Allen Jones never let any of his many relationships get in the way of his job: being a professional wrestler. So it came across as very ironic, and even irritating, when he dated someone outside of the business and it became even more of a head ache. It wasn't his current girlfriend's fault either. The blame rested solely on his own shoulders. Now, it was only a matter of time before the news hit the internet and the whole world found out. Styles began to scroll through his contact list on his iPhone. Despite being one of the world’s most famous professional wrestler, he kept a surprisingly small number of contacts on his personal phone. This was one of those rare occasions which he was actually going to dial one of them.
AJ Styles: Answer the phone mother fucker...
The phone was ringing on the other end. He was actually nervous to be calling. It hadn't been an easy couple of months lately, between him coming back to the EBWF, reestablishing his home in Atlanta, dealing with his ex-wife, and trying to smooth things over after TMZ caught wind of his latest relationship, he had little time to communicate cordially.
CM Punk: Hello?
AJ Styles: You mother fucker.
CM Punk: Hey Allen, I’m alright, by the way. Just sitting around doing a whole lot of nothing this fancy room I got.
AJ Styles: Whole lot of nothing eh? Tell me something dude, did you go to the Dinner With the Divas last night?
CM Punk: Yeah man, I was there with Jess. Why?
AJ Styles: Well, Ronda was in town for the night and that goofy girl loves Sasha Banks. So, she wanted to be apart of the event. She called her people, who called some people and ended up getting herself an invitation. I told her up front I wasn't going, lord knows I've crashed that party too many times in the past few years. Anyway, here's the thing, Ronda was all dressed up and excited like a girl on her way to her senior prom, just to get turned around at the door.
CM Punk: What?
AJ Styles: Oh, you didn't know? She said security was asked to escort her from the premises per orders of Jessica Rushing. You know? Your little girlfriend?
CM Punk: Well damn.
AJ Styles: So, Ronda comes storming in last night crying her eyes out. Toughest girl in the world. Crying. She didn't get any sleep and I didn't get any action because she says it was the most embarrassing moment of her life. Now I feel like it's all my fucking fault. What happened, man?
CM Punk: I honestly don't know what the hell happened, man. I don't think Jess has a problem with Ronda. The orders probably came form above the poor girls head. I'll make sure I find out.
AJ Styles: Maybe you're right.
CM Punk: You know, word is Wes doesn't want anything to do with the UFC, so that could've been why.
AJ Styles: I just can't help but think it was that spiteful bitch Trish using her pull with Natalya. It's been so many people talking shit about us since TMZ made our relationship public. Sure, I'm a son of a bitch, but Ronda is a great girl, she doesn't deserve all this bullshit.
CM Punk: Do you think everything was peachy when the world found out about Jess and I? Hell no. All the drama with her ex, the storyline creative made out of it to sell a pay per view, and almost killing the bastard. Just to lose her to the losers little brother. Shit happens. I wasn't perfect. We worked through everything and that's exactly what you and Ronda have to do. Don't worry about what people think. Fuck em.
AJ Styles: You're right. Fuck em.
CM Punk: Just don’t worry about that. You need to be focused on our match at Fannivesary. Let's hope they plan on putting the Intercontinental title on you, because I'm gonna be pissed if I have to drop my belt to Lance Storm. By the way, I’m having a camera crew come up before the pay per view. Sit down interview with Jim Ross. It'll just be the two of us goofing off for half an hour. Then we are suppose to stop by Nurse station for some prematch physicals.
AJ Styles: Do I gotta piss in a cup or something...
Those last words froze Styles dead in his tracks. Up to this point he had been casually pacing around his room, but the thought of urine tests sent shivers down his spine.
CM Punk: No, no drug test. But even if there was, I mean, you’ve been clean lately right?
AJ Styles: More or less, yeah.
CM Punk: More or less? What is that, tell me you’ve been clean.
AJ Styles: Yeah, I’ve been sober man. Just, a little weed, but I have a prescription. No hard drugs. No alcohol.
