Not Real

Post by Cory »

The EBWF logo flashed in the center of the screen, and in faded Renee Young who sat in a plush microfiber chair. Opposite her was Natalie Neidhart, dressed in a long sleeve red sequin short dress, her hair styled to one side. She smiled brightly into the camera.

Renee Young: Greetings, EBWF Universe! My name is Renee Young and I am the host for this EBWF.net exclusive interview. With me is a former EBWF Women's Champion and a mainstay in the Women's division, Natalya. Natalya, thanks for being a part of this interview today.

Natalya: A pleasure, as always.

Renee Young: I want to talk to you about your match against Sasha Banks. How do you prepare for a match like this?

Natalya: Renee, I'm pretty sure there's no way to prepare for a paddle match. It could possibly be the most demeaning, ridiculous stipulation in the history of Women's matches. It literally was luck of the draw, though. So, here I am. Ready to engage in this nonsense.

Renee Young: Do you think your opponent, Sasha Banks, is more excited about this match than you are?

Natalya: Ah, I see. This is the part where I'm supposed to get all salacious and let everyone know that I think Sasha Banks is trashy, and that a trash bag like her would absolutely love a paddle match.

Natalya narrowed her eyes and leaned a little closer to Renee.

Natalya: Let me tell you something. I've been in the EBWF for a while now. I am not the youngest girl on the roster, but I'm not the oldest either. I've seen vapid, worthless girls come and go. I know real worth when I see it. Sasha Banks? I guarantee you that deep down inside, she's just as sick of this kind of nonsense as I am. She's a wrestler, Renee. She's wanted to be one since the beginning. I've seen the look in her eye, Renee. She's the Women's Champion because she's a hungry, vicious, and ready to take on the world. So no, Renee. I don't think she's excited about this match.

Renee Young: Sasha and her friends in the Mean Girls have been rather vocal about you on Twitter. What's your response to them?

Natalya smiled.

Natalya: If the girls want to score a few more followers by putting me on blast, let them. As long as they can back it up in the ring, that's all that matters to me.

Renee Young: Do you have any words for Sasha Banks?

Natalya: Sasha, you may not like me for whatever reason, but that doesn't matter to me. You're probably going to come out here and call me old. Or washed up. Or yesterday's news. That doesn't matter either. Maybe you'll make fun of my looks, or my hair. That's great. That's what makes you a "mean girl". But you know what? I know that somewhere beyond all that is a woman who is a wrestler. A woman who knows she's the best and will take on anyone who wants to prove otherwise. So, I'm talking to that woman right now.

Natalya smiled at the camera.

Natalya: I'll see you Monday.

Natalya waved as the scene faded to an EBWF logo.
