Latest updates on rumoured EBWF departure

In one of the more surprising WrestleMania announcements over the past week, it was revealed that Sami Zayn would battle Solomon Crowe in a Falls Count Anywhere match with the loser of the match supposedly leaving the company. By no means has a departure been confirmed as of this writing and it looks like the EBWF could be keeping their cards close to their chest - if anything is going to come of this storyline.

The EBWF fans that attended Axxess are said to have asked the duo about their future plans, both remaining coy on what WrestleMania will bring tomorrow night at the AT&T Stadium and told them to tune into the event, which is what you'd expect. The latest rumours backstage are that both men stand in a good place with the company and aren't receiving any backstage heat with the Ikeda's or any other superstar or diva backstage. The potential departure came as a big surprise considering both men have enjoyed a great year in the EBWF and are involved in their second prominent WrestleMania match since joining the company in 2014.

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer highlighted the current situation in the Wrestling Observer Radio released today, explaining who he believes could be on his way out.

He said: "I think both guys are happy that they're getting time to put on a solid match at WrestleMania, it's Falls Count Anywhere so it obviously won't end in 10 minutes or something. I honestly can't imagine why either man would want to leave the company right now; there's more competition now to put on some great matches. I know the matches I want to see are Zayn battling Kevin Owens and Shinsuke Nakamura and there's a lot of potential in both guys as well.

"They're both former World Champions, I believe the company is still high on both superstars, but if somebody did give their notice in then, they did well to keep it really quiet up until now. From what I hear, both guys were enjoying the festivities that Axxess brought, maybe because it could be their last or something, I'm not so sure. Sources haven't been able to dig up anything on this either; perhaps tomorrow we may find out a little bit more information and no other promotions have booked either man yet. I think once we hear promotions like ROH or anyone announce something; we won't know for sure.

"It's good for fans; it adds more excitement to the match. At first, I thought there could be an inconclusive finish where both men end up staying, but I think that's too risky to have at a show like WrestleMania because now fans are paying to see one guy leave. They haven't showed any indication that one of them is leaving, you could say with Sami Zayn not being vocal on social media anyway it could be him as it's an easy way out without having to say anything.

"I don't want to be the one to stir anything up; I could be wrong. I think we should sit back and enjoy the match which should be a good one, my gut instinct tells me that it'll be Crowe who has given in his notice, his stock has fallen since his huge impact at Survivor Series. Personally, I can just see Sami's face on posters for upcoming pay-per-views in my head, and he's close to becoming a top contender for the EBWF World Championship, it'd be a stupid time to call it quits. For Crowe, in my head, I can't see him promoted or pushed anytime soon."

We'll keep you updated on this situation as the story progresses heading into WrestleMania.
