Sami Zayn vs. CJ Parker

Post by Raza »

It’s August 31 where the SummerSlam pay-per-view is taking place at The Pit in Albuquerque, New Mexico. CJ Parker, Alexa Bliss and Emma have already picked up wins in their respective matches and up next was Syxx defending his Intercontinental Championship against number one contender, Sami Zayn. After saying his piece on the microphone and a back and forth match taking place between the two it was Sami Zayn who came very close to defeating Syxx by signalling for the Helluva Kick and the fans were on their feet expecting this to be the end, bit Syxx being the resilient champion he is fought back by hitting a Super Kick and followed it up with the X-Factor to retain his Intercontinental Championship.

Syxx celebrated inside the ring with his championship and Symphony as the cameras cut to a close up of Sami Zayn who was sat on the bottom of the ramp breathing heavily and shaking his head a little, knowing he came so close to becoming champion but wasn’t able to capitalise. He slammed the ground with his left fist to let out a little bit of frustration before smiling and nodding his head in agreement that he wasn’t the better man on the night. He stood up and high fived some of the fans who were disappointed with the result but Zayn applauded the fans for their support throughout the week and then aimed his applause at Syxx who was still in the ring, acknowledging the close match they had. He walked on to the stage and looked back down to the ring and then around the arena before disappearing through the curtains and into the backstage area.

He walked through the backstage area with his head in his hands as EBWF personnel approached him to congratulate him on the effort out there. He continued to walk and he knew he had to go to Renee Young who was waiting for him in the interview area in front of a number of monitors with the EBWF logo on them; he smiled at her she approached as they shook hands to begin the interview which would go on air relatively soon to the fans in attendance and fans watching on their television sets from all over the world.

RENEE YOUNG
Ladies and gentlemen, my guest at this time…Sami Zayn. Sami, you came THIS close to defeating Syxx out there; we believed it and it sounded like the fans believed that you probably were one kick away from becoming the new champion; what are your thoughts?

SAMI ZAYN
Well Renee, as close as it was, it obviously wasn’t close enough or even good enough. It might’ve been a different story if I did hit the Helluva Kick on Syxx but the truth of the matter is…I didn’t. It could have been this close or a one-sided beat down, the result is the same and Syxx will walk out of The Pit with his championship intact, so kudos to him. It doesn’t feel good, but what can you do? You can’t dwell on these losses otherwise you won’t be successful, he beat me and I’ll walk into Warfare; if I have a match, with a smile on my face ready to give it my all against whomever my opponent is. It sucks right now, but I’m pleased with the way I went about my business and pleased with that great match.

RENEE YOUNG
What do you bring your loss down to? Overconfidence? Complacency? Underestimating Syxx?

SAMI ZAYN
You could say, it was a combination of all of those. I wouldn’t say I was overconfident in a sense where I expected to walk out with the belt with ease, that was never going to be the case; but it was more self-belief, walking into a match with someone like Syxx for a prestigious championships EXPECTING to win is different to BELIEVING you can win, if you don’t believe the likelihood is you’ll get your ass kicked. I did get complacent, I did underestimate Syxx but that’s a learning curve for me, he showed me things in that ring some of the best aren’t able to do, I got proven wrong and I love it, nobody likes an easy opponent and let me tell you, Syxx was far from that.

RENEE YOUNG
Well, we know you and Syxx had strong words for each other in the build-up, some could say disrespect, have your opinions on the champion changed?

SAMI ZAYN
Ha…definitely strong words, we sold this match which is a positive. Disrespect? I wouldn’t say I disrespected him, I did what any younger superstar would do and try to get unto the head of a veteran, play mind games, get under his skin so he takes you seriously and I think, I hope…Syxx took me seriously tonight because as good as that match was and as much respect I do have for him, deep down I think he knows I’m not one to rest, or stay sitting on my ass. I’ll be back for Syxx, and that championship and he knows it. I just hope he can keep hold of the belt long enough for me to get another crack on it because this isn’t over until I bring home that championship I know full and well I can capture…tonight just wasn’t that night, Renee.

RENEE YOUNG
Thank you and commiserations Sami, back to you guys at ringside.

Sami walked off after shaking Renee’s hand again and walked towards his locker room to cool himself down after his loss. He walked in and sat down, scratching his beard a little but wasn’t angry at the fact he lost, more disappointed. Sami picked up his phone and tried to switch it on but the screen was just switching from purple to green, he then smacked the back of the cell phone on to his palm but it still switched between purple and green, out of pure frustration Sami threw the phone on to the other side of the room as the battery went flying out and the screen shattered. He slumped into his seat and picked up a remote, switching the television on to watch the remainder of the pay-per-view.

