Orton vs. Crowe

JIM ROSS
And just like that, Solomon Crowe is through to the next round of the King of the Ring tournament!
JERRY LAWLER
Luke Harper is no slouch, JR! That was an impressive victory!
JIM ROSS
And with the main event next, you can be sure Solomon Crowe will have one eye on that match as Matt Jackson takes on Randy Orton in the main event, next!
Space Dementia by Muse continued to play on the PA system as Crowe got to his knees and wiped his hair away from his eyes as they remained fixed on Luke Harper. He had a sadistic smile on his face, clearly happy with his handy work in taking down a monster in the form of Luke Harper. At first it looked as if he wasn’t done, like he wanted to beat down on him some more but instead he shook his head and dropped his body to the mat, rolling out of the ring with his hand on his hips, spitting on the ground as he looked up at the titan-tron with the camera still fixed on him. He gave a quick glare into the camera before looking away, the camera continued to follow him up the ramp as he then looked back into the camera and mouthed the words “I’m your King” multiple times before shoving the cameraman and the camera out of the way and disappearing through the curtains so the main event could begin.
The match between Matt Jackson and Randy Orton came to an end which saw Orton hit the RKO for the win, and meant he would face Solomon Crowe in the next round. During the celebrations towards the end of the show, the cameras cut to the backstage area where fans started to boo, Solomon Crowe was standing with a towel around his neck, wiping his face as he stood in front of a monitor watching Orton on the screen. He smiled and nodded his head, suggesting the right man won and he wanted to be the one to defeat Orton in a tournament he found great success in. His evil smile was on show from the moment the camera focused on him, right up until Renee Young approached him and tapped him on his shoulder, he slowly turned his body around but his head was still facing the monitor, looking at Randy Orton before finally turning towards Renee Young.
RENEE YOUNG
Solomon, you managed to defeat the big man in Luke Harper in the King of the Ring tournament, and now you know who your opponent will be next week…Randy Orton. What are your thoughts on this match-up?
Crowe smiled at Renee and snarled, thinking about the question and it almost looked as if he started to daydream, looking to the opposite of Renee he answered her question.
SOLOMON CROWE
I always knew I’d defeat Luke Harper, I knew that, I told everyone, and I showed it, I proved it just like I prove myself every single week. It’s nothing new, I don’t know why people act surprised, it was only a matter of when, not if. And now, I get what I want. I told you all last week, to be the King of the Ring, you need to defeat the so-called King of the Ring and now…I have that opportunity. Most of the superstars in my position right now – well first they wouldn’t get past Luke Harper like I did – but if they somehow were able to stand on their own two feet after a match with him and realise the very next week they have to go up against Randy Orton…the janitors would probably cleaning their piss from this very floor we’re standing on. But not me. To Randy Orton, I am an afterthought, he believes this tournament is created for him, that he can come and go when he pleases but next week, he will realise that Solomon Crowe is not Matt Jackson, he is someone far superior, better than Randy Orton in his prime. It will hit him that all of this time off did him more harm than good, and this throne he claims is his…it was never his, I’m taking it from that son of a bitch.
RENEE YOUNG
So what should we expect from your match with Randy Orton next week on Warfare?
Crowe finally turned his head to Renee and started to laugh, suggesting that she should already know what to expect. He leaned down to reach her level so he could look her in the eye to talk to her.
SOLOMON CROWE
Next week you won’t be chasing guys and girls in this backstage area, even YOU will be glued to a television set because deep down, everyone including YOU wants to see Randy Orton fail, it’s only a matter of time, somebody has to put him in his place and kick his ass…unfortunately for him it’s Solomon Crowe.
Crowe barged past Renee Young who wanted to ask another question but was unable to, staring at Crowe and looking back at the camera in awkwardness as Crowe made his intent clear before walking away, going off to prepare for his huge main event match next week in the King of the Ring tournament, against Randy Orton.

Thursday June 11 2015 – The Crowe’s Nest – Anonymous Location
After defeating Luke Harper in the King of the Ring tournament on Monday, Solomon Crowe’s attention now turned to the reigning King of the Ring, Randy Orton. Last week, Crowe made his feelings towards Orton clear, at that time he didn’t know Orton would be his next opponent but he didn’t hide the fact that the only way he would be the true King, is to dethrone the current King, so fans tuning in to The Crowe’s Nest would know what to expect and Crowe wasn’t going to go down without a fight.
The scene opened up inside of The Crowe’s Nest, with the usual setting of the big desk with computing set-ups on it in a dark room, with the light from the monitors showing Crowe’s figure as he sat on his swivelling office chair. He started to tap on his desk with four of his fingers, coughing before stopping the annoying tapping sound and leaning forward, talking into the camera with half of his face visible.
