Michael Cole meets Solomon Crowe

It’s been over two weeks since the annual Destiny pay-per-view took place at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota and it was certainly an event to remember. Damien Sandow managed to retain his Breakout Championship in a six pack challenge against the likes of Austin Aries, Tyler Breeze and Bray Wyatt whilst Torrie Wilson became the number one contender to Michelle McCool’s Women’s Championship in a highly competitive Fatal 4 Way match. In the main event John Cena was the last man standing, retaining his EBWF World Championship against CM Punk. Another intriguing and surprising moment that occurred on the night took place at the end of the number one contenders match for the Intercontinental Championship. Sami Zayn picked up the victory over Ted DiBiase and Chris Sabin to get a second crack at Syxx and the Intercontinental Championship after losing out to the veteran the first time at SummerSlam.

After weeks of messing with Sami Zayn’s head, the pyrotechnics and the titan-tron it was finally revealed who was behind all of the shenanigans which not only resulted in certain members of management losing trust in Sami Zayn, but a minor injury as well. Solomon Crowe made his presence felt in Minnesota, making his first – and as of yet his only – appearance in the EBWF. Wearing a maroon suit with a black shirt and wild, messy hair and a tablet and walking stick in tow; he proceeded to attack Sami Zayn viciously; with a big grin on his face as he did so. As expected, so many questions with no answers. Just who is Solomon Crowe? Why has he never been seen before? Why hasn’t he been seen since the unfortunate incident? What is his motive? Hopefully all will be revealed soon as one man has been handed the task of getting to know Solomon Crowe, Michael Cole. This wasn’t to be an ordinary interview in the EBWF with the lights, the glitz and the glamour. The EBWF had reached out to Solomon Crowe numerous times but it wasn’t easy receiving a response from someone who preferred to be a recluse. Eventually Solomon Crowe did reach out to the EBWF, the company he signed for before attacking Sami Zayn. He named his terms, he wouldn’t be making his way to the EBWF Headquarters instead they would be coming to him at an undisclosed location. He specifically asked for Michael Cole to come to him and only one cameraman would be able to accompany Michael Cole to the destination; any funny business and they could forget about ever talking to him. The way he looks it was already predicted that he would have the greatest equipment available for them to use, so more EBWF staff were not required.

It was finally the day of the interview, something neither Michael Cole nor the cameraman were really looking forward to, but understood the importance of treating all talent fairly and something that could potentially peak the fans interest. Once the cameras start rolling, we see Michael Cole wearing a black jacket and a scarf, when he breathes you can see on screen just how cold it is outside the building they are waiting in front of; waiting to be greeted by Solomon Crowe. Once the two are ready to roll, Michael Cole proceeds right away.

MICHAEL COLE
Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Michael Cole and in this very exclusive interview I am here with my cameraman, nobody else from the EBWF in a location I cannot name at this time for privacy and security reasons. It’s a very wet, and cold night so I hope we can get inside and settle down and begin this interview as soon as possible. We have now been standing outside the building for around…twelve minutes now and it has just hit 9PM so I think…

Slowly, the big door starts to open as Cole turns around in a fright, standing next to the cameraman who is fixed on the door. After a second or two a figure is finally seen standing in the doorway, long black shoes, black suit pants and a black shirt with the sleeves rolled up. The camera hits the face and it is indeed the new EBWF signing, Solomon Crowe. He stares at Michael Cole for a second or two before looking dead into the camera lens, from out of nowhere he then smiles and moves around more freely and we finally hear the intriguing man speak, without pausing.

SOLOMON CROWE
Michael Cole…it is nice to finally meet you in person after years of growing up and watching you on my television. I did tell you to appear at the door at exactly 9PM where I would allow you to enter immediately yet you chose to stand outside with your cameraman and freeze and shiver on this cold, frosty evening. Let me tell you, I’m not inviting you into my home so you can come inside where you can take pictures of every corner and publish them. You aren’t entering to put your feet on my table where I will turn my fireplace up and we will talk well into the night. There will be no cocoa served, no coffee, no warm marshmallows or pillow fights; you’ll come inside, you’ll sit where I tell you to sit and you ask what you need to and I will happily escort you back out of this door where you will go about your business and I will continue with mine, is that clear?

MICHAEL COLE
Y…yes that is clear Mr. Crowe.

SOLOMON CROWE
Solomon works Michael, please; come inside and tell your cameraman to close the door behind him. It is dark inside because that is how I like it, if you cannot see where you’re going then feel free to hold your cameraman’s hand who will guide you upstairs because I like things my way which is the right way, and you cannot turn any switch on…it interferes with my set-up.