An hour or so later Sami switched off the television as he watched John Cena retain his EBWF World Championship in a brutal three stages of hell match. He then grabbed a towel and buried his head in it, wiping away the sweat from his forehead and his neck before slumping back into his chair. He then smacked his hands on his thighs to pump himself up and remain enthusiastic about the situation and then stood up and pulled out his bag and started to unlace his boots and take off the tape from his wrists. He then took off his blazer, jeans, t-shirt and flat cap from the stand and proceeded to get changed.

Moments later Sami Zayn emerged from his locker room and shut the door behind him as the EBWF personnel were starting to pack the equipment away after another successful event. He met some of the staff and engaged in small conversation before moving on, proceeding to his car but he was stopped in his tracks by one of the bookers in the EBWF, Shane McMahon.

SHANE MCMAHON
Sami! My man! What a performance out there, you’re a great sport and your name is on the lips of many fans now my friend.

SAMI ZAYN
Yeah Shane, it was a good match; if you do see Syxx give him my best that was…that was a great test and one I’m sure I’ll run into in the near future…if you keep booking me on Warfare…

SHANE MCMAHON
Which is EXACTLY why I stopped you before you left. Try getting a good night’s sleep, we need you fresh for tomorrow night in Las Vegas, you will be on the Monday Night Warfare pre-show with Renee around…fifteen minutes before Warfare goes on air.

SAMI ZAYN
What, that’s all? A spot on the pre-show? That’s all well and good for now but I can’t afford staying on a pre-show when I need to do whatever I can to come off a big loss like this tonight.

SHANE MCMAHON
Hold your horses Sami, I appreciate your enthusiasm and determination so let me tell you that you are definitely competing tomorrow night, you are up…fourth, after Tyler Breeze and Ryback you will go up against CJ Parker.

SAMI ZAYN
Oh Lord, CJ Parker?

SHANE MCMAHON
Is that a problem? You don’t have much of a choice here Sami you either compete or you don’t? IS there a problem? Ah, considering you’ve travelled a lot I am guessing you know him?

SAMI ZAYN
Oh I know CJ alright, too well for that matter. Nope. No problem at all, it should be…interesting.

Sami then started to scratch his head and muttered something under his breath.

SAMI ZAYN
Looks like I’ll be needing to rent out a Hybrid car to use tomorrow I guess.

SHANE MCMAHON
What…I don’t understand?

SAMI ZAYN
Ah, you’ve never met CJ Parker have you, Shane? Oh, trust me; you will LOVE him; he smells fantastic too.

Shane shook Sami’s hand as the two went in opposite directions, Shane heading into his office whilst Sami Zayn, with a smirk on his face, went towards the parking lot to travel to the next city to arrive well in time for Monday Night Warfare.

It’s Monday 8 September and EBWF is visiting the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada after a blockbuster pay-per-view in SummerSlam went down in the record books less than 24 hours ago. Monday Night Warfare is due to begin in less than twenty minutes time and the cameras are already rolling after a short break near the fans where a table is set up with Renee Young, who is hosting the Warfare pre-show and as the cameras are back on Renee who is already welcoming the fans back.

RENEE YOUNG
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back and we are around…eighteen minutes away from Monday Night Warfare going live and to continue looking back at last night’s incredible SummerSlam pay-per-view and to look forward to the night we have in store for you is none other than Mr. Sami Zayn; Sami welcome back to the pre-show.

SAMI ZAYN
Thank you for having me here again, Renee.

RENEE YOUNG
Not a problem, well Sami as we all know last night you were unable to take the Intercontinental Championship from Syxx; which has probably been a bitter pill to swallow, how does a big loss like that prepare you for another match less than 24 hours later?

SAMI ZAYN
Well Renee you said it, it is a bitter pill to swallow when you’re this close to achieving a dream but it just wasn’t meant to be and Syxx deserves to hold the gold right now, nobody can take that away from him, least of all me but as I said last night, Syxx knows I’ll be back and better than ever. As for tonight and preparation well I’m not sure how many people tuning in know, but I am in action tonight and preparation coming off a loss is always easier than preparation coming off a win. I know, momentum and form and whatnot but as a winner you have an extra added weight of doing something more special and needing a win to show it wasn’t a fluke. Coming off a big, championship loss means you just need to clear your head a little and if you lose, you lose from a loss and you’re just having a rough patch which you’re bound to overcome if you love this business like I do, I am sure of victory tonight.