CM Punk: Alright then. So, we are gonna steal the show at Fannivesary right? They just might have huge plans in store for us.
AJ Styles: Yeah sure. Keep telling yourself that. Regardless, we are gonna have the match of the night.
CM Punk: Alright, awesome dude. How about you swing by this place in the next hour?
AJ Styles: I'm looking at the itinerary, Palomar Phoenix Cityscape, right? Skyline studio. Nice. How about you let me stay there instead of this dump and you go shack up with ole girl? It says here she's staying in a corner suite.
CM Punk: Maybe I just wanna do a whole lot of nothing in my own room.
They continued talking and planning out their evening. This was only the beginning of something big, much bigger than the two and their girl problems. This was the beginning of the best alliance in the world. The entire wrestling industry was about to be shaken at its foundation, they just didn't know it yet.

Jim Ross: Here with me at this time is two of the most controversial figures in EBWF history. Former World Champions, AJ Styles and current EBWF Path to Glory Champion CM Punk.
The legendary ring announcer Jim Ross announced them to the audience in his familiar, southern voice. They were seated across from him in a hotel suite.
AJ Styles: Don't you always get attacked during these interviews?
Ross glanced back at the four security guards that stood at the door. He was well aware of this fact.
CM Punk: Well, that's boring.
Ross appeared to be somewhat relieved.
Jim Ross: Well, my first question is for you, AJ. If you have an issue with another competitor, why do you always feel the need to turn everything into a very personal issue?
Styles didn't seem fully committed to responding.
AJ Styles: Why don't I ever get asked anything cool? Like, what's my favorite beer? Who's my favorite EBWF Diva? Would I smash or pass? Why don't you ask me what Ronda Rousey wears to bed? It's probably going to be worthy of a date with your hand. But, you're kinda old, JR.
Punk chimed in..
CM Punk: Good thing they have pills for that..
It was obvious the two weren't taking the interview very seriously.
Jim Ross: Well let's just cut straight to the chase and talk about your No Holds Barred Tag Team match at Fannivesary where you two face the well established duo of Chris Jericho and Lance Storm.
CM Punk: So well established that they rarely go on the road, they rarely work house shows, and basically rarely do anything, Jim. If you ask me, Jericho brought his dear old friend back to fight his midlife crisis... to battle the fact he has not done absolutely ANYTHING memorable since 2009, when he owned this company with FedEx... Oh how the mighty have fallen.
AJ Styles: Meanwhile, the two of us have been racking up World Championships, main-eventing WrestleManias and headlining events all around the world.
CM Punk: This is, as I had stated before: two men trying yo hopelessly claw away from their midlife crisis, failing to see their time is over, they are over the hill, the saddest part is there is no torch to pass on... They had dropped it a couple of years ago... They are the past, we are the present and the future of this industry... I don't think you can ask much more questions about it, JR. But be my guest... Go ahead.
Jim Ross: Punk, your issues with Chris Jericho date back over the years, but more recently stems from around three months back when you challenged him for his newly won Intercontinental Championship. You didn't manage to defeat him, but you did manage to win another Championship in the process. So why continue to go after him if you have nothing to gain and everything to lose?
Punk turned to Styles and shook his head.
CM Punk: I told you we should've got Byron Saxton to interview us... Jim, is this dementia or selective memory I sense? Jericho not only defeated me three months ago, he took me out, he took advantage of my moment of weakness and attempted to end my career... Back then I had nothing to gain and everything to lose... I was down in the dumps, but as usual I picked myself up and here I am, Path to Glory Champion. Why continue to go after Jericho? You could say I have not stopped going after him, I just got a little sidetracked on my journey to revenge. Now, during that sidetracking, I ran into a very unlikely, yet powerful ally, the man sitting next to me. You see, we both might look like the opposite sides of a coin... Our recent alliance has left many scratching their heads... But rest assured, as different as we are... we share one same vision of everything wrong with EBWF, and we decided to embark on a journey to right every wrong in the EBWF universe... Our first stop, Chris Jericho.
