Something Short

Post by Tony S »

sorry for this crazy short one. didnt think i would be able to post. thank you to mcdonalds internet. lol fresh out of slammiversary. peace all.

Last week kicked off the start of EBWF's legendary King of the Ring Tournament. A lot of hard fought matches took place. A lot of me gave into the heat of the moment and gave everything they had. A lot of men's dream were made, but just as many dreams were dashed. This week, the next batch of dreams were going to be made, or broken as the King of the Ring Tournament rolled on through Des Moines, Iowa.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Warfare kicked off like any other Warfare. However, this wasn't like any other Warfare. This week continued the Superstar's King of the Ring brackets, but it also kicked off the Divas Queen of the Ring tournament. Excitement definitely filled the air inside the arena. Backstage was a different scene. Excitement was there, but the rush and urgency filled the hallways. This year's King and Queen of the Rings were taking over, and everyone wanted this year to be better than all the previous years. Stagehands ran cables through the halls, seamstress hemmed all the attires, make-up artist made the beautiful, gorgeous, and the cameramen rushed around as they tried to get shots. In side the arena, everyone just saw the matches, they had no clue to what went on to make those matches. How many hours of hard work went in to make a match that lasted a few minutes.

With all the chaos around, everyone still had their work to do, and one of EBWF's newest interviewers had to make sure she continued her job. Renee Young stood in front of the Warfare banner as the camera crew set up around her. She had a few touches made to her make-up just as her current guest walked up off camera. Renee looked up and saw him as he stood there and hurried everyone. The make-up was done, the cameras were set up, and a microphone was now in her hand. The signal was given and Renee began to speak.

Renee Young: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, tonight we kick off the Queen of the Ring tournament, but we also continue on with the King of the Ring. Tonight, I have with me a man that advanced last week with a victory over Diego. Chris Sabin.

Chris walked into the camera shot and smiled as he looked into the camera. He held up his hand and quickly gave a one gun salute into the camera. Renee smiled as she waited for Sabin.

Renee Young: Chris, first off I would like to say it's an honor to finally be able to interview you. You've created such a name for yourself in the wrestling world.
Chris Sabin: Well thank you Renee, it's nice to finally have a good looking woman doing the interview than some of the guys around here now. It's more relaxing and visually appealing.

Chris gave a smile and Renee smiled back. A second passed of silence until Renee finally spoke up about her first question.

Renee Young: Last week Chris, you were up against one half of Los Matadors in Diego. The two of you had a great match in my opinion, this week, I would have to say the challenge may be just a little bigger as you're going up against Wes Ikeda.
Chris Sabin: Renee, you're not the only one that thinks Wes is a bigger obsticle than Diego was, but regardless, Wes is an obsticle that I'm looking to fly right over.

Sabin took a slight pause as he looked towards the camera to make sure Wes heard about him wanting to fly over him. After a couple of seconds, Chris began to speak up again.

Chris Sabin: You see Renee, a lot of people might know this, but some might not. Wes and I, we go way back. I mean, we're both from Detroit. We both got into the business because we love wrestling. Heck we both started up roughly the same way. And not to mention we've hung out quite a few times. Wes, Alex Shelley, and I. We were the three guys that came into the wrestling world with a purpose. And that purpose was to show everyone that Detroit was where wrestling truly mattered. We wanted to put Detroit back on the wrestling map. And we did that. Alex and I, we took the tag team world by storm all over the world. Wes, he took this company, and a handle full of women by storm. It didn't matter what paths we took, all that mattered was us wanting everyone to remember and respect us, and the city where we fought hard to make it.
Renee Young: Last week, I interviewed Wes and he mentioned that out of the you and Diego, he did want to wrestle you. Do you think he meant it was a good or a bad thing?
Chris Sabin: I hope that he meant it as a good thing, but with Wes you can never tell. I mean, it's awesome that I'm going up against Wes, but Aries and I go way back too. We've wrestled some amazing matches and I know that the EBWF Universe would have loved to have seen that. But I know Wes and I are going to give these people more than they paid for. And if Wes is like me, he's going to go out there tonight and wrestle this match like it's the finals already.
Renee Young: Now let's say that you were to beat Wes tonight, next you'd face either The Miz or Ted Dibiase. Which of those two would you want to wrestle?
Chris Sabin: Wow, who would I want to wrestle, Miz or Ted? That's a tough one.

Sabin paused for a second and looked upwards as he was trying to think about the question. It's not that it was a tough question, it's just, both men would give him a run for his money, and both men would be a learning experience.

Chris Sabin: Both men are former World Heavyweight Champions. Both men have held numerous championships here in EBWF and in other promotions. I know The Miz is a tough competitor and I know that he would be a hard one to go against. But Ted is equally as tough and would give me a rough time as well. So honestly Renee, no matter who I would rather go up against, it's going to be a tough match for me to even dream of winning. That's why, I don't know if I could pick someone that I would want to face.

But first things first, I have to get through Wes Ikeda tonight. Another former World Heavyweight Champion. Another man that's done a million and one things for this company and other companies. That's why this King of the Ring Tournament is a big deal. It's not an easy thing to win, and it shouldn't be. The King of the Ring needs to be a man that can beat anyone and everyone. The King of the Ring needs to be someone that can go that extra mile whenever everyone else is already out of gas. Especially when it comes to the King of the Ring pay per view. That is were we separate the men and boys. That's where the real heart shines through and the real fighters come out. You have to win two matches in one night. A feat that the average competitor is not able to handle. But just like all the previous King of the Ring winners, I'm not average. I'm not just another name that just walked through the door. I'm Chris Sabin. I've come back from countless injuries. I've fought back through the pain and the sweat to make it here tonight. I fight with all my heart to make sure that I was ready to come back for this tournament, and I'm not ready to be knocked out. I said last week I wasn't going to be knocked out in the first round, and I wasn't. Now, I stand here before you, Renee, and I say that I'm not ready to be knocked out in the second round either. So Wes, tonight it's not going to be a reunion of brothers. Tonight, it's going to be a fight between Detroit's finest. Tonight, we both want to advance and only one of us can. So I know I'm going to fight with every last drop of blood in my system. I will expect nothing less from you.Tonight, it will be time to Hail Sabin!

Sabin stared into the camera as if he was only talking to Wes Ikeda.

Renee Young: Wow, some strong words there. And I'd like to wish all the best for you tonight Chris. Good luck out there.
Chris Sabin: Thank you Renee.

The camera stayed in one position as Chris Sabin exited off screen to the right. Renee stood there for a few seconds before the feed cut off and headed back to ringside.
