One Big Chance

A local gym where a heavy amount of lifts were taking place. And to accompany all of this aggression was a very aggressive tune, namely Slipknot's "Devil and I". It was the soundtrack to Alexa Bliss's work out for this afternoon. To match all of this hostility she was dressed entirely in black, a black tank top with a dire looking skull on it and solid black gym shorts and even black running shoes. A deep breath was taken as she lifted and lifted and utilized the various gym equipment and machines around her. Even her expression was a little more hard than her almost always cheery self. She was coming off of a win over the Tag Team Champions, along with Emma, but it wasn't quite the decisive victory that the duo was hoping for. Everyone was still going to look at them as the wonky girl with the weird dance moves and the cutesty little pixie. But Warfare could change all of that. If she could defeat Michelle McCool, the reigning Women's Champion, she could turn some heads and almost certainly put herself in line for a title shot. So focus, attention and a cut throat attitude were all essential. But as Alexa continued her workout it was obvious that her heart wasn't into it. Her shoulders slumped and her arms hung limply towards the floor.
Alexa Bliss: I can't do this.
It wasn't the working out part. That wasn't difficult at all for someone who used to make their living as a fitness model. It was putting forth this persona. It just was not her. Not in the least. Success was going to have to come with being exactly who she was. That big, room filling smile returned to her face as she stood tall, or as tall as someone as small as her could, and waved a sprinkle of 'pixie dust' over herself. After a couple of sparkle effects her dreary gym clothes were replaced by something much more vibrant, glittery. Black had been replaced by blue and white.
Alexa Bliss: That feels so much better! Now I'm ready!
One fist was pressed against her hip as a fist thrust it's way towards the ceiling, one of her magical girl poses. She went swaying her way out of the gym and upon exiting the establishment she was greeted by a bright sun. With a finger resting on her chin, she began to search about for something. A few taps of thought were given before an idea seemingly sprung into her mind. Holding out her palms, she puckered her lips and blew into them, sending more pixie dust out into the afternoon sky. Somehow, the dust was able to summon Todd Grisham, microphone in hand, who looked about as confused as anyone would in this kind of situation. Alexa, hands resting behind her back, just gave him a perky smile.
Todd Grisham: Did you..I mean..what?
Todd looked all around him, trying to grasp the nature of his pixie dust induced teleportation.
Alexa Bliss: I have something on my mind for my very important match. I hope you don't mind taking this interview on such short notice.
Given that being angry with Alexa would make you some kind of puppy hating Nazi, Todd reluctantly agreed. And, honestly, it's probably not the strangest thing that has happened to him in pro wrestling.
Todd Grisham: A-Alright. Well, apparently, I'm here with Alexa Bliss. Alexa, you have a huge challenge to overcome Monday night at Warfare. You're facing Women's Champion Michelle McCool in a non-title match. To be honest, you have everything to gain here and nothing to lose.
Alexa Bliss: I'm going to have to disagree with you there, Todd.
Todd Grisham: Oh?
Alexa Bliss: This is a big opportunity for me, that's true. If I defeat Michelle McCool I am going to set myself for a title match. But, if I lose, who knows when I would get another chance like this? Everyone who doubts me and underestimates me would be proven right and that seems to be a lot of people.
Todd Grisham: You are definitely the underdog here. Michelle is coming off a huge successful title defense. Not only that, but she's got quite the height advantage.
Alexa Bliss: Todd, I'm always the underdog! That's always going to be the case. However, I think it can work to my advantage. You see, I noticed a few things about Michelle during her promo. She didn't really insult me. I mean, she called me the runt of the division and that's actually true and she called me a Smurf but that's not TOO bad. She didn't call me a little girl or a midget, or a Teen Barbie, or all the other things that I've been called since I've shown up. She even said she wanted to hug me! I'll be glad to give her a hug! ..After I pin her Monday night.
The blue fairy placed her hands onto her his and nodded firmly
Alexa Bliss: Michelle is full of confidence right now, and she should be confident, but she made it sound like I was just some little kid. She's TOO confident and she's not viewing me as a threat at all. That is how someone like me can tip-toe up, very sneaky, and steal a win over someone like her.
Todd Grisham: You've been criticized as not showing enough aggression in the past.
Alexa Bliss: Maybe so but I want to win on my own terms! I can't be Michelle or a Bella just like they can't be me. Michelle would look pretty dopey running around in my tutu, right?
Todd slowly squinted his eyes at the visual.
Todd Grisham: Can't..really..argue with that.
Alexa Bliss: Variety! Not everyone is a super serious, no-fun having athlete, rawr I'm a dinosaur type of wrestler, okay?
Alexa stretched her arms out and took a few, wide, long steps forward as if she were rampaging through a very tiny city.
Todd Grisham: ..Dinosaur?
Alexa Bliss: I was trying to go with something big and tall. But, listen, I want to win as much as anyone else, and I want to be a champion but being a ruthless killer just isn't who I am. If I had scary music and I didn't smile and I glared all the way down to the ring, would that really change anything? Nope! So I just embrace who I am. There are people like me and Emma who are just a little bit different and do things our own way. And Monday night I'm going to do my best to prove that a five foot nothing, happy, magic girl CAN defeat the Women's Champion! All it takes is skill and ability and trust me when I tell you that I have a planet full of that!
Alexa struck one of her elaborate Sailor Moon inspired poses.
Alexa Bliss: So! Michelle McCool! In the name of justice, bliss and love, I will--
The blonde paused and those vibrant blue eyes of hers gave a few confused blinks. Her brow began to furrow.
Alexa Bliss: ..E-Erm. Honestly, Michelle took me so lightly that I don't even have anything to 'punish' her for! She called me cute! How am I supposed to be upset? Gah. Anyway! Michelle! After Warfare you are going to have to look in the mirror and realize that a 'cute, little smurf' took you down. Then, when you put your title on the line, you will have to come to grips that a 'cute, little smurf' dethroned you!
Todd Grisham: A lot on the line Monday night for Warfare. Alexa Bliss can pull off a huge upset and potentially become a title contender or Michelle McCool can continue her dominance. Either way, you don't want to miss it.
Alexa Bliss: Want to go back where you came from, Todd?
Alexa took a deep breath and was prepared to send some more pixie dust towards the interviewer but he quickly stepped backwards in alarm and held up his hands.
Todd Grisham: PLEASE GOD NO. I..mean..no..it's fine..I'll walk..
Todd quickly departed and Alexa simply shrugged. Her potential 'David and Goliath' story was ready to unfold very shortly.
Alexa Bliss: I can't do this.
