Monday 23rd March 2015 – Monday Night Warfare – Scottrade Center – St. Louis; Missouri

JIM ROSS
That’s it! Sami Zayn squeaks out a hard fought battle against the World Champion!

JERRY LAWLER
Oh my god! What has just happened, JR?!

JIM ROSS
Young Sami Zayn managed to get one over the current World Champion AJ Styles! What a night he is having!

Jim Ross was highlighting an impressive evening for Sami Zayn, since losing the Intercontinental Championship to Trent at Fallout Sami made it his mission to get the championship back, the title Trent and Lance Storm were making a mockery of and earlier on in the evening Sami took it upon himself to ensure the Intercontinental Championship match at WrestleMania wasn’t going to be another mockery and chased the champion and Storm out of the ring and signed on the dotted line himself, making it a triple threat match. After getting his long-awaited rematch for the gold, Sami stepped into the main event on the same night against World Champion AJ Styles, who was looking for momentum heading into his huge title defence at WrestleMania against Dolph Ziggler and after an entertaining, back-and-forth encounter it was Sami Zayn who managed to pull off the victory. After the small package win, he rolled out of the ring in disbelief, his hair a mess and the sweat dripping off him profusely suggesting it was a hard fought battle, he walked up the ramp still facing AJ Styles and had his arm high in the air, before looking up at the ceiling and closing his eyes as his music hit the PA system. After a moment to himself, he celebrated with the fans at the front and pointed to the WrestleMania sign, he then continued to walk up the ramp and as he disappeared through the curtain the altercation between John Cena and Brock Lesnar started. Sami continued to walk through the backstage area knowing what was going on at ringside, as he continued he was stopped in his tracks by Michael Cole who needed to catch a few words with Sami before he could catch a shower and leave the arena.

MICHAEL COLE
Ladies and gentlemen, my guest at this time…Sami Zayn. Sami…WHAT a night it has been for you, I…I don’t even know where to begin, what are your thoughts on your evening as a whole?

Sami laughed a little and accepted the slight bit of praise he was receiving from Michael Cole, he scratched the back of his head as he thought about the night he had and finally responded to the question.

SAMI ZAYN
Yeah…it was…it was definitely a good night for me and it sounded like it was a good night for the fans as well so I’m happy. I knew I had to take control of the situation, put it into my own hands and there was no way those two assholes were going to get their one on one match at WrestleMania and now it’s official, I’m in the match and just like I’ve been saying since the day I lost it…I’m getting that championship back and I’m getting back on the grandest stage of them all; I told you all I’m going to WrestleMania, and now it’s happening and I wish it was tomorrow, but I can wait.

MICHAEL COLE
Well not only that, but you only went on to defeat the World Champion, fair and square in that ring! Now some might argue that the small package wasn’t…

SAMI ZAYN
It was all legal, Michael. I’ve never broken the rules and tonight it was the same, I did what I had to do to score that victory and just like I said since the first time I was booked against AJ Styles months and months ago, I defeated him, 1…2…3. It’s that simple, he didn’t believe it at first but he sure as hell respects me now because now we’ll see what he’s made and how he can regroup before Dolph snatches the title from him. But right now, as much as I enjoyed getting one over AJ, I really couldn’t care less about the result or AJ Styles or the fact that I pinned the World Champion, my focus is on Trent and Lance, and nothing…NOTHING and nobody who can stop me and my momentum heading into WrestleMania.

Sami was about to walk away, determined that he wouldn’t be beaten at WrestleMania but Cole stopped him in his tracks before he could walk away.

MICHAEL COLE
Um…before you leave Sami we just have a bit of breaking news to share with you. We all share your enthusiasm for WrestleMania and the Intercontinental Championship match, but I’ve just been informed that you WILL be on Monday Night Warfare next week, the final stop before WrestleMania and you’re opponent…The Rock.

The crowd erupted in cheers as they heard The Rock’s name pop up as Sami Zayn’s opponent for next week, the camera zoomed into Sami’s face who nodded his head, knowing he had a tough opponent to get through and that he needed the win for the well-needed momentum heading into WrestleMania.

SAMI ZAYN
As I said Cole…nothing and nobody can stop me, not even The Rock.

