was clad in a salmon coloured dress and had a mic with the EBWF logo in her hand.

Renee Young: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome my guest: CM Punk.

The camera panned out slowly to show the straightedge superstar, already in his wrestling attire. His commander cobra tattoo on one arm, the pepsi logo on the other… Bandages knotted around his forearms and wrists, an X scribbled on the back of his hands. He nodded slowly as Renee finished introducing him.

Renee Young: Alright Punk, tonight we have a King of the Ring special “Total Recall” edition where you will be going against Chris Jericho in the main event. What was your reaction when you first knew of the draw?

Punk looked at Renee and smiled.

CM Punk: You know Renee, when you are the best wrestler in the world you have to be ready to face anyone: Wether is Wes Ikeda, Or Chris Jericho… You have to beat all and every single one of your opponents if you want to be King of the Ring. I’ll be honest. I am glad I got to face Chris Jericho in the first round of the tournament…

Renee Young: And why would that be?

CM Punk: Well, Renee… You would have thought by now the EBWF universe would have already realized that the golden rule around here is “Do not get in a war of words with CM Punk”. However, things have been said. Jokes have been made… I know I have a bit of a reputation of being a “Ring Grump” but… You all know I can crack a good joke from time to time, for example this one: Chris Jericho stands a chance tonight against me. Renee, this is the first time you and I have seen eye to eye, but let me tell you something… I do have a tongue like a switchblade razor… But you will witness this with your eyes Renee… I do my talking between the ropes. You see… I don’t take it lightly wen people call me a quitter, when people tell me I got scared and tired of the business I broke my skull while getting into… When they say that I took my ball and went home… It just makes me wonder.... Why?

Punk tilted his head to the side, his tongue flicked the inside of his mouth to rock the lip ring he wore left to right.

CM Punk: Why? I haven’t seen many people doubt Jesus or Buddha… I believe if Jesus can take a 2014 year -and counting- break, mankind would be just fine for a few months without CM Punk, right? Wrong. Just look at this place... Rated RKO are the longest reigning champions and probably held the title to "less title defenses", maybe even Edge holds the "Longest reigning champion with a lost title belt" record... Some EBWF fans might be like "Wait a minute, did we have a Tag team division?" My point is... people tend to forget easily. It’s one of the main characteristics of mankind that makes me the sociopathic jerk you say I am. But no worries… Here I am to remind you all those things you forgot… You too, Renee.

Renee Young: Do you think Chris Jericho has similar thoughts about facing you?

CM Punk: Chris Jericho and I have a lot of things in common. For example, we both have shown our abilities as natural-born leaders... We've led groups of men willing to take a shot for us. We both are extremely hard workers, living, breathing and if necessary bleeding for the business. We both have been world champions… We don’t settle for second place… We are relentless, we thrive to be the best in the business, the best wrestler in the world. But that is where the similarities end, that is where the line is drawn. Unlike Chris Jericho, I returned because I fully believe I can beat any superstar, on the mic, in the ring, in any kind of match stipulation without a shadow of a doubt! What I’m not sure about Jericho… Is if he truly believes in himself, or is he just desperate to have a taste from the good old days where he used to own this ring? Renee, do you happen to know how and why did Chris Jericho got into the King of the Ring tournament anyway? Was it when he crashed John Cena’s pijama party? Hm… Does his administrative position gives him certain advantages over the rest of the locker room? On the other hand, let us sum up how and why I got where I am, shall we Renee?

Renee Young: If you insist.

CM Punk: Let's see... Immediately after I returned I made both the World Champion and the Number one Contender know that I meant business. Couple of weeks later I defeated the longest reigning EBWF World Champion to become the number one contender for the Path To Glory Title… In three weeks I have done more than Jericho has done in months behind his desk. Between you and I Renee, the fact that I am back, doing what I do best has some of the boys in the back really, really icky. But don't worry... The fact I become King of the Ring and World Champion won't hurt your chances of appearing in a brand new Flintstones movie, trust me... When it comes to Hollywood I'd only be interested in playing a Zombie on "The Walking dead".

