So It Begins.

This was it, after several months of being on the injured list with a severe foot injury that took several months of rehabbing and treatment. But Evan Bourne was now at 100% and he was ready to step back into the ring. Things didn’t work out for him in the end with WWE as contract talks fell apart on both sides, however it didn’t take too long for Evan to find a new home, and that home was on EBWF. It was a fresh start for Evan Bourne and he wanted to make an impact for his new company immediately. The high flyer was lucky enough to get a spot on the upcoming pay per view in a match against James Storm. The scene was set up in a hospital at St. Louis Missouri which was Evan’s hometown and not too far away from Kansas City which was the venue of the pay per view. He had to go in for his routine check-up to ensure that his foot was in good shape for his match. Evan had walked into the doctor’s office and sat down in an upright position on the operating table as the doctor arrived into the room a short while after with a clipboard in hand, he places it onto the table as Evan looks at him.
Matthew Korklan
Busy day?
Dr. Jones
You know it, I’ve been up at it since 6:30 am and there’s no end in sight. Not to mention the rowdy patients who complain about the long wait time.
Matthew Korklan
Yeah, I can imagine. I saw a couple of people complaining to the receptionist when I was in the waiting room. It was brutal.
The both of them share a laugh as the doctor rolls up his sleeves and looks at Evan’s leg.
Dr. Jones
So how is the foot doing? Keeping up with the treatment I hope?
Matthew Korklan
You know it! I don’t want any setbacks with this foot, especially since I’ve signed on with a new wrestling company and have a big match at the end of the week. I don’t remember the last time I was so excited to be able to fit my foot into my wrestling boots, I’m anxious to get started that’s for sure!
Evan elevates his foot as he had removed his footwear and his socks so that the doctor could carefully inspect if there were any side effects with the foot, however he nods his head in approval of what he saw.
Dr. Jones
Yes, everything looks to be right on track with the healing process. You should be fine for that match of yours this week. I’ve tuned into a few shows during my free time, and I’ve got to say…I have no idea how you people do it.
Matthew Korklan
Yeah, I’ve heard that from a lot of people…it’s not easy that’s for sure. We take a lot of risks when we step into the squared circle, but in the end it’s all worth it with the reaction we elicit from the crowd and the smile we put on their faces when we give it our all and never hold back.
Dr. Jones
I really admire that. Being a wrestler is definitely hard work, and you folks definitely keep us doctors busy!
The both of them share a laugh at his joke, as Evan proceeds to put his sock as well as his shoe back on as the doctor had finished checking up on his foot.
Matthew Korklan
Alright doc, I better get going. I don’t want the other patients in the waiting room giving your receptionist or you a hard time. ~laughs~ You know, the next time Warfare or Total Recall is live from St. Louis you should definitely get a ticket and watch us perform live, I’m sure it would be a fun experience for yourself.
Dr. Jones
Now there’s a good idea! And something that I will definitely consider, thanks for the heads up and good luck in your match this Sunday, take care of that foot you hear me?
Evan chuckles once more as he nods his head and bids the doctor a farewell as he walks out of the doctor’s office.
End Scene One.
Scene Two: Near Miss.
The King of the Ring pay per view was only a few hours away now, as the superstars and divas of the roster were making some last minute preparations for their respective matches on the show. Including Evan Bourne, who was set to make his debut against James Storm. The high flyer was anxious to make his debut on EBWF after being fully recovered from his serious foot injury. The scene was set in the backstage area of the Sprint Center in Kansas City Missouri, where Evan was dressed in his ring gear and was walking through the hallways, greeting various stagehands and backstage workers along the way as he familiarized himself with everything in the arena. A few moments into his backstage stroll, he spots another member of the roster, upon further review that turned out to be Maria Kanellis, who was also making her debut on the pay per view in a major title match. Her back was facing him so he decided to call out to her. Little did he know that she had earphones on so she couldn’t hear him.
Evan Bourne
Hey Maria!
As expected, she hadn’t heard him call out to her as it was evident that she was listening to some music while psyching herself up for her match tonight. She began throwing punches into thin air practicing her striking. Evan slowly approaches her about to tap her on the shoulder however Maria out of instinct proceeded to turn around and resume her striking motions as a result she had almost punched Evan right in the face, however he managed to dodge it just in the nick of time. She proceeds to gasp from the near miss of the punch removing the earphones from out of her ears as Evan stands upright and chuckles, running the palm of his hand over his head.
