Christy Hemme: You're a bastard, you know that?
Wes' head snapped up, and Christy's mouth hung open. She hadn't meant to say it. She just did. She saw him and it just came boiling out. He grinned, slightly surprised. He cocked his eyebrow. In true Natalie fashion, she faded into the background, as though she weren't even in the room.
Wes Ikeda: I… know. I didn't know you felt that way though. You alright, babe?
"I'm fine." came the unison response from both Natalie and Christy. Christy rolled her eyes with a huff. Wes cleared his throat.
Wes Ikeda: Natalie, you're holding your head. Are you alright?
"No you idiot. She's dying of the awkwardness!" Christy wanted to scream, but Natalie simply nodded. She reached for a pretzel from a snack bowl on the counter, and then buried her head in the minibar for a bottle of water. Christy composed herself, and started to laugh.
Christy Hemme: Old habits die hard, huh? No, I was just calling you a bastard because you've got me all excited about wrestling again. I mean, I know Torrie needed a little time off, but it felt really good to win. It's making me want to work harder. You put me in this tournament, and it's got me working. I'm really exciting. You're a bastard for getting me excited about being in the ring again. I thought I was passed that.
Wes Ikeda: Well, I expect Daffney is going to take the whole thing, but I'm glad you're thinking about a longer stay in the ring. Let me know if I can help you shake the rust off, huh?
Christy Hemme: Yeah. You know, maybe Natalie can help me out. We're about the same height. That might make it easier. You know, all the girls are really curious about why you're not in the tournament, Natalie.
Natalya: Nagging ankle injury. Thought I'd rest it for the month and see if it feels better.
Wes Ikeda: Is something else bothering you, Chris?
Christy Hemme: No. Just nervous about my match. You know I'm scared of hurting a neck. Anyway, I'm going to leave you two to your evening. I'll see you guys tomorrow.
Christy passed Wes and went to the door. She had her hand on the doorknob, when Wes spoke up in a voice that was nearly intimidating.
Wes Ikeda: Don't think you got away with it. You're either lying to me or keeping something from me, Christy.
Christy turned on her heels, opening the door, glaring at him with her final words.
Christy Hemme: And you're either lying to me or keeping something from me, Wes. So don't even try that bullshit with me.
She looked down so she wouldn't have to admit to herself that her words had stung him. She closed the door, and took a deep breath, leaving her family with Natalie, and going to her room alone.
A big TV with a huge EBWF Logo was in the background as Matt Striker stood with a microphone.
Matt Striker: Ladies and Gentlemen, the red headed spitfire, and former EBWF Women's Champion, Christy Hemme!
Chrisy was all made up, and happily bounced into the frame.
Christy Hemme: Hey Matt!
Matt Striker: Christy, two weeks ago on Warfare, you took on your good friend Torrie Wilson and defeated her to move on in the Queen of the Ring Tournament. How was that for you? It had been your first match back in a while.
Christy Hemme: Torrie is my friend. That was a fantastic match. And now I'm going to take my chances with Tiffany.
Matt Striker: Tiffany is kind of… special, isn't she?
Christy Hemme: Yes, the sole survivor in the midnight gang. The very… interesting girl, who has someone clung on to this man, actually convinced herself that they're in a relationship and… I mean really, what kind of pathetic girl would do that?
"Irony is fun." Christy thought to herself.
Christy Hemme: Tiffany and I are sort of in the same boat. Neither of us wrestle much, and we're both coming off of rare wins for us. Me, over a highly decorated EBWF Diva's Legend, and Tiffany over a girl who has already lost her job. Here's the major difference though. Tiffany doesn't wrestle because she's some sort of drugged up model. I don't do much wrestling anymore because I broke my neck. Wrestling. An actual injury, doing what I do best. And this year, I think I'm ready to make a major comeback. I'm ready to be the wrestler I know I can be. And I don't think Tiffany is going to be a large task. While she's delusional, I'm refocusing all my goals. And right now, at the top of that list, the title of Queen of the Ring. No more modeling, no more band… it's time for Christy Hemme to focus on wrestling. Thanks Matt!
"Yeah. Focus on wrestling. Because it's better than focusing on the truth." Christy smiled and left the frame as the camera faded to black.