Sami walked off as Cole was staring at him as he walked away. Now booked against The Great One, a win would be a huge boost heading into WrestleMania and Sami was very confident of being booked to win the match but only time will tell whether Zayn could get through an unbeaten month to challenge for the Intercontinental Championship, only The Rock was standing in his way and there is no bigger roadblock in the EBWF.

Thursday 26th March 2015 – EBWF House Show - Havert L. Fenn Center – Fort Pierce; Florida

The EBWF was in Florida for the next set of house shows and the crowd were excited to see some of their favourite superstars and divas in attendance, and they were clearly happy to see Sami Zayn as his theme music blasted the PA system and dancing out on to the stage was Sami Zayn. He was full of smiles, in a great mood as things were going his way so far and he wanted to pick up a victory for the fans in attendance also. He danced his way down the ramp and on to the steel steps, pumping up the Florida crowd before getting into the ring and dancing some more before his music stopped and he finally addressed the crowd over the loud ‘Ole!’ chants.

SAMI ZAYN
Thank you…I appreciate it. It looks like we had some time before my match tonight so I thought why not get on the microphone and talk about my upcoming match in Chicago next week…against The Rock.

The fans erupted in cheers at his name and Sami looked around, knowing that it would get a loud, positive reaction and he smiled back at the fans sharing their excitement.

SAMI ZAYN
I know, right? I mean I get The Rock one on one inside the ring, something certain stars can only dream of and come Monday, in Chicago at the Allstate Arena, I not only go one on one against Dwayne The Rock Johnson, I pin his shoulders to the mat! It’s not just talk, I’m not pumping myself up so I can stand here in front of you all and try to make you all believe I can do it, because deep down I know, and I know that all of you know Sami Zayn can and will defeat The Rock. Now, don’t get me wrong, you have no idea how excited I am to be facing someone with the reputation of The Rock because as a kid I grew up watching him run through his opponents, with his words with his charisma with his ability to defeat anyone inside of the ring…but it’s not 1998 anymore. Time have changed, the fans have changed, the whole business has changed but The Rock is still adamant that he is the man around here, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you are way, way past your sell by date and the only reason you are still around here is because of the name and the Hollywood career you carved for yourself when you couldn’t hack it in the business anymore!

The fans cheered for Sami Zayn and his newfound confidence, as he tried to utilise it as best as he could heading into a match with the man who has the best confidence.

SAMI ZAYN
Don’t get me wrong though, you’re still entertaining as hell, you still crack the jokes which make me and the guys at the back laugh for days, you still seem to give it your all in the ring and I respect that, because now your career isn’t at its highest point like it was all those years ago, but you are still here, still sticking around to prove to us you are committed. But only you know how long that can last, you might stay here until the day you die or you might call it quits when in the record books it says Sami Zayn beat your ass, only time will tell. You’ve been here a while now, your latest return to the business, what is it, 45, 46 returns now? You’ve made your return and you’ve picked up the wins like only The Rock can, you’ve talked the talk like only The Rock can, you’ve been put into championship matches like only The Rock can…but you’ve lost which isn’t like The Rock. You’ve failed, which isn’t like The Rock, and slowly, but surely you are falling further and further down the pecking order and as a fan of The Rock I just cannot see that happen. I think you should count yourself lucky that it’s me you’re in that ring with and not anybody else because they’d show no mercy in ending what little you have left of your career, whereas I actually have a heart and even though I’m going to kick your head off of your shoulders, I still hope you can walk out of the arena and entertain your millions and millions.

He dropped his arm as he grew a little bit more agitated but the fans were still on his side, Sami knew the fans would never turn against The Rock and that’s now what he intended on doing, he was simply telling them the truth that today, The Rock is unable to defeat Sami Zayn.

SAMI ZAYN
The funny thing is, The Rock has heard every insult in the book, especially the old, aged and past-it card but the fact is, it’s true. He’s not the same man he once was and those cracks will show once again on Warfare next week. While you’re clanging and banging and eating pie and flying in your jets and filming your movies and signing your autographs, I’m inside this ring doing the only thing I love doing and that is wrestling, I’m not an EBWF superstar like you or anyone else backstage, I’m an EBWF wrestler and I’ll prove that to you on Monday. I’m going to WrestleMania one way or another and as much as I’d love to take a week of and train for that championship match, I will not hesitate in defeating you at Warfare because any victory over The Rock is a good victory, regardless of how irrelevant you are in people’s eyes, in my eyes you are a prime target and a target I would love to destroy more than anything heading into WrestleMania.