Evan Bourne
Whoa, that’s quite a right hook you have there. You almost nailed me right on the chin and knocked me out! Definitely not the ideal situation I want to be in heading into my match tonight.
Evan continues to laugh while Maria was still a little shaken up following what she had just nearly done.
Maria Kanellis
Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry. I didn’t know you were standing there. I was just loosening up before my match and was just listening to some music so I was in my own little world.
Evan Bourne
Hey! Don’t worry about it, it’s perfectly fine. You must have been listening to some motivational music to get you all fired up and energized for your match.
Maria Kanellis
Oh no not really, it was just one of the songs from my albums that came out two years ago. I know, you must think I’m silly for doing that
Evan Bourne
Not at all! I’ve actually listened to a few songs on that album. You’ve got great vocals and real soothing voice. I’m not sure if it was your intention or not, but that voice of yours really helps relieve stress, for me at least! So when should I be expecting your next single?
He proceeds to chuckle as Maria’s cheeks turn a bright shade of pink as she looks down at the floor and scrapes her boot along the ground.
Maria Kanellis
Awww, really? Thank you…I don’t know what to say to that. I really enjoying singing, but that takes a backseat to wrestling, so I’m glad that I’m back in a wrestling company and ready to kick some butt!
She now raises her head and looks into her eyes, with a determined look on her face.
Evan Bourne
Now that’s the spirit! And what an opportunity you have, in a match for the Sky High Championship. It’s evident that management sees your potential and knows that you’re bound to accomplish great things here on EBWF which is why you’ve been rewarded with a championship match.
Maria Kanellis
I was really shocked to be placed in a match with championship implications. It’s certainly not going to be easy going up against two women who’ve been around here a lot longer than I have, but I will have to make the most out of this opportunity. I know Brooke has been fighting hard as of late and would like nothing more than to dethrone Layla. While Layla being the reigning champion heading into the match is going to try everything to make sure she leaves the Sprint Center with her precious title intact. Now where does that leave me? Well, I don’t think anyone expects me to walk out with the title by the end of the match but that is fine…I relish the underdog role very much, Layla and Brooke have no idea what they’re in for!
She kept the determined look expressed on her face while her fists were clenched into a round ball.
Evan Bourne
It’s just an example of element of surprise and you’re going to do great out there Maria I just know it. I’ve got a match of my own against James Storm to open up the show. Even though there’s no championship at stake, I can’t take this match lightly as it’s my debut match. I want to leave a lasting memorable impression on management to show them that I’m ready to take the next step and compete for championship gold of my own. It’ll take a while for me to get myself in contention for some championship gold but I’m certainly not going to give up.
Now it was Evan who expressed a look of determination on his face as he was focused on putting on a great show for the fans and showing everyone that he was the real deal and wasn’t going to be pushed around by anyone despite his size. Maria nods her head in approval of what he had just said as she smiles.
Maria Kanellis
I’ll definitely be rooting for you in your match Evan. It’s certainly a great way to kick off the pay per view and the fans will definitely be on the edge of their seats watching your exciting high flying moves, oh and I’ll definitely be on the edge of my seat as well watching the breathtaking moves that you perform.
There was a faraway look in Maria’s eyes as she seemed excited to watch him compete as well as competing in her title match.
Evan Bourne
I’ll be cheering you on as well. My match is a few moments away so I got to head out to the ring. So, I’ll see you after the show? Good luck out there again, the next time I see you, you’ll be accompanied with the Sky High championship title around your waist yes?
He gives her a warm smile as he was just about to walk past her, however he felt her place her right hand on his forearm preventing him from going anywhere and planting a quick peck on his cheek, sort of like a good luck kiss, Evan was certainly caught off guard by it as he stood frozen on the spot getting all shy, while Maria giggles sticking her earphones back into her ears and walking past him, presumably to her locker room to wait out the last few moment before she was called upon to compete for her match and probably to watch his match as well. This was it for Evan Bourne, his debut match was mere minutes away and he was looking to seize this opportunity and accomplish great things on EBWF. Would he fulfill his dreams? Or would he simply fade under the woodwork? Only time will tell.
End Scene Two and Roleplay.
