Triple Threat

Post by Raza »

It’s Monday 15 September, Monday Night Warfare is taking place at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon and the first match saw the returning Bray Wyatt pick up the victory over Mankind. The following match was between two of the independent’s brightest talents as Sami Zayn took on Jay Briscoe, after some strong words from Sami before the match it ended with Sami Zayn introducing his Koji Clutch to the EBWF Universe, leaving Jay Briscoe no choice but to submit giving Sami Zayn the victory. As World’s Apart hit the PA system, Sami Zayn celebrated inside the ring before EBWF went to commercial. Sami stayed inside the ring and on to the top turnbuckle to please the crowd before jumping back on to the canvas and applauding and pumping his fist towards the crowd. He left the ring and slapped hands with some of the fans closer to the barricade before disappearing through the curtains and walking towards the interview area with his hands on his hips as Renee Young waited for the cameras to start rolling, once they did the post-match interview with Sami Zayn began.

RENEE YOUNG
Ladies and gentlemen my guest at this time, Sami Zayn. Sami, another impressive victory out there against someone you know pretty well in Jay Briscoe; what are your thoughts on that victory?

SAMI ZAYN
Any victory is a good victory Renee, I thought I controlled that match at my own pace and I believe the right guy walked out of the match as the winner.

RENEE YOUNG
Well we are now less than two weeks away from the annual Destiny pay-per-view; what do you hope to achieve by then or compete with on the night?

SAMI ZAYN
Yeah, there’s not very long left is there Renee? Less than two weeks, one final Monday Night Warfare remaining to do something which everyone remembers and who knows, maybe I will be in a big match or maybe I’ll be standing in the back handing out bottles of water to the guys, but I’m sure it’ll be a great event whatever happens.

RENEE YOUNG
Well we look forward to see what you have in store for us next time after that submission victory tonight, back to you guys.

Sami shook Renee’s hand as he walked away backstage with some time left until the show ends. He walked towards his locker room and walked in, sitting on a chair and putting a towel over his face and leaning back, breathing in and out after his tiring match. As he wipes the sweat off of his face there was a knock on the door as Sami jumped a little off his seat, turning the volume down of the show, watching the match between Alexa Bliss and Michelle McCool.

SAMI ZAYN
Come in!

After a second or two, Shane McMahon bursts through the door on his phone, laughing with some paperwork in his hands, shutting the door behind him and slamming the papers down on the table next to Sami.

SHANE MCMAHON
Sorry about that Sami, how you doing? Great match out there…now what am I looking for? Ah yes, this here is what I’ve been told to hand over to you. Your schedule for next week which you need to adhere to and make sure you turn up to each event on time.

SAMI ZAYN
And what do I have this week?

SHANE MCMAHON
Well, that’s the beauty of it, you have absolutely nothing going on. All you’ll probably be doing is hanging out at home and working out at the Performance Center, that’s about it.

SAMI ZAYN
So…this is a lighter way of telling me I am not needed? Or your more-successful sister couldn’t tell me to my face that those videos going around are still being pinned on me?

SHANE MCMAHON
Come on Sami, that’s not the case. Look, you’re getting some time off, be grateful for that but yeah I know you love competing but take a week off. In fact it’s barely a week, you’re still scheduled to appear on Warfare next week on the pre-show with Renee and after that, you’re schedule will be updated and I will let you know.

SAMI ZAYN
I appreciate you are just doing your job, you’re giving the people what they want but let me do what you’re paying me to do, let me go out there and compete, I mean sure I am fine with not competing on Warfare next week but you heard Renee out there earlier, Destiny isn’t too far away and I’d hate not to be on it and watch everyone else have the time of their lives.

SHANE MCMAHON
Sami, we are working on it, it shouldn’t be too long before you find out so hold your horses, calm down and relax. We will work something out, now go; catch the rest of the show and head home.

Sami shook Shane’s hand and smiled as he sat back down whilst Shane walked out of the locker room. He continued to watch the show until its conclusion before getting changed and packing his things, he scanned the locker room to make sure he hasn’t left anything behind before shutting the door behind him and heading to the parking lot. Throwing his luggage into the car and leaving Portland to head home and rest up for what should be an interesting two weeks ahead.