Solomon Crowe turned his back to Michael Cole and the cameraman and slowly walked inside, disappearing into the darkness. Cole turned around into the camera and looked at the cameraman in a confused yet frightened manner before taking a big gulp and following Solomon Crowe; trying to create small talk with the intriguing individual.

MICHAEL COLE
I must say Solomon, a lot of people have been wanting to hear from you and what you have to say.

Just before Crowe took his first step on the staircase, he stopped and turned around to Michael and sighed before replying.

SOLOMON CROWE
I know Michael, I know. Let’s just save all the niceties and chit-chat for when we are comfortable, now please; follow me.

Solomon Crowe then proceeded up the staircase, holding the handrail as the sound of his boots made a creaking sound on the wooden floorboards. Followed by Michael Cole and the cameraman as they turned a corner following Crowe. Crowe rattled a set of keys into a door before pushing it a little with his left elbow, eventually managing to get the door open. Even though the lights were switched off, the large room itself was very bright. There were three 42” television monitors mounted on to a wall next to each other, all displaying numerous codes and images, mounted over a desk which was full of smaller monitors, laptops and wires. Crowe then sighed and took a seat on his swivelling chair, before pointing at two other chairs, telling Cole where to sit whilst the cameraman set up the tripod.

MICHAEL COLE
It’s a…an interesting place you have here.

Crowe then turned to the desk and continued to type random letters in on the laptop, which brought up more codes, and eventually on one of the television monitors the outside of Crowe’s place was seen as he switched on the cameras.

SOLOMON CROWE
I am passionate about what I do Michael, you enjoy all of this so you became a journalist by graduating from Webutuck High School and attending Syracuse University, a fine institution and starting work at CBS Radio before your “big” breakthrough where you covered the failed 1988 US Presidential campaign, for Michael Dukakis of the Democratic Party and after so many successful years, first in the WWE and now in the EBWF you’ve finally landed on my doorstep. It amuses me Michael, I am sat here opposite you and let’s be honest you and the company have been chasing me for a while now there’s no hiding from that or what I have been doing either. But at ten years of age I was sat, kneeling in front of the small television set in my home, watching YOU on the screen interview superstar after superstar, ten years old. Seventeen years on Michael Cole is now sitting looking up at Solomon Crowe; to some it may be nothing but for me this is something special. Because this right here puts me in a position of power, of authority now people like you can never look down on me again because you’re the one chasing me Michael, my time here tonight – whether I choose to give answers or not is a different story altogether – my time here tonight is what is paying you. It’s what’s buying you your suits at Nepenthes New York, tonight I feed your beloved family for the rest of the week. I do, what I do, because I want to do it. I don’t pretend to be somebody or something I am not, don’t you dare look down on me because on my property I won’t hesitate to take further actions against you or that cameraman who is trying to put me in a good frame but is too stupid to realise he needs to set-up the white balance in this dark room. So if you please – cameraman – heed my instructions as to how you should set up YOUR piece of equipment, we can get started, started on something myself AND Michael have been looking forward to for a very, very long time.

Michael Cole sat nervously, with his mouth a little open from the shock before turning and ruffling around with the papers on the side, he then talks to the cameraman in normal fashion to distract Solomon Crowe before whispering to the cameraman.

MICHAEL COLE
So are we ready to roll now? … Please tell me they’ll edit all of that out.

CAMERAMAN
I highly doubt it Mike, but yeah we’re good to go whenever you guys want to start.

MICHAEL COLE
Damn…well ladies and gentlemen it brings me great pleasure to introduce Solomon Crowe to the EBWF Universe.

By this time, Solomon Crowe slowly turned away from his desk and looked at Michael Cole as they sat face to face.

SOLOMON CROWE
Starting the interview off with a lie, Michael? It’s doesn’t bring you any pleasure it’s written all over your face than if I gave you the chance you would ditch your partner and leave this property as fast as your body could make you run, there’s no pleasure; you’re just doing your job.

Michael Cole then breathed heavily to try and calm his nerves to continue, predicting this wouldn’t be as simple as it looked on paper.