RENEE YOUNG
Well, Sami your opponent tonight is one of the EBWF’s newest signings, CJ Parker who did pick up a big victory last night against the veteran that is Mr. Kennedy; word is that you already know him before you joined the EBWF? And what is your game plan heading into the match especially since you’re coming off the back of a big loss and CJ is heading into this match with a big win under his belt.

SAMI ZAYN
Yeah and it was a good, solid debut victory for CJ as well and he is a…unique individual isn’t he? I do know him as a matter of fact we’ve been in some promotions together, had a few matches here and there so I think there is chemistry there between us so the fans should be in for a good match; he’s a solid competitor. What I think he brings is that he is what he is, it is as simple as that. He believes in going green and saving planet earth and all of that which some of us don’t believe as strongly in or even follow; I mean if he was here now Renee he’d probably be giving you a lecture on earth and how we could save the forests and how the EBWF crew should be using energy saving light bulbs so I guess it’s good that you don’t have to hear him right now, but trust me when CJ opens his mouth; 1. You will need to hold your nose because the man hasn’t heard of a shower and 2. Wear an eye mask or something? His constant lectures and bashing of going green and recycling and stuff actually does come to some use in the form of a bedtime story, so there’s something to look forward too.

RENEE YOUNG
So, there’s no animosity between yourself and CJ Parker?

SAMI ZAYN
Animosity is a strong word, I mean he’s a good guy and all but he’s just…different. He’s not someone I would want to hang out with but inside that ring, put me in with anyone and I will give them the greatest challenge of their careers, tonight it is CJ Parker in our first match together in EBWF and it certainly won’t be the last.

RENEE YOUNG
Well Sami, before you leave us to go and prepare for your match against CJ Parker, in front of you is an iPad if you could kindly guide us through last night’s matches between you and Syxx as well as CJ Parker and Mr. Kennedy and what the fans have to look forward to.

SAMI ZAYN
Well, my technology skills are something to look out for if you need a good laugh, well yeah when the camera zooms in you can see with CJ he often…well…uh…what is this…

Sami Zayn is bashing the screen of the tablet as it begins to flash green and purple again as it looks to have crashed on him live on the pre-show. He starts to hit it for it to work again but without any luck as time is running out.

RENEE YOUNG
Well we are unable to show you that right now with only a few moments left until Monday Night Warfare goes live plus Sami needs to prepare for his match with CJ Parker later on tonight so please stay tuned to Warfare for that. Sami, commiserations on your loss last night but good luck in tonight’s match.

SAMI ZAYN
Thank you, Renee.

The cameras for the pre-show go off as Sami Zayn takes the microphone clip off of his blazer and begins to scratch his head wondering why it crashed on him again, a technician walks towards him and starts to mess around with it as it begins to work perfectly. Sami looks confused but with little time left he rushes off from the set to prepare for his match with CJ Parker later on in the evening.

- - - - - - -

We are well into Monday Night Warfare with three matches having already taken place, the cameras are backstage before the fourth match of the evening between CJ Parker and Sami Zayn. The cameras pan up from the ground up, finally panning up to the smiling face of Sami Zayn who will be speaking before and after the commercial.

SAMI ZAYN
After the upcoming commercial I am sure will be extended, I am going to be competing against CJ Parker. Now typically I’d expect this to be an old school wrestling match, back and forth, fast paced action to keep you, the fans, entertained for every single second we are inside that ring. From the moment the music hits up until the moment one of us disappears through the curtain. But with CJ Parker…it’s different. You don’t know what to expect from the “dude”, I could be walking down that ramp heading into a dance battle, his dance moves do trump mine that’s for sure. It could be a ‘who can recycle the most plastic bottles inside a minute’ match, I am sure he’d be happy with that, thinking you’re all doing your bit for the good of the planet when in reality that should be the least of his worries. After the commercial the only thing CJ needs to focus on is avoiding the sole of my boot because if it hits him square on the jaw it’s over just like that. You can focus on recycling and saving the earth once we’re finished tonight; I will love nothing more than tossing you or your career into one of our many landfills. I’ll see you in that ring soon CJ; and remember guys…there’s no planet B.