SOLOMON CROWE
It’s funny how things work out at times. Last week I sat in this very chair, holding up a photograph of that weasel, Randy Orton. I sat here and told him, and everyone else that if he wants to be the king again then he would need to get through me, and if I wanted to be the king – which I do – I WILL steamroll right through him. And what do you know? Next week, the main event of Warfare in the next round of the King of the Ring, Solomon Crowe and Randy Orton meet for the very first time inside of the ring, face to face.
Crowe leaned back and thought about the match, personally it was an exciting prospect for him, but as Crowe he wanted to punish Orton like nobody before him ever has. He continued to think about the match he was heading into, and the task at hand and as always like with every single opponent he faced in the EBWF, he looked confident.
SOLOMON CROWE
I think…you said it best yourself. You have a family now Randy, you need to step up and be a man for once in your life, because you’re not under anyone’s wing any more, you need to be your own man, think what’s best for you and your family. Me personally, I think what’s best for you and your family is a 35 year old Randy Orton who can actually be a husband, who can actually be a father and see out a happy, healthy life…but what do you care about what I think? I know you, you’re almost as twisted as I am, when somebody tells us not to do something, people like you and I go out there and do we things ten times worse. No but seriously Randy…think about it this time. Is it really worth coming back to win the crown for a third time? Or attempt to at least? Because we all know you’re not the same superstar that has dominated the business from years gone by, that was clear to me on Monday when I watched your match against little Jackson and you looked like a frail old version of the man people once feared. Let’s put things into perspective here, you still think you have it going on which is great, we all need something to make us feel…relevant and wanted so please, continue thinking you’re still the one keeping this ship afloat, you are adamant that for the third consecutive time, you will become the King of the Ring…the only difference is the previous two tournaments where you sat on the throne, Solomon Crowe was not involved. This time I am, and this time the result will not be the same, because this time the king will fall in the second round. And when you do, the legacy you have worked hard to build, it crumbles, all of your achievements crumble along with it and quite simply, you’re just going to be another forgotten name who once had the world at his feet and had people bowing down to him for two years, but no more.
Crowe started to laugh at the prospect of ending Randy Orton, something fans knew wouldn’t ever happen as he was such a huge name in the industry, but it still fired Crowe up knowing he could pick up a win over the former World Champion.
SOLOMON CROWE
I saw what you had to say last week though, I’ll admit, I am taken back by your level of confidence in yourself, especially when somebody has been out of action for so long. But one thing really hit me, rather…pissed me off because people like you have the freedom to say whatever it is you want and get away whether it especially when it’s a piece of fiction, YOU have been ruling from the shadows for two years? Ruling? If I’m being honest with you randy, when I first arrived here I didn’t even know we had a King of the Ring, so this whole notion of you ruling from the shadows…I don’t know whether it’s laughable or whether it makes me sick to my stomach because a king makes sure his presence is felt every single week. Were you there…every single week? Were you there making that presence felt? Were you striking fear into every single superstar and diva who you walked past? Were you a leader? Were you the dictator this company needed? No, you simply were and remain a dick. Did you have people showing any respect to you? No, you didn’t do any of that and it was left to ME to act like a king, to rule over everyone else from the moment I stepped foot in the company and turned it upside down, I acted like the king, I put fear into everyone, not you. You’re just a petty, aging man who thinks he still has what it takes to sit on a throne and rule, you’re not Randy. You have nothing left, one victory over a Young Buck isn’t damn near enough to tell me I should be afraid of you and there’s no way you or anyone else in this business can make me believe that Randy Orton is capable of becoming the supposed King of the Ring for a third time, it’s all talk and for the first time…you’re going to have to actually back up your words.
Crowe calmed himself down a little, clearly a little frustrated and started to vent his anger out a little, getting his thoughts out there more than he usually does. He brushed his hair back with his palms and shuffled in his seat again before recomposing himself as he continued.
SOLOMON CROWE
You’ve said a lot of people have asked you the same stupid question over and over, about whether you’re really attempting to ‘win’ the King of the Ring again. I’ve got a stupid question for you, Randy. Do you really think you stand a chance against Solomon Crowe, one on one in the middle of the ring?
Crowe smiled at the camera, sitting in his office chair in the same manner that Orton sat in his throne, mocking him with the same evil grin on his face as the camera faded out to end The Crowe’s Nest segment with Solomon Crowe having some tough words for Randy Orton.

Monday June 15 2015 – Monday Night Warfare - Pinnacle Bank Arena – Lincoln; Nebraska
The EBWF was in Nebraska for another episode of Warfare, featuring a jam-packed card featuring some highly anticipated King and Queen of the Ring tournament matches with some big names involved on the night, eyes were definitely going to be glued to television sets. One of the big matches taking place on the night was the main event, as Randy Orton and Solomon Crowe would battle it out to move on to the next round and take on either Justin Gabriel or Seth Rollins. With the main event edging closer, the cameras shifted to the announcer’s desk with Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler, as they continued to plug the main event.