MICHAEL COLE
Well, Solomon I and the EBWF staff hope you are doing well, one of our newer, young signings and…

SOLOMON CROWE
No you don’t. I don’t care if you’re okay or if you’re riddled with infectious diseases so don’t act like you hope I am feeling good today, which if you cannot already tell; I am in a fantastic mood to let you sit here. But Michael, let’s not beat around the bush here. Let me help you Michael, let me help you secure the single, biggest, most interesting interview you will ever conduct. I know you media guys like to twist words so tonight I will not hold back with my answers and Michael you will not hold back with your questions. Be the journalist you always wanted to be and press me with the questions everyone wants the answers to and make me crack under the pressure like I am under investigation, it’s where I produce my best work Michael, use me to make yourself look good for once.

Cole shifted in his chair and grew a little in confidence, knowing he would really need to press Crowe’s buttons to get under his skin.

MICHAEL COLE
Well Solomon you seem to be a confident young man, with lofty ambitions I should think also but why did you feel the need to do what you did in regards to the pyrotechnics and messing with Sami Zayn’s head?

SOLOMON CROWE
What use would I be to anyone including myself if I was a nervous wreck? You need to be confident to advance in this world, a quality many lack including so called stars in the EBWF. Ambitions? Not really, no. I’ll get what I believe I deserve is mine and I will fight until the very end for it. Come on Michael, you’re telling me you didn’t enjoy those mind games? You didn’t enjoy watching somebody like Sami Zayn taken to the edge? Making him doubt his own abilities without even laying a finger on him. You loved it, the people wanted more and more and more and I could have just as easily made this up-and-comer the EBWF are treating as their future, and leave him broken inside that ring, mentally and physically. I didn’t need to get to Sami Zayn, I wanted to get to Sami Zayn. If you want to do something in this world to make sure people don’t doubt you or look down on you, you make an impact to leave the world star struck, I did that. And I am not planning on stopping any time soon.

MICHAEL COLE
But why Sami Zayn? What has he ever done to you? It makes people fear who else is on your hit list.

SOLOMON CROWE
Why Sami Zayn, a very good question and it’s about time you asked that as well. Sami Zayn was just…easy. I like to think I am an intelligent being with a certain set of skills that have and will continue to bode well for me in anything and everything I choose to do. I don’t think Sami is the sole target, it’s not a hit-list, it is a book of current and future targets. Because I won’t lie to you Michael, I probably won’t stop. Sami Zayn, his popularity just increased and increased, and that’s great because I have a set of eyes too, he is a fantastic superstar who is on his way to the top. THAT is why he was targeted. I mean, for years we have seen people not quite like me trying to make an impact, they’ll go out into the middle of a ring and pick up a microphone and call out the big dogs, they want the best. Will they get them? Never. We’ve seen superstars taking out top guys like John Cena time and time again. What would I have achieved by easily dismantling a man whose career is probably nearing its end? Nowhere. I will be the same as every single individual who decided to target the best. So I turned my attention to break somebody who will possibly be in that position one day, and stop him from reaching that level. I could just have easily reached out and broke John Cena or CM Punk or even Jim Ross whenever I wanted to. I would achieve nothing. I took out Sami Zayn, I got the world talking, I’ve got the world understanding, and I will get the world to start believing.

MICHAEL COLE
Is it fair to call yourself an EBWF Superstar? Many have been referring to you as a young, evil hacker using the company for personal gains.

SOLOMON CROWE
As I said, I am very good at what I do. I signed on the dotted line, I am an EBWF Superstar. A hacker? Well, not just any hacker an ‘evil’ hacker at that? Look Michael, I started this at a very young age, kids my age were outside soaking in the sunlight, playing catch with their Dad’s and going on vacations, not me. I was cooped inside my room. A messy room, you don’t realise when it’s the afternoon or when the moon is out, you sit at that computer and you pick up skills. I perfected this craft for years. I think it was easier to get caught as a kid doing this, you make mistakes. You get into cell phones and laptops and you leave traces, but not now. I allowed myself to get caught, because the time for hiding is over. Am I offended you think of me as a simple hacker? Not at all. It will never affect me because it will always keep me one step ahead of the game and that means right now everyone else in the business is vulnerable and that means I can reach out and crush them whenever I please.

MICHAEL COLE
Why are you actually here? Why are you doing what you are doing? What’s even the aim of all of this?

SOLOMON CROWE
Chaos. I thrive off chaos. I enjoy making people’s lives a misery and watching succumb under the pressure of their ordinary, everyday lives. I am doing this because I enjoy watching people run around and break down, me bring the puppet master puts you all under my control. And the funny thing is we’ve only just scratched the surface, I work for the company now. I don’t care about championships, sure they’ll look good around a waist or over a shoulder but I don’t need one to prove a point. The desire to become champion is like a drug for superstars who have never held a title here, and it’s an addiction for former champions. They want it, they need it, they cannot function without a piece of gold making them feel good, and making them feel relevant. I don’t have that issue. I have everything I need right here, and I am content.

