“Trish! Trish over here! Trish”
*Flash*
“To your left! To your left. That’s good, right here!”
*Flash*
Trish felt the arm around her, tighten it’s grip. She was nervous. He knew it.
“Chris, this way! This side, that’s it!”
*Flash*
Jericho tried to shuffle Trish closer to the entrance way of The Church nightclub. It had been a very long day already, with both of them having signed autographs for seven hours during the fan access events. Now it was one of the premiere events of the week, so exclusive that the only people who were invited were the women who worked for EBWF, ticketed fans, and of course the press. Nothing started more rumors than this event, because the EBWF Superstars that were in attendance were guests of the Divas. Trish and Chris didn’t need to worry about any of that. They had attended this event together in the past, and had been asked to do it again this year for the sake of “optics”. And based on the press and fan reaction those optics were on full display, with Chris looking dapper in a pinstripe suit and Trish’s sparkly dress flawlessly matching his tie. Each of them wore their titles around their waists as they posed. Then in the same blur in which it had start it was over.

“Wes, Natalie, over here!”
Chris Jericho: And that’s over…
Indeed, it was much easier for them to head into the nightclub, which was already full of fans and other EBWF staff and superstars.
Chris Jericho: Jess is already here, did you want to come sit with us?
Trish Stratus: I think I’m going to go see Torrie, but I’ll be back around later. Thanks, as always, I really appreciate it.
He hugged her, and went on his way. She turned to make her way over to the bar, and she found her eyes locked with someone else’s. This happened sometimes, but they never spoke. Not ever. And just as though he’d been a whisper, Adam Copeland moved swiftly to the other side of the room, leaving Trish to fall right into her own rumor trap. Who was his date?
Yet another red carpet event, though this carpet was actually green. The EBWF Slammy Award arrivals were in full swing, and Trish was wearing yet another gown as her picture was snapped. As was customary, she was stopped on her way to the arena entrance by a member of the EBWF interview team.
Matt Striker: Welcome to this EBWF.net exclusive! I’m Matt Striker, and here with me tonight is the lovely, talented, EBWF Women’s Champion, Trish Stratus. Trish, you look amazing tonight.
Trish Stratus: Thanks Matt. Amazing weekend, huh?
Matt Striker: It is. How are you enjoying it so far?
Trish Stratus: It doesn’t matter how many years I’ve been around for this. It’s absolutely amazing. Year after year it just gets better and better. There is nothing like the Wrestlemania atmosphere for Wrestlemania for fans of our industry.
Matt Striker: What would it mean to you to be the Women’s Wrestler of the Year tonight?
Trish Stratus: With Sasha and Velvet in that category it’s impossible to know who will walk away tonight. I work with an incredible group of women, and I am very excited that we have four of the twelve matches scheduled tomorrow night. We’ve come a very long way in the last fifteen years. I’m proud to work in the best women’s division in the industry. It would be a fantastic honor to be the Female Wrestler of the Year tonight, but I certainly don’t think that I deserve it over the other fantastic women who are nominate.
Matt Striker: I couldn’t help but notice that you left Alexa out of all of that praising.
Trish Stratus: Look, Matt. I’m really happy for Alexa, but the truth is, she’s been here for what? All of five minutes? It’s true that since she arrived in February, she’s definitely done what she can to keep her name on the lips of EBWF Fans the world over, but I don’t think 8 weeks of hard work a Wrestler of the Year makes. And I also don’t think that this little distraction with The Mean Girls is serving her very well either.
Matt Striker: So you don’t think she can beat you tomorrow night?
Trish Stratus: Rightly or wrongly, that’s my go to answer for any match I have, and a great majority of the time, I’m correct. Beating Trish Stratus is a really hard thing to do. Ask any of the fans standing behind that guardrail tonight who the ultimate Diva in EBWF is, and I challenge any one that doesn’t say Trish Stratus. I think Alexa’s days are numbered. It wouldn’t surprise me if I beat her tomorrow night and she fades into obscurity. Every time I step into hat ring, I get better and better. I’m destined to continue to hold onto this title, in fact, I hope to break my own record.
Matt Striker: You’re saying you intend to be the EBWF Women’s Champion for even longer than your 274 day record?
Trish Stratus: I intend to be defending this championship at Wrestlemania 16. No matter what goes down tonight I know that I am currently the best female wrestler in EBWF. I have the Women’s Championship to show for it. There was a time last year that I wasn’t even sure I was going to continue in this business, and now that I’m back on top the heap, I promise that I will continue to put on the best show. I’m going to take every opportunity out from under Alexa and all of the others like her, because they think I’ve been running this place too long. They think Trish Stratus is yesterday’s news.
Matt Striker: So you think Alexa is taking you lightly?
Matt Striker: Do you think so?
Trish Stratus: Maybe. Having only been in EBWF for two months, does Alexa Bliss’s name really seem synonymous with “Premiere Wrestlemania Event Matchup”? I’ve spent the last year proving to the world that Trish Stratus is still the Quintessential Diva. It might be the ice girl thing to say, but in this business, I’m the star, and I let everyone else have a career here. That’s everyone on the list from Sasha Banks all the way on down the line to our favorite little Women’s Rumble winner. The whole point of winning the rumble is to get the attention of the champion, and in my opinion, Alexa hasn’t even done anything to deserve to be listening to the words of the most successful woman to ever grace an EBWF ring. Alexa got a taste of it, but she doesn’t know anything about how to consistently deliver here. Between hanging out with her little no name girlfriends, and fending off The Mean Girls, it seems like Alexa has forgotten to… I dunno, actually prepare for this match. I’ll be out there tomorrow night, doing what i do best, and I hope Alexa has been doing her homework so we can put on one hell of a show, where she falls just short and I remain the EBWF Women’s Champion.
Matt Striker: Thanks so much for the interview, Trish.
Trish thanked Matt and continued toward the entrance, stopping to sign autographs and take photos with fans along the way. She felt confident, and she knew that whether it was a slammy or the championship, win or lose, she knew it was this confidence that kept her coming back for more year after year.
