Nice Girls Finish Last

Post by Kamden »

OOC: Nick, good luck <3!!! Finished this and my homework assignment right before they were due. (YOLO).

Warfare, October 20th 2014

Michelle finally made it backstage after being boo'ed out of the arena. She'd just blind-sided one of her opponents after the match was finished, and that opponent just happened to be the same person she'd be facing Sunday for her title. A well-placed move, but not well-liked. And she didn't care. Later in the show, the cameras found the women's champion backstage, holding her title in one hand and walking, going up to people and asking them bizarre questions.

Michelle: Look, I think this is one of Torrie's facial hairs. Don't you see it? There's no way it's mine. I'm not that old.

When the random crew member looked at her oddly and shook his head slowly, she smacked the clipboard he held out of his hand and continued her walk. She seemed pretty irritated. Just like any other day. This time, a woman with a large bag was walking towards Michelle. She caught the divas eye and quickly tried to go another way, but it was too late. Michelle had got to her before she could turn.

Michelle: What, you think I'm wrong for what I did too, just like everyone else? Well you Wanna know what I think of you?!

She snatched the bag out of the lady's hand and unzipped it, dumping out all of its contents and then kicking things every which way. The lady ran away and hid behind a cart.

Michelle stopped and closed her eyes and took a deep breathe, before continuing. There wasn't an obvious reason for her doing all these things. But now she began to walk with a purpose, in the direction of her next victim.

Michelle: Do you know you may have potentially ruined me tonight? Correction, you and your idiotic friend both may have ruined me?

Sasha Banks jumped out of surprise, unaware McCool had stormed up to her. But she gave the women’s champion a mean mug.

Sasha Banks: I don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s not like YOU alone lost. We all did. So please take a step back and SWERVE boo boo.

The Boss put a hand up in the much taller diva’s face, but it was quickly pushed away.

Michelle: Tonight was my only chance to psyche out my opponent. If I’d won, that would’ve been just peachy. But nooo, you two had to screw it up. I knew you both would be trouble tonight. You’re lucky I didn’t get you like I did Torrie. So you know what you need to do now, Sasha?

Sasha Banks: What!

Michelle: Watch your back. One day I’ll get you, and make up for our little loss tonight.

Then Michelle walked away from her. She wasn’t really planning to attack Sasha or Summer for that matter over the loss suffered, but she needed to feel like she had the upper hand going into Fanniversary. She wasn’t able to cement that through the match itself, so she took it upon herself to make an impression elsewhere, apparently after the match was over. And it seemed to be enough as Sasha stared for a minute, before turning around and quickly going off to find Summer Rae.

=====~*~=====

The month of October was coming to an end, and that meant the beginning of another week dedicated solely to the EBWF universe in the form of a pay-per-view: Fanniversary. The event this year had some highly anticipated matches on deck, and surely would not let the fans down in any way. Most superstars and divas were already in Philadelphia, the city that would host the show. Michelle McCool was walking up the steps of the Benjamin Franklin National Memorial building on North 20th Street. It was Friday, two days before Fanniversary and her title defense against The Sweetheart of the EBWF, Torrie Wilson. But obviously Michelle didn’t see things that way, considering she took a cheap shot at her opponent days before. And people wanted answers. Why did she “viciously, relentlessly” attack Torrie Wilson, one of the most beloved diva’s to ever grace the company? We were about to find out. The women’s champion had entered the building, and made her way to the large marble statue of one Benjamin Franklin.

There was an out of place set up in front of the larger than life homage to the Founding Father. A lone podium, complete with a small stage and microphone was ready to provide some insight to the latest irrational action, courtesy of McCool. She made her way up to it, a crowd of interviewers and reporters already doing double takes and starting to gather close to the stage. The “show” began.

Michelle: I bet you’re all wondering why I’ve gathered you here today. I have to explain myself, and explain my actions. Most notably, my unprecedented attack on my coworker, Torrie Wilson.

There was a bit of a buzz as some people held up tape recorders and camcorders. It was like a small press conference. Except only Michelle was speaking, and an enormous Benjamin Franklin was in the background. Definitely a strange place to host a gathering.

Michelle: It’s not that I don’t like Torrie. She’s a doll. Super nice. Everyone loves her. And that’s just it. Everyone loves her, and everyone hates me, so that’s why I did what I did. It was my job. It’s a classic tale of good versus evil, and we will be fighting it out this Sunday at Fanniversary. The women’s championship will be on the line. As you all know, Torrie Wilson earned contendership for the title, hence the title match in just two days. Any questions so far?

A man in the front raised his hand and spoke up.

Reporter #1: Michelle, what do you think about Torrie becoming the number one contender? She won against the likes of Paige, Angelina Love and Alexa Bliss to earn this shot at your title at Destiny. And her team defeated you this past Monday on Warfare. She seems to be riding a wave of momentum coming into this title bout, while you on the other hand, aren’t.

Michelle: Yeah, Torrie is just such a threat isn’t she? I mean, it’s not like she pulled of an impressive win and then swept everyone off their feet with her victory in that fatal four way, and it’s not like she didn’t pin me on Monday. I didn’t lose that match at Warfare, so as for her defeating me? It didn’t happen. And it won’t happen on Sunday, either. I personally didn’t see this coming, and I don’t think Torrie did either. She’s probably still processing this entire situation, or really what’s going on in this division. She was very right when she said things aren’t the way they used to be. In the olden times. Now, this is the new age, and a time for change was long overdue. So, it happened. It seems like Torrie Wilson is going into this match with a certain mindset. She wants to win one for the team, and “save” the division in the name of good like the golden girl she plays so hard to be. Then again, she doesn’t have the gold, so it doesn’t really matter who or what she vouches for and believes in. Honestly, playing nice doesn’t get you where you need to be. Look at where I am. Take a look at the diva’s tag team champions. The MEAN Girls. Not the nice girls. All the nice girls like Nikki and Brie Bella, and Torrie Wilson? They don’t have anything except each other. And that’s obviously not helped them much. Even though Eva Marie and Sasha Banks have the combined IQ of a rock, they’re champions, right? I’m obviously more like Benjamin Franklin; I’m smart, innovative, and as Torrie pretty much said, the founder of a new age in the diva’s division. To take a note from her, I shook things up and changed things for the better. Better for me! And look at where the “good girls” that Torrie sides with stand… Nowhere. Because they haven’t taken a stand. And if they ever do? It won’t last. The nice people always finish last. It’s sad, but true.