It’s now Monday 22 September, Warfare will be taking place at the Centurylink Arena in Boise, Idaho where all attention is on EBWF World Champion John Cena as he responds to CM Punk and his desire to challenge for the gold at Destiny. But before all of the glitz and the glamour Warfare brings to us every single week can bring, the pre-show must take place where the regular host Renee Young is in her seat with a big smile on her face as the cameras begin rolling thirty minutes before the show goes live; alongside her is Sami Zayn.

RENEE YOUNG
We are now only six days away from the annual Destiny pay-per-view but before that we stop at Warfare one last time where the fate of the EBWF World Championship will be decided. Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Monday Night Warfare pre-show, I’m your host Renee Young and with me for the next half hour or so is none other than Sami Zayn.

SAMI ZAYN
Great to be here Renee! What a great night we have ahead of us and a lot of things to be excited for with Destiny only days away.

RENEE YOUNG
Well as you said there is a lot to look forward to starting with tonight, Daniel Bryan takes on Bray Wyatt, Jay Briscoe – a man you defeated last week – takes on Justin Gabriel, someone else you know pretty well. AJ Lee takes on Emma whilst Ryback and Daniel Rodimer are set to meet head on and in our main event The Miz takes on Edge. What are your thoughts on the matches and what could happen in these matches heading into Destiny?

SAMI ZAYN
Well everyone will want to pick up a win if they’re competing on Sunday, you need momentum to do so and we have some great match-ups tonight. Bray Wyatt, a very intriguing character up against Daniel Bryan. I know Daniel, I know he’s a fighter and I know he won’t let these mind games affect him in the slightest. I also want to keep my eye on the Jay Briscoe and Justin Gabriel match, a great match with two different yet entertaining styles. But Renee, I think what people are talking about the most is the decision, John Cena responds to CM Punk tonight.

RENEE YOUNG
Indeed he does Sami, as a superstar in the EBWF what do you think John Cena will say tonight to CM Punk?

SAMI ZAYN
I think John Cena will be John Cena, John will accept the challenge tonight and I think…we could see a new champion on Sunday.

RENEE YOUNG
A very bold prediction from Sami Zayn, but focusing on you now; what is going on? There’s no rush to leave tonight as you’re not competing?

SAMI ZAYN
You are correct Renee, no match for me tonight and I’ll be watching closely as a fa. As for Destiny, again I cannot answer that right now, if I am in or not, remains to be seen but I hope the board are keeping the faith in me after that whole arena hacking debacle which I think was just a harmless prank. It just feels weird missing out on my first Warfare since signing but I’m trying to enjoy my time off.

The two continue to talk throughout the remainder of the pre-show. Once the show goes live both Renee and Sami unclip their microphones and leave the area; Sami walks backstage as the EBWF staff are busy making sure the show runs smoothly. As he continues to walk he is stopped by Stephanie McMahon who wants to have a quick word with him.

STEPHANIE MCMAHON
Glad I ran into you Sami, the past week has been pretty quiet so I believe you, I think you’re right about it all being a prank so you’re clean and don’t worry about anything now, enjoy the rest of the show.

Sami continued to walk as he headed towards his locker room. Inside, he sat down on the couch and relaxed with his feet up, watching the match between Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan until he heard his phone chime; receiving an e-mail from Shane McMahon marked with high importance which he started to read immediately.

SHANE MCMAHON
“Hi Sami, hope you’re well. Didn’t have much time to drop by during the week but I hope you enjoyed your week off – a well-deserved week off. Now, to put you out of your misery I suggest you get packing boy because you WILL be competing at Destiny this Sunday. You are in the #1 contenders match for the Intercontinental Championship and you will be up against Ted DiBiase and Chris Sabin so the three of you need to make sure it’s a fantastic match; it’s your biggest chance to get Syxx inside that ring once more. Along with this, on Saturday the EBWF website will be doing a feature piece with you and a couple of other superstars, so the crew will be spending the Friday, Saturday and part of Sunday with you in a video diary piece. So you’ll be taking them everywhere, when you work out, travelling in general, dinner and more importantly AXXESS where you will be on the microphone. After that, the floor is yours on Sunday. Say what you’ve been told and put on a great performance, good luck kid.”