MICHAEL COLE
That tablet on your desk, the same we saw on television a few weeks ago. Is that just for show or is there something special about it?

SOLOMON CROWE
Well, you won’t be finding Angry Birds or my high scores on crushing pieces of candy. Everything I need to cause as much damage and chaos as possible is placed in this little device. This right here is my tag team, Intercontinental, World and Path to Glory Championships. Everything I need to know about everyone, is right here. Secrets, deep secrets which puts me ahead of the game like nobody has ever been before. Just like you Michael. How are you? Tell me, how’s your wife Yolanda? Treating her right I hope Michael. What about...Calvin and Mark? Are they okay? I am presuming your sons know they are adopted because I’d hate for them to see their beloved Father interviewing the evil Solomon Crowe who just let slip their deepest and darkest secret. I can tell you the time, date and the name of the place you picked them up from. Now, if I know that about you, just imagine what I know about everyone else.

MICHAEL COLE
I uh…I don’t know how to respond to that so moving on…what do you hope to achieve here in the EBWF? World Champion?

SOLOMON CROWE
That would be a Sami Zayn answer. A CM Punk answer. Look, I am not like them. I can tell by the look on your face that you genuinely dislike me and I’m not your biggest fan either but I thrive off that because I know it’s eating you up inside. What I want to achieve is to go down in history as the one that created the most chaos in the company, and was successful at everything. Every, single, thing. If I become a champion, great, good luck getting it off of me, in one piece anyway. I am not here to make friends, I know who is doing great things and I know who needs to be dealt with. There are enough targets out there for people like me to feed on and just be patient, we will get them all. I don’t care for anybody, not Randy Orton, not Austin Aries, not that dancing buffoon in Adam Rose and for that matter, Bray Wyatt either. I saw what he did at Warfare to John Cena, and as much as I dislike them both my advice to you and the fans of this wonderful company would be to keep your eyes and ears wide open, if there is a new leader coming, you need to start getting used to it, change is never good, but we have to adjust. I will achieve everything I deserve, and need to achieve.

MICHAEL COLE
Well…I believe that is the end…

SOLOMON CROWE
Yes, that’s the end of your scripted interview, yes. But the way you’re looking at me right now, I know exactly what you want to hear. You’re shocked, surprised, intrigued at what I know. You’re shocked that a man of my age can do so much damage, imaging what happens when I’m at my peak? I think you’re right, I’d be afraid too, Michael. You want to know, exactly what I know. The only thing is I don’t know if you or the world are ready for every single detail. I don’t know who is going to watch this interview right now, but I know who will when it eventually airs. Sami Zayn, a man destined for greatness, desperate to succeed, he could be the architect of his own downfall. Randy Orton, I could tell you exactly where he will take his beloved partner for their next romantic meal, the next movie they’ll decide to go and watch, where they will go to watch the sun set. I know every single detail about that infamous bar brawl, how it happened, why it happened, what caused it. I could tell you that the man of this company in John Cena should realistically update his home security system, not the most difficult to break into John, anybody with the tools could get in and I definitely know about a certain high-profile incident between Jesse Sorensen and his ex-girlfriend, Danielle Costa. You see, an ordinary man wouldn’t know all that. I’m no ordinary man, you know that now. Whoever watches this interview, will know that. Now, personally I have nothing against Randy or John or anyone else that I might have offended intentionally or unintentionally, I am just making clear what I know. And if I know all of the details, good and bad, I will use them to my advantage every single time I step into that ring; and that time is coming, I will be in the ring soon and it won’t distract me from what I am doing here. Who knows, maybe soon everyone will start to like me and what I do, and even though I highly doubt it I think I must be everyone’s favourite “evil” hacker right now, even yours Michael, I could be a valuable asset to you, or anybody else…

Solomon Crowe and Michael Cole looked at one another for a short while as Crowe leaned back after being in Michael Cole’s face for so long after a heated discussion. He folded his arms and grinned. Solomon Crowe then turned back to his desk and continued to work as Cole looked a little more relaxed.

MICHAEL COLE
Well, thank you…for that Solomon and thank you for allowing us to talk to you.

SOLOMON CROWE
Don’t fall down the stairs Michael, be careful.

Michael Cole then stood up and looked at the cameraman with a sigh of relief, as they quickly packed up the equipment and headed out, the camera fading to black as Solomon Crowe could be heard typing away quickly on a keyboard.