AJ Styles: They've been so comfortable in the world they've been living in for all these years, but we are about to take that from them and there is nothing either of them are going to be able to do about it. They are going to realize how they failed as a team, how Jericho failed as the Intercontinental Champion, just like Lance failed as World Champion and just like he failed as The EBWF CEO.
Styles paused for only a moment.
AJ Styles: Chris Jericho is only fighting for a title. Lance Storm is fighting for his freaking cat. We are here fighting to bring back legitimacy to this business. When we beat those bastards down a few weeks ago and sent that loser Trent to the ER of course we wanted them weak for our match. The shit with the cat was just to mess with their minds. We've taken care of the mental and the physical. We've been planning this out since day one and it's come together so perfectly. Not only does Punk get the revenge he wants, I get the Intercontinental championship, and together we finally put the nail in the coffin and bury the pathetic act they call the Thrillseekers, once and for all.
Jim Ross: It seems to me the least important thing about this match up is the Intercontinental title...
CM Punk: Well, that is the prestige Chris Jericho has given the belt in his short lived reign. As AJ just said... We will not stop, we will not rest until the Intercontinental title is restored back to its former glory. Jim, you have absolutely no idea... About what we have in store for the EBWF... It all begins tonight.
AJ Styles: Everyone knows Jericho and Storm aren't going to be able to stop us. I mean, honestly, it's pretty stupid to think that these two are really going to be the heroes that swing things back in the favor of this. They aren't. It's a lost cause. The name "Thrillseekers" doesn't mean anything anymore. In Chris Jericho's entire EBWF career he's never came close to doing anything on our level and after tonight he is finally gonna go out like a real rockstar.
CM Punk: Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Chris Jericho... It just fits in perfect with those wastes of life.
Jim Ross: You have to acknowledge what The Thrillseekers have done for EBWF, for tag team wrestling! Years ago they were on a similar crusade as you two...
CM Punk: Similar? There is nothing similar... who would name themselves fucking FedEx Anyway? Who would have agreed to make a parody of their "top" Superstars? Did you ever see Bruno Sammartino clown around? Bob Backlund, Owen Hart! They came to the ring, did their job and left... They didn't travel with their freaking cats for God's sake!
Styles very swiftly rose from his seat and took a hold of J.R's Oklahoma University t-shirt tightly in his fingers. Ross tried to remain calm as his face was brought closer to AJ's.
AJ Styles: You dare comparing us to them?
CM Punk: Don't waste your energy on him, AJ... Abusing JR gets old after a while. Let me get out of my chest... I don't hate Chris Jericho... I just can't cope with this 'idea' of him that he is the best... I hate the idea that he does nothing and gets to parade with a title draped over his shoulder! Because according to you, he's done already a lot for this company... You see, that kind of mediocre thinking is what keeps half accomplished morons like Storm and Jericho above hard working guys like AJ and myself. Don't get me wrong... There will always be time for nostalgia, I'm sure Chris and Lance will always have gyms across the nation to celebrate the beginning of their insignificant careers... But when we learned that they were going to do their little party in a FREAKING PAY PER VIEW! That was the last straw Jim... That Intercontinental title should have been defended against a capable, worthy opponent! Luckily, that was when AJ and I found we were on the same page... We knew what we had to do, we knew Jericho deserved what was coming to him, we knew Lance Storm and Trent deserved to be punished as well, brought to their knees and demolished physically and mentally. And I cannot stress this enough.... This is only the beginning, the beginning of a new era, the renaissance, the reinvention of wrestling as we know it. People coming out here, doing their job, destroying each other for the maximum prize in the industry... No Twitter, no stupid dinner with the divas, no Fan Axxess, no stupid merchandise... None of that! Just wrestling, hurting people between the ropes to be on top of the world... to be the Best in the world!
AJ Stood over JR, who had his eyes fixed on him.
AJ Styles: We would love to stick around for more of your pointless, stupid questions, but we have a job to get done...
With that said, Styles smirked, he turned around and began walking out of the room, it didn't take Punk long to follow behind him as the scene faded to black.