Sami Zayn laughed to himself and threw a fist in the air as he got up off the couch in celebration of his big match at Destiny in six days, where he goes up against Ted DiBiase and Chris Sabin. He sat back down and continued watching the remainder of the show before he meets up with the EBWF crew on Friday for the video diary where they spend a day with Sami Zayn.

- - - - - - -

It’s now Friday 26 September at the EBWF Headquarters; it’s just turned 4AM and the EBWF cameras are rolling, starting from the ground panning upwards as the video diary ‘A day with Sami Zayn’s begins. The cameras roll up towards Sami who is standing wearing a pair of jeans, boots, a grey t-shirt with a blazer over it and a brown flat cap. He has his suitcase standing next to him and is wearing a bag pack also. In his hand is a camcorder which he will also be using himself for when the cameras are not around. Within seconds they start rolling and the short feature piece begins.

SAMI ZAYN
What is going on EBWF Universe, my name is Sami Zayn the next Intercontinental Champion once I defeat Ted DiBiase and Chris Sabin this Sunday, at Destiny. Now in this journey with you guys get to sit back, relax and see just what a regular superstar here at the EBWF goes through when it comes to a pay-per-view, we’re going sightseeing, we’re working out, we’re going to hit some good places to grab a bite, you’re coming with me to AXXESS all before you purchase the pay-per-view and watch me kick DiBiase and Sabin’s ass all over Minnesota. Now, it is…4:04AM; we have a flight to catch soon so I guess I will see you guys on the plane.

Cameras continuing rolling as Sami Zayn picks up the rest of his luggage and walks away with the cameras following him, he heads out into the cab and he sits at the back with the producer who is travelling with Sami, asking the majority of questions starting right in the cab.

SAMI ZAYN
Looks like we’re starting early, this Sunday is a big night for me. Erm…you know I lost out on my chance at becoming EBWF Intercontinental Champion not that long ago against Syxx, I came this close to taking it but as you saw it just wasn’t good enough. But I think the second time round could be the one…it all depends on what happens on Sunday because I don’t even need to get pined to lose out so I need to make sure I am aware of everything that’s going on. I’m against two tough, determined guys that want the exact same as me; the only difference is I have the heart, the passion and the determination to go out there into that ring in The Target Center and look Syxx in the eye at the end of the match and tell him the next time he defends his championship will be the last.

They continued to talk to one another throughout the can ride before they finally got to the airport, after all of the checking in and getting into the plane leaving the city to get to Minneapolis, the cameras came back out in the plane where Sami Zayn talked a lot quieter than earlier so he didn’t disturb the other passengers.

SAMI ZAYN
So, if you turn the camera to my left…you can see I’m not somebody who gets upgraded with the suits but its okay I prefer it like that. Half of these people have no clue who I am, if I decided to go up there and sit with John Cena I’m sure my face would make it into a couple of magazines. Actually no scrap that John is probably enjoying himself in his tour bus ha-ha but my point still stands. I wouldn’t want the fans thinking that his level of success can change me, don’t get me wrong I am happy for him, he’s deserved everything he’s worked for but everyone deals with situations their own way. I don’t stay in the limelight a lot, y’know I won’t purchase my tour bus if I ever become a top dog in the company. I won’t hold the company ransom for a bigger contract if it ever came to that, I’m just doing what I love and right now you fans can actually see that we’re just like you, we don’t need to be worshipped and let you guys think we blow a ton of money on the best seats in the corporate jets and whatnot.

PRODUCER
How do you think Chris and Ted are getting to Minneapolis?

