OOC: Only a short one this week, flew across the country over the weekend to watch the rugby, so I couldn't spend too much time on this.
Ted DiBiase was backstage at Warfare in Baltimore, Maryland. A crew member had approached him earlier and told him that he would be having a live interview in the preshow for Warfare out on the stage in front of the crowd. Ted was alone this week with no members of the Vertex with him. While Ted was backstage Renee Young stood out on the stage and addressed the crowd.
Renee Young: Welcome everyone to Warfare. We're only moments away from going live, but before we do I'd like to introduce my guest at this time, Ted DiBiase Jr.
Heroes played over the PA and the crowd booed as Ted entered onto the stage. He wore a jet black Armani suit, stylish as always as he stood next to Renee.
Renee Young: Tonight Ted you'll be representing the Vertex taking on Mankind in the opening match, what are your thoughts on that?
Ted Jr: Mankind? Of all the people in EBWF to put me up against they make me face him? He used to be a legend, falling from great heights, killing himself for the fans. He used to embody what it meant to live for the fans. But you look at him now. He can barely move, he's achieved nothing in the last 15 years and he's certainly not going to be doing anything of note in the future.
Renee Young: It looks like the other members of the Vertex aren't here, will they be with you at ringside tonight?
Ted Jr: When I heard that I was going to be wrestling in Baltimore I told the rest of the Vertex not to come here. Why should they have to subject themselves to this rotten place?
Ted's remark drew a huge chorus of boos from the crowd.
Renee Young: With the Vertex bursting onto the EBWF scene over the past few weeks, everyone has been trying to get more information about the group.
Ted Jr: Let me stop you there Renee. The Vertex represents the pinnacle in EBWF. We're bringing the future to the forefront of EBWF. What a fitting way for our men to debut by destroying the old guard of Rated RKO. You look back at some of the factions in EBWF, The Family, The Midnight Gang, Nexus, hell even The Trilogy. What's the difference between us and them? We're all a solitary unit. Miz and I are guiding Balor, Owens and O'Reilly through EBWF. We're not playing to backstage politics, we're not waiting our turn. When we have more talent than everyone else we're taking what is ours. That is what the Vertex represents. We're the guys that are going to run over EBWF.
Renee Young: You mentioned earlier that it was Balor, Owens and O'Reilly that attacked Rated RKO. Do you predict a response from the pair?
Ted Jr: Those two are sitting back licking their wounds, knowing that they were beaten by a group of young, hungry individuals. They can come back with everything they've got and we'll show them that this is the new age. The Miz and I will lead the Vertex straight to the top of EBWF, and we'll take on anyone that gets in our path whether it's Rated RKO, Dolph Ziggler or anyone else.
Renee Young: Last week Mankind was unsuccessful in defeating Hideo Itami, who is being managed by your father Ted DiBiase Senior. Do you think that Mankind wants to get some revenge after losing to a DiBiase last week?
Ted Jr: He probably thinks that I was thrilled that my father was victorious but I couldn't care less. Itami is nowhere near my level so I won't have to deal with him any time soon.
Renee Young: Any final words for Mankind?
Ted Jr: There's a reason why you haven't won a match in EBWF. It's because you're old, washed up and you've got no talent. If you thought losing to Itami last week was tough, then this week is going to be a massacre. After I'm done with you, you'll wish you retired years ago. Do you think you can even compete with me now after everything you've been through? I'm younger, faster, stronger, smarter and better than you in every way possible. I'm the longest reigning Path to Glory Champion of all time, a former World Champion and multiple Tag Team Champion. I'm also the leader of the Vertex and you're going to see that I lead by example. If I say I'm going to win, I will win. We demand excellence and that's what I show every single time when I step in that ring. So if you think you've even got a shot, you're wrong. If you think you're going to inflict pain and suffering like the Mankind of old, you're mistaken too. I'm going to embarrass you tonight and everyone will see that you're nothing more than a shell of your former self.