JIM ROSS
Well King, the main event isn’t too far away now. Randy Orton and Solomon Crowe in the King of the Ring tournament, both men will be at the back in their locker rooms preparing for this very important match, and I can’t wait King.
JERRY LAWLER
Neither can I JR! Randy Orton has made this tournament his own, and we all know what kind of man…no…animal Solomon Crowe is and there’s no way he’s going to let Randy Orton get the better of him tonight King. If Crowe is going down – which I hope he does – then I can promise you that he’s dragging Orton down with him!
JIM ROSS
It’s going to be a great match King, that’s for sure. Before we move on to our next match, over the weekend at the EBWF Headquarters, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Solomon Crowe in a face to face interview, as we talked about Randy Orton and the King of the Ring tournament and he had some eye-opening comments to make about our defending King, here’s what went down.
The attention shifted to the titan-tron as a video package started to play, an interview which was recorded over the weekend and was airing on Warfare. The camera focused on Jim Ross who was sat on a chair with pieces of paper in his hands as he focused to the camera, within moments he started to speak.
JIM ROSS
Ladies and gentlemen, this is Jim Ross and I’m here, inside of the EBWF Headquarters with a man competing next week in the main event of Monday Night Warfare in the King of the Ring tournament, Solomon Crowe. Solomon, pleased you were able to make it hear upon our request.
Crowe was at opposite JR, a small smile on his face as he was summoned to the headquarters, mainly because he would have another platform to clarify his Randy Orton comments he made on The Crowe’s Nest which went live on the EBWF’s website just days earlier. He looked at Jr and nodded, signalling for the legend to ask whatever he needed to ask.
JIM ROSS
Well Solomon, you’ve had your first taste of the King of the Ring tournament, you defeated Luke Harper and now…you have Randy Orton. How are you able to shift gears, going from Luke Harper to the level of Randy Orton?
SOLOMON CROWE
JR, I always thought you appreciated talent the most. In my eyes, the level of Luke Harper is far higher than the level of Randy Orton. Because Luke, actually puts his body on the line on a weekly basis, whether it was in another company, back on the independent scene where he created a following, or here…in the EBWF. So I say it’s easier, for me to take it down a level, to go from Luke Harper, an evil, vindictive monster with no care for his own or anyone else’s safety, like myself, than a man I have yet to actually be in the same building with more than once, so I’m not worried.
JIM ROSS
Okay, well Randy is a massive name here, not only in this company but in the industry as a whole, surely that has to mean something to you especially after he put on a great show against Matt Jackson after being out of action for so long?
SOLOMON CROWE
…No, not really. I mean first thing’s first…I am not Matt Jackson, I am Solomon Crowe, he and I are at the opposite ends of the spectrum but I will tell you this, I am surprised, very surprised. Because, I thought Matt Jackson should have and could have won that match. I know what he and his brother are capable of, because I know how tough it was for them to get here, like it was for me, make your name in the independent scene and then fight over here to make a name for yourself over here…like I did. All I am doing is giving them a voice, and one day they will follow in my footsteps because beating Randy Orton is not just for Solomon Crowe, beating Randy Orton…is for the EBWF. But sure JR, I’ll play along with you. Of course I am impressed with Randy, in his heyday he achieved a lot of great things, turned a lot of heads. But when you’re a hand-picked superstar you are expected to do the business, THEN it’s nothing special, if somebody had a hand up my ass and controlled me like a puppet then I’d be a God in this industry, but I’m not puppet like Randy Orton is…I’m a king.
JIM ROSS
It can be argued that there are striking similarities between yourself, and a young Randy Orton. Both great athletes, both came in with a bang, young, hungry and outspoken, and…
SOLOMON CROWE
No, no, no we; WE are not the same. For one I am my own man, nobody tells me what to do or puts me under their wing and gives a lift up to the main event picture, I earned it. And I came in with a bang, not him. He was a shadow, reaping the rewards of others’ success, riding the coattails of legends before finally coming here and taking off whenever he feels like it. But I think even this company knows, this isn’t the same Randy Orton people used to rave about, is a watered-down, not as entertaining, more of a…pussy version of Randy Orton. There are no striking similarities, none that I see anyway. From my eyes, all I can see is that Randy Orton has become a family man, with priorities, to put food on their table and a roof over their head…I don’t have a family. I take care of number one, and what that shows…is that Randy Orton has a weakness, I don’t. Because you can take the food off of my plate and I’ll just take somebody else’s. You can take the roof off of my head, I’ll find somewhere else. But Solomon Crowe is someone who can turn Randy’s world upside down, make the family starve, rip the roof off of their head, and Randy will realise that this villainous persona that’s defined him for the majority of his career, it was petty.
