JOHN CENA WRAPS CAR AROUND TREE

John Cena has impressed the world with his strength in numerous occasions in the ring however it was not by his own merits that Cena’s black 2012 Mustang GT California Special ended up wrapped around a small tree. The accident happened Saturday, June 30, 2012 at approximately 2:30 pm when, based on eyewitness accounts, Cena was apparently leaving Forest Park.

Pedestrian Rey Wilkes was walking his dog nearby and witnessed the accident. “The car took the corner very wide and for a second it looked as if he just lost all control. Then he shot into the incoming lane and seemed to pick up more speed before lurching to the left, hitting the curb, shooting sideways and slamming into the tree. It sounded like an explosion. I thought for sure whoever was in that car was dead.” Wilkes called 911 and immediately reported the accident from his cell phone.

Amazingly enough Cena suffered only minor cuts and bruises and later refused any form of medical treatment by paramedics. He reportedly removed himself from the car several minutes after impact and, according to Wilkes, “looked at me then calmly walked a few feet away, sat down on the ground, and seemed to just be waiting.”

Other witnesses on scene described Cena as “seeming a little off” and “detached” however when police, fire, and medic arrived on scene the wrestler was deemed fit to medically refuse care. Based on witness statements, and Cena’s own admission of having ingested “2 bottles of beer” prior to operating his vehicle, police issued a breathalyzer test in which Cena scored a 0.03, well below the legal limit.

Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson did not seem as concerned by Cena’s behavior as bystanders. “If the tree had come 3 inches further into the side of the car Mr. Cena would have most likely been killed. It is not uncommon for accident victims to act a little distant, disjointed, or even angry like Mr. Cena. We attribute this to shock which is very common following a motor vehicle collision.”

Cena reportedly told police officers he was on his way to Lambert St. Louis International Airport, had lost track of time during a detour to the park, and had been in a hurry to avoid missing his flight and had not realized the speed at which he had been traveling. Police normally are able to predict speeds based on skid marks and other such physical signs however there were none found at the scene. They estimate, based on the level of damage, Cena was driving a minimum of 30 miles over the posted speed limit for the area. On television programming the former fan favorite has had a fall from grace the past few months that seems to have transferred over into his personal life. As some may remember this is not John Cena’s first run in with the St. Louis Police Department. Last year Cena was arrested and charged with numerous felony and misdemeanor charges against both former NBC executive Roger Pratt as well as the St. Louis Police Department. Later all charges were dropped and Cena was cleared of all wrongdoing. Though he could have been charged with careless driving Cena was instead ticketed for driving at excessive speeds and failure to wear a seatbelt, a small reprieve for the new black sheep of the EBWF. Even Wilkes, an admittedly former Cena fan and frequent viewer of the St. Louis based company, seemed relieved on hearing the news.

“He didn’t look good. He was just so blank. He didn’t seem shaken up, or shocked, or anything. I know it sounds kind of strange, but he just seemed… disappointed.”

John Cena was unable to be reached for comment.