SAMI ZAYN
Chris, he might be catching the next plane but I have no idea where he is right now, if it’s driving distance he could get there with Ted; I am sure if you look out of the window you could probably see his shiny diamond encrusted gold Lamborghini Aventador his Dad paid for or something. Oh trust me, he wouldn’t be seen dead in one of these. I mean come on it’s just a plane at the end of the day right?

The producer and Sami continue to talk for a while before Sami turns on his own camcorder and barely talks as everyone sleeps.

SAMI ZAYN
Well…everyone is asleep and…we are now in Minneapolis. Ted, Chris…oh I’m coming so I beg you to be ready because there’s no way I am travelling across the country to smile when I see you guys and let you take my championship match. Not long left boys.

He switched the camcorder off for the remainder of the flight as the video diary then picked up at Sami Zayn arriving at his hotel.

SAMI ZAYN
Well we’re now at the hotel. Time to get some rest before we go out to dinner, not long left until Destiny so I need all the rest I can get for AXXESS tomorrow and then my big match on Sunday, so stick around.

After resting up the cameras then continue rolling at the restaurant where the crew and Sami Zayn are having dinner, but the cameras are recording mid-conversation.

SAMI ZAYN
I don’t think I’ve ever faced Chris Sabin inside a ring, we’ve both been on the indie scene for a while but I don’t know it’s never really hit me as to why we never faced off, we just never crossed paths. He did his thing, and he did it very well let’s get that out there Chris is a hugely underrated talent in the wrestling industry and I feel I can relate to him on that front.

PRODUCER
Relate to Chris in what way?

SAMI ZAYN
I just think he’s older so he’s probably wiser than I am, he’s quite low-key as well you won’t find him in a lot of controversial headlines and yeah it’s hard to avoid it at times but he’s done so well in making sure his wrestling and success in wrestling does most of the talking and that’s the way it should be. You shouldn’t be in the news for an assault or a brawl or anything like that, but being rewarded for doing what you love? Does it really get any better than that?

PRODUCER
Are you looking forward to finally stepping inside a ring with Chris Sabin then?

SAMI ZAYN
Most definitely. He’s a tough person to decipher, it won’t be easy but when is it ever easy? Especially when you’re all fighting to achieve the exact same thing and in this case it’s a shot at the Intercontinental Championship.

PRODUCER
Do you think Chris Sabin is taking you seriously?

SAMI ZAYN
Hmm, I’m not so sure to be honest as I said I don’t really know him on a personal level so it will be interesting inside that ring just how well our styles complement each other. Whether he is taking me seriously? I don’t know man that’s a question you’ll have to ask him. I am sure he has been watching Warfare and I’d like to think I’ve picked up some impressive wins during my time here so I hope – for his own sake – he is taking me seriously. I’m not ashamed to admit it but I underestimated Syxx, the champion; and you guys saw exactly what he did to me when he won, my mistake. Chris needs to avoid the same from happening so if he underestimated me, great. I love being the underdog, and it’s how I have had most of my success so yeah; underestimate me and write me off all you want it’ll only taste that much sweeter when I win.

They continue to eat and talk throughout the evening before heading back into the hotel for the rest of the night. The next morning Sami gets out the camcorder in his bed and looks incredibly tired.

SAMI ZAYN
Well…it’s bright outside now. And it’s cold. It’s very, very cold. And it’s too early so I will see you all at the gym and then it’s off to AXXESS baby!

The cameras are in the quiet gym where Sami is working out prior to AXXESS. He is doing some cardio whilst the producer is sat near him, letting Sami work out and asking the odd question here and there ready for Sami to answer who is sweating profusely throughout the recording.

PRODUCER
Last night over dinner we talked a lot about your chances and Chris Sabin but we didn’t get that much into Ted DiBiase, are you worried about him as well?

SAMI ZAYN
Well…like anyone else of course I am worried. I am not worried specifically about Ted, I am worried that a third superstar, this external factor could be the reason I somehow don’t win. I am wary of him because in my experiences he is a sneaky individual but now I think the roles have reversed. At first I thought ‘meh Chris Sabin, no big deal’ but now this whole thing with The Miz and Ted I think his attention could be elsewhere. So on Sunday, I need to hope that Ted can’t focus as much. If he is fully focusing on our match then there we go, a fair triple threat match where it’s difficult to predict the winner. If he cannot concentrate then you can bet me and Chris will kick each other’s ass until only one of us is left standing tall in that ring.