==========~*~==========

Now it was Sunday afternoon, the day of Fanniversary. Lines zig-zagged out of the arena and all around the block as eager fans waited to enter. When the doors opened, the pre-show kicked off and Renee Young managed to snag an interview with Michelle before the pay-per-view officially began.

Renee Young: Hello everyone, I’m Renee Young, and welcome to EBWF Fanniversary, 2014! I’ve got a special guest with me right now to keep things moving along in the pre-show. EBWF Women’s champion Michelle McCool, who will be defending her title against number one contender and former women’s champion, Torrie Wilson. Thanks for joining me, Michelle.

Michelle sat at the commentary table next to Renee, with a headset on. She rolled her eyes.

Michelle: You should go work on your insincerity. At least try to be sarcastic, Renee.

Renee looked at Michelle awkwardly.

Renee Young: Um, ok. So Michelle, give us some thoughts about your opponent. What are you thinking about when it comes to Torrie going into this match?

Michelle paused and thought for a moment.

Michelle: You know Renee, I think Torrie Wilson is…

It seemed like for once in her life she faltered and couldn’t find the right words to say.

Michelle: I think Torrie Wilson is a wonderful person, actually. There’s not a bad bone in her body.

Renee looked a little shocked at Michelle’s declaration, and motioned for her to continue.

Michelle: You can’t say the same about me obviously, she’s like Dorothy and I’m the Wicked Witch. And then The Mean Girls would be the flying monkeys, and the Bella Twins would be part of the lollipop guild or something. I honestly cannot sit here and belittle Torrie Wilson the same way I’d belittle the Bella twins, or even you. By the way, you still have that lisp. Should’ve gone to speech therapy, like I suggested.

Renee was still baffled by this all, so much so that she ignored Michelle’s inquiry.

Renee Young: Are you saying you have nothing bad to say about Torrie Wilson?

Michelle: Oh no, I do have bad things to say about Torrie Wilson. Who do you think I am?

Renee Young: Would you care to explain some of these things to us? I’m sure we’re all curious.

Michelle sighed and put her hands up in surrender.

Michelle: If you really want to know. I do have respect for Torrie, but moreso for her character. I admire the fact she can stand in front of all of us and declare what she believes in and stick with it. She’s almost heroic, in that sense. But as a competitor? She doesn’t stand a chance against me. I don’t see her being able to handle me, and I don’t see her becoming women’s champion tonight, or anytime soon for that matter. Because I don’t care for the heroics; I do what I can to win and stay on top. And I really don't care what I may have to do to stay at the top. That’s why I’m women’s champion, and Torrie isn’t. It could also be the fact that she’s rarely made television appearances in the last six months. And then she comes out of nowhere and gets put in her fatal four way, and gets a shot at my title. That kind of sounds like the way Brie earned her shot… What if this is some conspiracy against me?

She looked at Renee with a hand cupped over her mouth, and looked seriously concerned.

Renee Young: I doubt there’s a conspiracy against you, Michelle.

Michelle: You’re probably right. People just hate me. Either way, no matter how big of a coincidence it is that Torrie is making a comeback the same way Brie Bella did, the outcome will be the same. Torrie won’t win. She sucks. Not as a person, just as a competitor, because I’m way more talented than her. I don’t see why I couldn’t go up against someone like Alexa Bliss. Didn’t she beat me? Too bad it wasn’t for the championship. But what can I say? Oh yeah, good girls always get things last. I know for a fact that because Torrie always tries to see things in a positive light, she can’t defeat me. Her judgement is skewed, and that’s what will get in the way of her winning tonight. As soon as she steps in the ring with me, she’ll be part of a completely different story. In all those fairy tales, good triumphs evil. But this is reality, and reality is, people who go and step on those other “good-hearted” people to get what they want, do get what they want. Hades didn’t become the god of the underworld by being nice. He was a complete asshole. I doubt Angelina Love has a good bone in her body, and look, she was the women’s champion. Velvet Sky probably has some good in her. See where that’s got her? Does anyone even see Velvet Sky anymore?

Renee Young: Velvet has a match tonight. It’s for the number one contendership for your belt, actually. Which you may or may not have by the end of the night.

Michelle: Oh. Good for her. I don't like what you're insinuating, Renee, seems a little rude. But I forgive you. Maybe she’ll prove me wrong and win something, in the name of all that’s good. Or justice. Whatever that midget Alexa Bliss says. Nothing can take this championship off me. It’s probably bad karma, me being a bitch to people all the time, but it hasn’t caught up to me yet, right?

It was quiet as both Renee and Michelle pondered her question, but the diva suddenly stood up and took off her headset.

Renee Young: Where are you going?

Michelle: To my locker room, obviously. I don’t have time for any more of your irrelevant questions.

Renee just watched on with a confused look on her face and turned to the camera, making a questioning gesture with her hands.

Renee Young: Looks like we’re done here folks, Todd, Matt, back to you.
