• Wake up

A bare bulb hangs overhead, rocking back and forth. The size of the room is unknown as once again we are treated to nothing more than a hand held camcorder. It sways back and forth a bit, the picture fuzzy and a bit distorted, no doubt a sign of all the abuse it has gone through at the hands of none other than Mankind. His voice can be heard near the camera.

“Reality... You can talk about the reality of the situation. You can talk about the reality of our match here tonight, but DON'T for one second claim that you know ANYTHING about reality. You've proven your ignorance already with all the crap you've had to say to me.”

He chuckles, the camera sways and he comes into a corner of the frame.

“AJ, you know nothing about me, nothing about what I have been doing here in the EBWF, nothing about my intentions on the future, in short, you really know NOTHING! Each and every person I have stepped into the ring with has told me that I'm too old, too out of shape, too... whatever... to be competing in the ring and week after week I prove them wrong. You want to go down the same road as ALL those others have before you, fine, preach the same old things, you'll fall just like all the others.”

The camera spins around as Mankind lets out a cackle.

“You need to come back into the real world with the rest of us AJ. You think my biggest ambition was to be Breakout Champion? Where have you BEEN?! I've done nothing but run down this joke of a belt the entire time. I've told them all what a waste it is, how I sought bigger and better things and yet here I am, stuck as the Breakout Champion. But this is not where my story ends. All this will be is a minor little cliff note in the history of me in this company. YOU are throwing around your ignorance so freely, it is going to be nothing short of a PURE pleasure to kick your ass tonight and leave you laying there wondering what the hell happened!”

Another loud laugh echos through the room. The camera pivots, framing the face of Mankind who grins viciously into the lens.

“I've been hardcore before you ever laced up your first pair of boots, but I am not here for my past, I am here for my future and my future is to run right through you on my way to the tippy top of this company. You don't think I can stop you? Better men than you have made that claim and I continue to put them all down. But the fun part... the REALLY, really, FUN part?! I'm not going into that ring and beating you down to deliver you a message from anyone else in this company. OOOOOoooh no... I get to do it all for myself. Because THAT'S what a monster is all about and THAT'S what you've got to look forward to. And AJ... I WILL have... a nice day.”

He lets out another cackling laugh as the scene fades out.
