Ted appeared backstage with Renee Young and he was standing by for an interview before his match with Roman Reigns, which would be opening the show. Ted would be appearing in the opening match while his partner The Miz would be appearing in the main event taking on Ryback.
Renee Young: Good evening everyone and welcome to Warfare live from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. With me at this time is Ted DiBiase who will be facing Roman Reigns in one on one competition tonight. What are your thoughts on Roman Reigns, who looks like a great up and coming prospect in EBWF?
Ted Jr: Up and coming superstar? Are you sure you're not talking about the three men that The Miz and I have taken under our wings? The three men that we have imparted our wisdom and experience upon? The only potential that Roman Reigns has is a relation to The Rock, and we all know I kicked his sorry ass out of EBWF.
Renee Young: Reigns does come from a wrestling family, it's in his blood...
Ted cut Renee off before she could continue.
Ted Jr: My brothers Mike and Brett DiBiase are wrestlers. My father is the Million Dollar man, Ted DiBiase. My grandfather was "Iron" Mike DiBiase and my grandmother was Helen Hild. Wrestling is in my family and in my blood. I have more claim to that than most people around here. Roman Reigns is going to walk into Denver and think he's going to go through me and onto bigger and better things. But just like most of the people here, and AJ Styles, he is high out of his mind.
Renee Young: Roman Reigns is a very powerful wrestler, using his size and strength to control his opponents, how are you going to combat that?
Ted Jr: I've faced big brutes before. Brains and intelligence will always defeat brawns. I can pick him apart easily. I'm one of the longest reigning champions of all time and I became that by being smart. Tonight is no different and tonight it's going to be a very clear outcome. I'm going to win and Reigns will lose. It’s as simple as that.
Renee Young: Your partner and World Champion The Miz is scheduled to face Ryback tonight, another match up where he is facing someone a lot bigger and stronger than himself. How do you think Miz will fare against Ryback?
Ted Jr: Are you serious? You think Ryback actually poses a challenge to the champ? Ryback is even dumber than Reigns and Miz will breeze past him.
Renee Young: The Vertex has made a bad impression with new GM Stone Cold, do you think he is unfairly targeting your group?
Ted Jr: Isn't it obvious? He and Sami Zayn are conspiring to steal the World title from Miz. Why else would we be competing against two brutes while Zayn has the night off? And I can almost guarantee that he will interfere and try and cost Miz the match against Ryback.
Renee Young: Do you think the entire Vertex against Sami Zayn is exactly a fair fight? Maybe Stone Cold is justified in his actions.
Ted Jr: Justified? Since day one I've had people trying to bring me down, from has beens like Orton and Edge, who we took out mind you, to the owner of this company Wes Ikeda. I've pushed through all of that to excel in this business. But you all see us as the villains where we're the heroes of this story. Sami Zayn and Stone Cold chose to fight against us, and if we have to take them out like we did to Rated RKO, we'll do it. But for tonight, I'll be taking out Reigns and Miz will walk right over Ryback. It's that simple.
Ted stormed off the interview set and out to the ring for his match against Reigns.
