“Rome, once a mighty empire until it fell just like empires before it and empires after it.”

That is the thought running through AJ’s head as she thinks about the upcoming match against Velvet Sky on Christmas Eve of Destruction, in which the Sprint Center, in St. Louis, Missouri is going to host EBWF’s last Blockbuster of the year.

Britani “Paige” Knight: So how are you feeling going into CEoD?

AJ Looks at her friend who is sitting on one of the crates munching on a bag of doritos and gulping down a Mountain Dew since she doesn’t have a match.

AJ Lee: I am pretty confident going into the Last Woman Standing. As far as I see it tonight is the end of an empire in the Last Woman Standing match. Velvet, is like an empire that’s reaching the end of her period of supremacy.

AJ gives a slight evil chuckle.

AJ Lee: I consider her to be the Rome or Babylon of the EBWF Women’s division. For the longest she was a pillar or even a cornerstone to the divas division but as time past her relevance started to dwindle just like the power shifted from those empires to another empire, sure she gained a little bit of relevance with the win of that title but Christmas Eve of Destruction, the final nail will be put in her empire. It will come crashing down and nothing will be left but the charred remains of obscurity.

Britani “Paige” Knight: But if we’re going to use history lessons as an analogy that means if you are classifying yourself as an empire that would insinuate that another empire like myself could come in knock your dynasty down.

AJ Lee: That would hold true if I was any other diva but AJ Lee. I’m not going to be so easily conquered and sent into obscurity because unlike the other competition in this division, I evolve, and I adapt to meet whatever challenge is thrown at me. Velvet, can’t make that claim and that’s why I going to beat her for the title.

Britani “Paige” Knight: You Adapt and I hurt people, together, when we are motivated we can be unstoppable. Together, we’re fixing to get people to take us seriously and not just view us as some joke.

AJ Lee cocks her eyebrow at that comment but decides to just ignore it.

AJ Lee: I have been training intensely with Dolph Ziggler for this match. I’m prepared for this moment and I’m not going to let it pass me by not again. I was so close at the Queen of the Ring to having a chance of competing for the title and ultimately winning it but things didn’t go to plan. I’ll be damned if I’m going to let that happen again.

Britani “Paige” Knight: At least that pesky Bella, Brie isn’t in the match.

AJ Lee: I’ll drink to that. But like I said earlier I believe, Velvet’s time has passed and it’s time for me to start a new era in this division. An Era of Women’s wrestling that isn’t just about cosmetics but just plain talent. I’m not saying she can’t get it done in the ring but the reality of it is that she isn’t on our level.

The mental picture of her making Velvet tap out in the middle of the ring just keeps playing on loop in her mind.

AJ Lee: Most of the year hasn’t been the best for me but things are about to change at CEoD, I can feel it and I know my training with Dolph Ziggler is going to pay off by helping me overcome and win that title. I’m focused and locked in and like a bull that sees red.

Britani “Paige” Knight: Sounds like you’re locked in.

AJ Lee: Locked in and ready to spill her blood. Sunday, I promise that just like Rome and Babylon fell as will her empire, there will be nothing left but bloody remnants of what used to be a cornerstone of this division.

Britani “Paige” Knight: Welcome to the new age.

AJ Lee: And to the end of an age….


With that both AJ and Paige give a fist bump knowing that this is the last time they will be seeing each other for awhile as AJ would be staying in the states and Britani would be flying back to the UK to spend her Christmas with her family before coming back in the new year.