Sami Zayn continued to walk around the ring and then leaned on the ropes facing the ramp and started to think deeply about something before finally speaking as his time on the microphone was decreasing by the minute.

SAMI ZAYN
It’s funny to me though, here I am standing just days before my match with The Rock, arguably the biggest match of my career so far and not far off WrestleMania either, I’m here competing and he’s not, so it shows who loves this business more but while I am here just itching for Monday to roll around so I can stand in front of him, he still has no idea just who the hell I am. That’s fine by me though, I mean he’ll wake up at 4:30 and catch his flight and go clanging and banging and eating pie and hold his interviews and turn left at this street and that street and come to the arena and tell the fans that finally he has come back to Chicago and then run his mouth off at the fact that he’s facing somebody called Sami Zayn, somebody he has never heard of and he’ll come up with the witty jokes that even I’ll laugh at…but then I’m running down that ring and hitting him with the Helluva Kick and shutting him up once and for all. I might even treat him to a special Koji Clutch to make him feel extra special and make him realise that as the years have gone by, he’s not improved on anything but the standard of wrestlers has and he’s getting the best one all to himself. Now while I’m here wanting to get inside that ring with him, he has no idea who I am but what he needs to realise is that there’s a reason people all over the world are talking about me, why the majority of the roster wants to stand inside a ring with me and have a match, there’s a reason why I’m the number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship and I’ll show you why that is next week when I kick your ass all over Chicago!

Sami dropped the microphone as he took off his shirt, waiting for his opponent on the house show as he was clearly pumped about taking on The Rock, the biggest name he has ever faced in his wrestling career so far and even though he had his spot reserved at WrestleMania, he wanted the win against The Rock no matter what.

Monday 30th March 2015 – Monday Night Warfare – Allstate Arena – Chicago; Illinois

The majority of matches had now taken place, with only the matches between Justin Gabriel and Brian Kendrick as well as The Rock and Sami Zayn remaining, the cameras were backstage with Renee Young who had a guest standing with her.

RENEE YOUNG
Ladies and gentlemen, joining me before his huge match a little later on in the evening, Sami Zayn. Sami, thank you for joining us.

SAMI ZAYN
Thank you for having me, Renee.

RENEE YOUNG
Well thank you for taking the time out to talk to us before your big match…some call it your biggest match of your career, taking on The Rock; what are your thoughts on it right now?

SAMI ZAYN
My thoughts on my match are the same every time I am supposed to go in the ring, I’m not like a Brock Lesnar or a Ryback who walk in and leave bodies in their wake, I’m not a scumbag cheat either who runs away from a fight so right now my focus is on going out there and doing what I do best, regardless of who the opponent is but tonight it just so happens to be one of the greatest of all time standing opposite me.

RENEE YOUNG
As you said, The Rock is one of the greatest of all time, and it’s the last stop before your own big match at WrestleMania, how will this affect your preparations?

SAMI ZAYN
It’s not ideal, no. But I’m not one to make excuses, for all I care I could have been booked for three matches tonight and head into WrestleMania as well, the fact remains, I will win tonight and I will win at WrestleMania, nothing changes that, not Trent, not Lance Storm and certainly not Dwayne Johnson.

RENEE YOUNG
A little earlier we showed some exclusive footage of you at the recent EBWF House Show in Florida, and you certainly had some…strong words for The Rock, do you think they could have any effect on The Rock?

SAMI ZAYN
I don’t think anything affects The Rock, certainly not me. It wasn’t an attempt to play mind games or get under his skin, I just told him and the fans the facts. The fact that he’s not the same, the fact he’s never stepped into a ring with someone like me, and the fact that regardless of who he is, Sami Zayn is still going to beat his ass and after tonight I can focus on my championship match, tonight The Great One will realise that there’s only one Zayn that deserves to be in the news this week and the only Zayn he needs to worry about.

Sami walked away from the interview as Renee Young smiled politely as the screen faded to black, Sami went off for his last minute preparations against The Great One in an encounter he was looking forward to since the announcement.