PRODUCER
Do you think Ted could surprise you all?

SAMI ZAYN
Oh of course he can, anybody can. There can be a lot of surprises at any given time but as I’ve been saying it’s up to me to focus. I am tired of being called the nearly man, I can win match after match after match on Warfare or in the WWE or on the indie circuit, but when it comes to those matches that matter that little bit more, the championship matches and the number one contender matches. People add a lot more pressure on me but labelling me as the nearly man, I understand I sometimes have choked in the past and I can’t stop some of the chants in the top left hand corner of every single arena but I need to do all I can to make sure I win, not only on Sunday where I can fulfil my own destiny AT Destiny but eventually against Syxx to get that rematch I want, because I know I can defeat him and deep down after our last match I know Syxx sees me as more of a threat than he did last time out.

PRODUCER
Ted could be focusing on The Miz, but at the same time some might think you’re focusing on that big hacking situation which occurred, wouldn’t you say your attention is diverted there and if so, doesn’t this put Chris Sabin in the driving seat?

SAMI ZAYN
I can see why some people might believe that, it wasn’t an ideal situation to be in but I am glad it’s over now. I think the difference between my situation and Ted is that he actually has a threat over him in the form of The Miz, who knows if he might make his way to the ring and Ted will have one eye on the stage to see if he does come. With me, nothing has happened and I don’t think anything will either so I am fully focused on the match. If there was a threat for me…I would agree that Chris is in the driving seat, even now I think fans will see Chris Sabin as the favourite to advance to the title match. He’s probably fresher, mentally prepared, more focused with not a lot of pressure on his shoulders as he’s already achieved so much in his fantastic career, so I think he’s in the driving seat even now.

PRODUCER
A lot of people might say you’re ruling Ted DiBiase out already, is that a wise way to look at the match?

SAMI ZAYN
I wouldn’t think I am ruling him out, I have my reasons for thinking I can get past him but obviously he’s in the match for a reason and let’s be honest he’s achieved a lot more than I have in the EBWF so it would be stupid of me to rule him out, I already said I looked past Syxx and he taught me a lesson, trust me when I say this match is going to be competitive, and it’ll take something special for either one of us to walk out as the number one contender.

PRODUCER
How well prepared are you?

SAMI ZAYN
I don’t think any superstar is always at 100% when it comes to preparation, but I do believe I am at a stage where I can visualise myself walking out as the victor. You’ve been watching me for the past day or so now so you can see the work outs have gone good, off-camera you’ve seen that the in-ring work has been great, I’m competing with guys that have similar styles to Ted and Chris so whether I hit the Helluva Kick on Chris I lock in the Koji Clutch on Ted; I am prepared and I believe I can win this match.

PRODUCER
We have AXXESS in under three hours, big crowds are expected, I don’t know if you remember but at the last AXXESS event Syxx taunted you saying how short your autograph queue was, are you taking those comments on board and are you excited in general for the event?

SAMI ZAYN
Ha-ha I don’t know about Syxx but I don’t judge my chances of winning based on the autograph queue. Look I’m all about making an impact for the fans and making sure they have a good time so I am looking forward to meeting the fans whether five want my autograph or fifty five, it’ll be a good event regardless but his words aren’t taking a toll on me at all; I am looking forward to get on the microphone on the stage and promote the event and especially our match on Sunday.

PRODUCER
Well you finish up Sami and we’ll be back at AXXESS in a couple of hours.

Sami Zayn went ahead and walked towards the weights to continue his workout. A couple of hours later an area outside The Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota is being swarmed by die-hard EBWF fans who were lucky enough to make it to the event and will probably be at the Destiny event the following evening. The queues are forming with the more popular superstars queues running very long whilst the less popular superstars in the EBWF, such as Sami Zayn; are taking their time to sign autographs as the queues are a lot shorter, but the cameras continue rolling mid-conversation with Sami Zayn as he signs autographs.