Punk winked at the Camera.

CM Punk: Now that we've gone through everything I have done in mere weeks, compared to the absolute nothingness Chris Jericho has achieved....a

Renee Young: Chris Jericho had quite a good Royal Rumble and...

CM Punk: No one ever remembers the last 2, just who won Renee... So, who’s the quitter? Who’s the moaner? The one who cowards behind a suit and a tie? Or the scrawny guy reading comic books on his couch in Chicago? Where was Chris Jericho when the Shield took this place and made it their playground? Where was Chris Jericho when Brock Lesnar began manhandling talent and destroying them recklessly?

CM Punk for a moment looked into the camera as if forgetting Renee existed, despite she had been bringing the microphone closer to his face.

CM Punk: And now you think you deserve another shot at the EBWF World Title? Maybe I am not giving your sense of humor the credit that it deserves. Chris Jericho and I, we are not strangers to each other in the ring... We know each other quite well, even if time has passed since the last time we met between those ropes and on that canvas.

Renee Young: Anything you remember you should be aware of when you and Chris match up?

CM Punk: Yeah, the Liontamer hurts like a BITCH. Also, he's fast as a feline and he's been doing that yoga thing lately so he can only get more agile. My main memory of every single match I have had with Chris Jericho is that he has brought me to the limit... Each and every single time we have met inside that ring, sparks have flown everywhere, the roof exploded, we stole the show. I like that, I like opponents that take my to my very limit, not only physically but mental as well... It's funny because guys like Jericho bring out the best in me, which turns out to be the worst for them.

Renee Young: Do you think that besides having made a point when you kicked Brock Lesnar and defeating Randy Orton for the PTG number one contendership give you an upper hand prior to this match?

CM Punk: Renee... I could stay here until the servers of the EBWF website are clogged with video footage of me listing up the things that give me the upper hand not against Chris Jericho, just like he used to to with that but against any opponent. But they will seem fairly obvious to you and everyone else once the bell rings. I would say the first and most important reason why I have the upper hand in tomorrow's match is the fact that I don't even have to win to become world champion... Instead of going through gruesome, physical matches to get to the top... I am two matches away from having John Cena in any match I want, whenever I like, wherever I want. I don't have to win this tournament to become World Champion... Unlike Chris Jericho, the King of the Ring tournament isn't the last ticket for the last train that will take me back to the place of greatness I belong to in the EBWF Universe... We might as well say that I am a step ahead not just from Jericho but a step ahead from every single one of the participants of this tournament. But despite having most of the odds going for me, despite the fact that even if Chris Jericho manages to beat me tonight... I still have it in my DNA... That need for more adrenaline, that hunger that drives me, that helps me thrive, that makes me the best wrestler in the EBWF in recent history. It's ingrained deep inside my brain, like a scratch on a DVD, it won't go away, no matter how much I try... I DO have to win this tournament, I will win this tournament, decimate every single EBWF superstar that stands in my way to become King of the Ring once again. Then I'll go on to Summerslam where the EBWF World Champion will have to put his money where his mouth is and face me... From where I see it, I'm stuck in a "win-win" situation... Because wether Chris Jericho, Wes Ikeda, Brock Lesnar, John Cena or whoever it is that I meet in the next rounds... I don't need to win this tournament to become World Champion. Now Renee... You've asked a lot of questions, let me ask you one question for us to wrap this up... Why do you think I have this almost physiological need, only equiparable to that of breathing, that need to win every single competition I am participating in? Do you happen to have any ideas?

Renee Young: Because you're the best in the world?

CM Punk: Because I'm THE BEST IN THE WORLD. Man you're such an upgrade from Michael Cole and the Coach... Renee, mind giving me your number for my friend Colt Cabana?

Punk looked at Renee and handed her a piece of paper, before leaning into the camera and winking as the scene faded to black.