JIM ROSS
But, regardless of your opinion of Randy, he’s a proven star, he’s done it all and more, you have to admire the fact that he’s won the King of the Ring tournament twice, and he is the favourite to make it number three.
SOLOMON CROWE
That’s aimed at all of you. The people in the EBWF, the fans of the EBWF because you’re all content with a paper King who’s never actually…there. Me? I don’t think of him as a king. Randy sitting on a throne for one day one year, and another day a second year doesn’t make him a king in my eyes. He’s taking advantage of the place he’s in right now, I can assure you this three peat nonsense will fizzle out come Monday, he can do it, and I admit that. But he cannot do it when he’s up against Solomon Crowe, that’s common knowledge; whether you want to accept it or not is completely up to you, I’ve said from the start this is my year and that I will be King, we’ll see who has the last laugh, me…or Randy Orton.
JIM ROSS
Where does this animosity come from, as far as I’m aware, the two of you have never even met face to face.
SOLOMON CROWE
You’re right, we haven’t met, which means there’s no animosity. Dolph Ziggler and AJ Styles; now THERE’S animosity. You’re trying to stir things up JR, that don’t exist. I’m just honest, when I say I will defeat Orton, I will go out and do it but everyone will still say, “oh what an upset” or “oh what a fluke” that is what drives me to succeed. Whereas he does absolutely nothing for two years but win a handful of matches in a tournament, and he’s one of the greatest of all time, the legend killer, the apex predator, the silent assassin, the viper, it goes on and on and on and I’m tired of it, it’s time to put a stop to it. If I have to silence the silent assassin for good, then I will, if I need to kill the legend killer, then I will, because nobody else will do it. It may as well be me. Plus, who knows, if it comes down to it, the next time Orton leaves, it will be the last time we see him. Then you can all thank me.
JIM ROSS
I’ve spent a lot of time with you Solomon since you arrived, and as I’ve said multiple times, I understand what you’re doing but I don’t agree with your methods. You’re a spectacular superstar, with a bright future and I’ve also said you’re the future of this business. My advice to you would be to tone it down a little, because guys like Randy Orton who were in your shoes, who were the future of this business, did the same, they went on to have families and are sure fire Hall of Famer’s, you could do with following in their footsteps.
SOLOMON CROWE
I appreciate the offer, but…no thank you. I am the future of this business, this company, the whole industry, just like Randy Orton was over a decade ago. The impact I will make…people will forget what he ever achieved especially these two King of the Ring victories because the time for politics is over JR. I’m not going to go out there on Monday to put my body on the line like I do every single week, and end up laying there in the middle of the ring and let Orton cover me, just for the sake of somebody who’s never even here just to make him look unbeatable whilst it makes me look bad whilst I work my ass off, no more politics. Maybe, you all need to open your eyes a little more, and realise that the only reason Orton has been successful in this company…well…let’s just say if I married myself into the family like he and his one-time mentor did, I’d be pulling strings too. I’m going to be the King and there’s nothing…
The video was then cut, as it was made to look like Crowe wasn’t sticking to his own script and was going off topic completely, all to piss Randy Orton off that little bit more. The cameras then went back to the announcer’s desk with Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler who reacted to the video package.
JERRY LAWLER
I don’t know about you, JR. But if that was me sat in your place I would’ve socked him one right on his smug jaw!
JIM ROSS
He did get out of line a little, King, which is why you can see he was cut off. For Solomon’s own sake and for his safety, I pray to God that Randy Orton didn’t see that interview, because we all know what he’s capable of when he’s angry,
JERRY LAWLER
They’re both angry men JR! Let’s hope they take their anger out on each other and not any of us!
As the two were talking, they were stopped in their tracks by the sound of Space Dementia by Muse hitting the PA system as the arena suddenly went dark and the negative atmosphere kicked in. Eventually Solomon Crowe appeared on the stage with the spotlight hovering over him as the loud boo’s were louder than usual thanks to the interview the EBWF Universe had just finished watching. Crowe had no reaction on his face, there was no smiling or laughing or a sick, twisted look. For once he looked normal on his way down, snatching a microphone and getting into the ring. He circled the ring for a short while before taking off his big, black vest to reveal more underhanded tactics and mind games, revealing a Randy Orton shirt as he continued to take in all of the boo’s. Numerous times he attempted to talk but was unable to, before eventually talking over the vocal fans.
SOLOMON CROWE
I just wanted to say, save your boo’s and your abuse for the end, I need you all pumped up and focused for when I finish kicking Orton’s ass, his crown is coming home with me.
He threw the microphone out of the ring, continuing to show no reaction whatsoever, not looking affected by the negative reaction. He continued to circle the ring as he waited for Randy Orton to make his way down to the ring to get the main event started.