SAMI ZAYN
This is why the EBWF is the superior wrestling promotion, look at the amount of people here, okay perhaps not in my queue but still thousands and thousands of fans turning up to be a part of this.

PRODUCER
So your short queue hasn’t affected you?

SAMI ZAYN
Not at all, it gives me time to actually talk to the fans who are paying good money to come and see us, and most of these guys in the queue genuinely believe I can walk out the winner tomorrow night! I mean Ted’s queue is similar to mine and everyone knows I’m a big fan of Chris Sabin so when I finish up here, I might just go and stand in his queue to get his autograph before our match tomorrow.

An hour or so later, the stage is set up and we’ve already seen some of the EBWF superstars and divas talk on stage, promoting the event and the match and now the cameras are rolling as Sami Zayn is sat on the left of the stage as he leans forward to talk into the microphone.

SAMI ZAYN
Well we all know what happened the last time I was speaking at an AXXESS event, I lost the very next night so I probably won’t ridicule these guys next to me because I know I deserve my spot in the number one contenders match and these guys sure as hell do too. This makes for a competitive match on Sunday. But this is it now, not a lot of guys get a second crack at the chance competing for the Intercontinental Championship so you can bet I won’t screw this up and I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure I walk out of Minnesota as the new number one contender. I don’t care if Ted has a lapse in concentration because of The Miz because I won’t hesitate in kicking his head off his shoulders and I sure as hell won’t think twice if I have to tarnish this fantastic legacy of Chris Sabin by choking the life out of him in order to get what I want, sometimes you need to do things you won’t like in life and in this case defeat people you’re a big fan of. I really don’t mind whether Ted or Chris are overlooking me, I’ve been around the world a few times and defeated some tough opposition to get here so I won’t be lying on my back and letting them win this easily. I’ve already beaten Ted DiBiase in the EBWF so I think I have his number, but it looks like I should be the least of his worries with The Miz’ shadow probably lurking around every corner so I wouldn’t be surprised if the pressure of that gets to him. Let’s be honest, everyone here is expecting the great Chris Sabin to walk out and get the chance to become a two time Intercontinental Champion but let’s not forget this injury he’s coming back from, he might not be at optimal fitness to do what most of the fans believe he will do. What do I have to look out for? A stupid prank? No pressure on me, the only pressure I have is the one I put on myself every time I step inside the ring and come Destiny there will be no pressure on me because I have nothing left to prove to anyone. Everyone in EBWF is now sitting up and starting to take me a little more seriously including the champion the three of us are trying to face. Come Sunday…I will be the number one contender to the Intercontinental Championship, again.

Fans cheered and whistled to Sami Zayn as he leaned back into his chair and putting his flat cap back into place. Very loud ‘Ole’ chants broke out as he smiled and applauded the fans for the support. This marked the end of the time the EBWF crew had with Sami Zayn as he finished up his media duties before leaving the area and heading to his hotel.

Next stop, Destiny.

- - - - - - -

The night has finally arrived, the Destiny pay-per-view with some huge matches on offer for the fans in attendance at The Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota as well as the fans that purchased the event to watch from home. Before the night can proceed any further the cameras are backstage with Renee Young who has a familiar guest with her, Sami Zayn.

RENEE YOUNG
Ladies and gentlemen what a night so far and with the number one contender match coming up for the Intercontinental Championship, my guest at this time…Sami Zayn.

SAMI ZAYN
Good evening, Renee.

RENEE YOUNG
Evening Sami, Sami you’re in action very soon against Ted DiBiase AND Chris Sabin for a chance to face the Intercontinental Champion, Syxx. Are you nervous?

SAMI ZAYN
A mixture of excitement and nerves for sure. Excited to go out and compete on a huge event like this and excited to compete against Ted and Chris. But nervous at the same time because I know these opportunities don’t come around too often and I don’t want to be the guy who gets lost in the pack, I can’t afford to be that guy and tonight nothing short of a win will suffice.

