The scene opened up with Michael Cole, who stood in front of the EBWF logo backdrop in the interview area. He smiled to the camera and spoke into his microphone.
Michael: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, Michael Cole here at the MTS Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada for Warfare. Allow me to introduce at this time, my guest and former Women's champion, Velvet Sky!
Velvet smiled and waved to the camera once she walked into the frame.
Velvet: Pleasure to be here, Michael, thank you.
Michael: Certainly. The pleasure is all mine. Now Velvet, it's no secret that you've been on a bit of a losing streak as of late, any comments on perhaps why?
Velvet: You know, Michael, sometimes you have high moments and sometimes you have low moments. Lately, I've been on a bit of a low. I admit it and I'm definitely not proud of it. But tonight, I feel, is a perfect time to change it around for myself. I, along with most of the women in the locker room, have been gifted a chance to earn a shot at the Women's title. I'm not going to lie, my last title run was awful. It didn't turn out the way I wanted and it's time to change that. You see, for far too long, I have sat back there and tried to always do the right thing. I've waited for my chance to come and I let it pass me by way too many times. I have no one else to blame but myself. There are no excuses for my losses. I can't change what has already happened, but I can change what WILL happen.
Michael: I assume this change is going to start with your match tonight in the first round of Queen of the Ring matches? You are scheduled to face Mighty Molly this evening, do you have any thoughts to share with us about this match?
Velvet: Absolutely. I respect Mighty Molly like no other. She did amazing things for Women's wrestling and I use to sit home and watch her wrestle all the time. She is among the handful of women who inspired me to get into this business. She's even done well for herself since she stepped foot here in EBWF, there is no denying that. However, Mighty Molly is in my house now. I've been here for quite some time now, and she is new on the scene as far as EBWF goes. While I do respect Molly, it won't hold me back from what I need to do. I need this win. I have never won a Queen of the Ring since I've been under contract. I feel this really could be my year, so I'm in it for the long haul. I'm going to make damn sure that I'm not eliminated in the first round, that I CAN promise.
Michael: Well if you defeat Molly this evening, then you will advance to face either Trish Stratus or Becky Lynch.
Velvet nodded her head and smiled.
Velvet: Two very worthy opponents for sure. Trish has always been one hell of an opponent, so I will have to keep a close eye on this one. Becky Lynch is a promising up and coming talent as well, so it will be interesting to see what happens tonight. Either way, I will save my focus on that match when it happens. The only thing I am going to worry myself with tonight is my match with Molly. I know she's an impressive wrestler and my hat is off to her, for everything she has done for women such as myself. To be in this male dominated business and have a fighting chance to make something of myself. I definitely would not be standing here if it weren't for women like Molly, Trish, Lita, Torrie and Natalya. I'm honored to be here and have a chance like this. But tonight? Tonight is a chance to fight for what I believe I deserve. Another shot at the EBWF Women's championship. It's time to kick Sasha Banks off her throne and bring the women's division back to it's former glory.
Michael Cole: I'm not sure the Women's champion would appreciate hearing what you had to say.
Velvet shrugged her shoulders.
Velvet: I don't really give a rats ass what our champ thinks. Her and her hyena groupies think everything is a freakin' joke. They don't respect anyone but themselves. I think the whole women's locker room is fed up of the three of them. We're all sick of this division being a joke. The Mean Girls are stuck in that high school mentality and they've turned the division into a laughing stock. Sasha doesn't build upon what was already there, set by women before her. No, instead she destroys everything all the women before us worked so hard to achieve. It's time to shut that down so she better watch her back. She's got a whole locker room full of pissed off women aiming for her title.
Michael Cole: Any last words for us before tonight's match against Mighty Molly?
Velvet: The journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step. Tonight, is my first step. I find myself in a battle with Molly, a battle I plan to win. I'm looking to win this entire war, so bring your "A" game Molly, I'll be sure to bring mine.
Michael Cole: Well I certainly wish you the best of luck. If you're watching from home, be sure to stay tuned in as the action unfolds.
Velvet: Thank you.
She smiled and walked off the interview set. She jumped when she noticed Justin Gabriel standing nearby. He leaned up against one of the concrete posts with his arms folded against his chest. She hadn't expected him to be there which caught her off guard.
Velvet: Oh, I didn't see you there! I thought you were getting ready for your match.
Justin slowly nodded his head, raising his eyebrow at her reaction to him being there. He seemed a bit suspicious and looked around.
Justin: Why would it matter if I was or wasn't? Who are you trying to meet without me around?
Justin has raised his voice just a little, getting frustrated with her. Velvet looked confused and shook her head.
Velvet: What are you talking about? I'm not trying to meet anyone... I - I was just doing a small interview with Cole before my match. What is wrong with you?
Justin's face was stern as he looked at her with hardened eyes.
Justin: What's wrong with me? Not a god damn thing. I'm simply keeping an eye out for your well being. It's tournament season, you don't need to be here, there, and everywhere for someone to attack you. You're practically an open, walking target right now. Be smart about this!
Justin hissed the last word through his teeth. Velvet scoffed at the same time he reached out and grabbed her upper arm firmly, pulling her towards him.
Justin: Now come with me, it's time to get your head in the game.
Justin looked to the right and left again, scanning the faces around them for anyone who seemed suspicious. He didn't want anyone trying to get to him through his girl. It could be a weakness for him and he couldn't have that.
Justin: Besides, I need you to win tonight. I can't keep having you lose.
Velvet: But I won our inter-gender match-
Justin: No! I WON the match because I had to help you! There is no excuse for it. Now c'mon!
Justin tugged on her arm to get her walking with him. Velvet winced.
Velvet: Justin, please stop. You're hurting me...
Justin: Then stop fighting me and it won't hurt.
Justin mumbled back to her as he dragged her behind him, the cameras faded out to black.
