Work

EBWF.net Exclusive

The camera faded into Snap Fitness Center in Lafayette. The image zoomed in and focused on a woman who was crouched over, sitting at the edge of a free weight bench. a tendril of blonde hair, infused with pink spilled out of her ponytail as she lifted a dumbbell up to shoulder level, and slowly lowered it back down. She was wearing a pink and black training tank top, and black tights. Her arms glistened lightly with sweat. She looked up at the camera that was pointed at her. A smirk slowly crept up on her lips.

Natalya: A good "in-ring worker".

She chuckled dryly as her eyes rolled into the back of her head.

Natalya: That's what I heard AJ Lee call herself last week, when she was prattling on with her mall goth friend, Paige. I find that personally hilarious. I've watched AJ Lee's career since she first started in this company. There was a time when she was a good "worker", but I saw the way Trish Stratus dismantled her, piece by piece. Not to mention there's one important point that I don't think she understands.

She looked at the camera, an unimpressed look of disgust on her features.

Natalya: AJ, you might have been a good worker at one point, but beyond the three minutes you spend in the ring losing to champions like Trish, your life is a waste, and you've not worked for a thing in your pathetic existence. I'm not even sure I can qualify what you do in the ring as wrestling. Is it some weird, ineffective, bendy attempt at yoga? How have you not been snapped like a toothpick at this point?

Natalya huffed, a frustrated look on her face.

Natalya: I've been around for a while, I'll grant you that. You can talk about the fact that I've been in this business a long time. I've fought against girls like Velvet Sky and Angelina Love, or Eva Marie and Summer Rae, because they represented the destruction of the Women's Division as I knew it. You know what? They don't hold a candle to how offensive it is that you still have a job. Velvet Sky and Angelina Love turned out to be pretty damned good wrestlers, and at least Eva Marie and Summer Rae are entertaining. You? You're a 13 year old boy in short-shorts. You have the same entertainment value as Michael Cole talking about what's trending on Twitter.

She smiled as she picked the dumbbell back up.

Natalya: When I'm not in the ring, I'm working. When I'm out there in the world, promoting this company and the EBWF brand, I'm working. I work harder than nearly any other woman in the EBWF. So you can call me washed up, or yesterday's news. The fact that you might even be remotely important at this point in your career is because women like me, women like Trish Stratus, and yes even women like Velvet Sky and Angelina Love paved the way for your mediocrity. They allowed you to do...

Natalya waved a gesture towards the character with a look of indignance.

Natalya: Whatever it is you call that stuff you do in the ring. What I'm going to do is go out there tonight, and I'm going to work. I'm going to work my ass off, like I do every single time I'm in the squared circle. I don't care if people call me a good "in-ring worker" or not. What I do is I make people hurt. I twist them into a pretzel and make them tap out, tears streaming down their face. That same fate awaits you, AJ. Good as you think you are, you will never be the WRESTLER that the Iron Maiden is.

Nattie shook her head with a smirk.

Natalya: See you at work, sweetie.

She went back to lifting weights, and curling them up to her shoulders as the scene faded.