RENEE YOUNG
There’s been a lot of talk of you changing the way you approach your opponents, why have you changed your style in recent weeks?

SAMI ZAYN
Look, I’m still pretty young and new in this promotion so the only way to make an impact is to speak up and leave an impression in that ring. The latter I was doing very well, everywhere I go. The first…not so much. I had to talk, I had to get into the heads of my opponents and sometimes it has backfired like it did with Syxx. This time there are no mind games, in fact for Ted I needed no mind games as The Miz pretty much helped us do it. With Chris Sabin…I’m expecting a tough competitor who probably would’ve been more pumped if I did try getting under his skin.

RENEE YOUNG
Well Sami, good luck in your match a little later and enjoy the rest of the event.

SAMI ZAYN
Thank you, Renee.

Sami Zayn walked off looking focused and ready for his match, putting his earphones back in and dancing to his music and visualising himself walking down the ramp.

Moments later, World’s Apart blasted the PA system as fans broke out into a loud Ole chant whilst clapping to Sami’s music. He quickly emerged on the stage looking pleased with his preparation and jogged down the ramp very quickly before standing on the steel steps and pumping up the crowd who chanted his name even louder. He stopped in the ring and smiled as he looked around at the thousands of fans that packed the arena. He then walked towards the ropes and asked for a microphone – which he received – before waiting for his music to stop playing so he could speak.

SAMI ZAYN
A VERY loud crowd here in Minneapolis tonight for Destiny! Where in just a few moments you will have your new number one contender to the Intercontinental Champion and boy do I hope I become the number one contender again. I know I let a lot of you down the last time I got my shot at the Intercontinental Champion against Syxx, and I let myself down too because I thought I would have that championship with me tonight ready to defend it. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case and the champion defeated me. Tonight I have the one chance to right my wrong, to change the course of my own destiny and do what I was signed to this company to do, become a champion. It’ll be a great match, there’s no doubt about that. I mean Ted DiBiase and Chris Sabin plus Sami Zayn? Exciting styles, with one goal that is to become the number one contender. I cannot really speak for them but I am pretty confident that I have the heart to get through this match under any circumstance. Look, I’ve already beaten Ted DiBiase in the EBWF so I know how he works, if anything I defeated a better Ted DiBiase because the last time he was inside the ring with me, he still had his buddies The Miz and a certain AJ Styles trying to attack me but as you know…that didn’t exactly go to plan because out of thin air AJ Styles, the great AJ Styles just upped and vanished from thin air. Leaving The Miz and Ted DiBiase to fend for themselves in this big bad world without their Daddy doing most of the work for them. But as we saw last week…The Miz saw sense and put Ted out of his misery, tonight we will see whether Ted was actually a valuable asset to The Trilogy or was he riding on their coattails. Now that his boyfriend doesn’t like him Ted is all alone, and it probably isn’t ideal to step into the ring with two guys that probably want to kick his ass for wreaking havoc for so long but we’ll get to that once the bell rings.

And Chris Sabin…you know you’re somebody I watched with envy. Somebody guys like me wanted to be like, loved and a damn great wrestler too and now our paths finally cross in the EBWF in front of thousands of screaming fans who want the two of us to perform to our best, but can you? You’ve been through injury after injury after injury and well done, you actually fought through them and came back stronger. Tonight is your biggest test since your return and I won’t go easy on you at all because this is my time. I know, you’re probably sat there at the back in some dark corner wanting to be a recluse, watching me and thinking just who the hell is this kid? Actually I wouldn't be surprised if you're behind those stupid pranks trying to hack things and blame it on me because you're trying to get me out of the way so you can have your little moment at the top again for the Intercontinental Champion but not on my watch Chris. I know, you have no idea who or what I am. You don’t know me Chris Sabin…but you’re about to.

He dropped the microphone as fans cheered, Sami Zayn jumping on the spot waiting for his opponents to enter the ring to get the match going, where in just a short while we will have a number one contender to the Intercontinental Champion.[/center]