Sami gave a cheesy grin and thumbs up to the camera as it faded to black heading into a commercial break.

After the commercial break World’s Apart by CFO$ blasts the PA system as Sami Zayn emerges on to the stage with the fans clapping along with his theme music as he makes his way down the ramp quickly. He grabs a microphone from the announcer’s desk and running up the steel steps and into the ring, dancing badly inside the ring along with his music as it fades out ready for him to speak.

SAMI ZAYN
Las Vegas, how’s everyone doing tonight? Great turnout here as expected and I hope you’re all enjoying the show, last night was a defeat that was difficult to take. I could have either been in my bed with my face in my pillow bawling my eyes out that I lost or I could be standing in this ring and not make the same mistake twice, as you can see I picked option two because I am here tonight to take on…CJ Parker who I am sure you are all aware of by now, so keep your plastic bottles and signs hidden, there’s your warning before CJ gets here. Look, I mean I am all for ‘going green’ and stuff, I’m a good sport when it comes to it, and don’t get me wrong I’m not one of those who feels the need to travel in a 4X4 to get to Walmart to pick up a nice air freshener and drive all the way back. But what I don’t seem to be a fan of is how you feel the need to force your lifestyle upon others, I appreciate all of the advantages but the disadvantages outweigh them; the biggest one being we have to listen to you whining about how we’re killing our planet and how there is no planet B, we know that CJ so let these people live on their planet however the hell they want to.

I can’t help but think you have no idea what you’re even talking about CJ, I mean sure please preach to us how we’re helping the environment, doing our bit by recycling a plastic bottle or two but the fact is it will be a huge truck that parks up and takes that recycling away. Oh hold on a second people, CJ would probably want you to know that electric cars are the future! Yes and why wouldn’t they be? I mean we have so many power plants running on pure unicorn magic dust that we can all use that to shift our energy consumption for everything we need to use it for, right? In fact CJ, you’re probably guilty of doing it as much as we all are. You just have the image of a hippy who wants to save the world and because your beat ass is just too lazy to shower in the morning you feel the need to bring us down to your level and it isn’t going to happen CJ.

All you’ve been doing is moving from promotion to promotion to promotion and handing out some fancy buzz words that you think these people would just love to hear because some of them love to think they’re doing their part all while not having to do jack, Green, a huge buzz word, you know what how about everyone just plant a green sticker on their chest and we can all feel how a sticker is saving the world. It’s all nonsense and even you don’t believe in this garbage, I’ll be saving the EBWF Universe from you because I won’t be planting a green sticker on your chest but I’ll be planting a Helluva Kick on your face.

Fans begin to cheer as Sami walks around the ring confidently, believing in everything he is saying before talking once more.

SAMI ZAYN
There is not going to be a rebirth of the EBWF because as far as I am aware this company was running very smoothly long before we could smell the body odour enter the building. Mr. Kennedy may have done nothing in his career in your eyes but you know as well as I do from our time in other promotions that the last thing on your mind when you step into this ring with me is saving the planet, you’ll be running all over the ring and behind the referee trying to save your own ass not planet earth. I don’t need teaching a single thing from somebody like you, and I am pretty sure none of these people want to be taught by you either so this whole idea of wanting to dominate, you can get that idea out of your head right now because we’re not failing, you are. You’ll probably make a much better activist or a lecturer of some sort rather than attempting to cut it out as a big superstar in this company because truth be told, you’re not. It is as simple as that CJ because nobody hear will or ever does take you seriously because of your silly little antics; and that shows that you’ll be the only reason you never make it to the top. I have goals and aspirations, my goals and aspirations revolve around victories, around championships and around fans whereas yours revolve around putting people to sleep, recycling and trying to save a cause which just won’t happen, you’re wasting your own time and quite frankly tonight you’ll be wasting my time but I will enjoy every single minute I have inside this ring with you and it will be very satisfying when the referee does eventually give me the three count. I’ll just have to say it in a way only you could understand, I’ll defeat you in this ring and recycle you and this thing you call a career.

Fans cheer for Sami Zayn who is all smiles in his wait for CJ Parker. The fans are chanting his name as he walks around the ring and warming up with the ropes, as he does so the fans are left a little confused as the entire arena darkens and attentions are turned towards the titan-tron where a still image of Sami Zayn is being shown, as Sami looks on in pure confusion as to whatever it is that’s going on in the wait for CJ Parker.
