Matt walks out of the locker room area showered and in his civilian clothes of a black sleeveless t shirt with a white and red physics symbol on the center, black jeans and black, white and red sneakers. His hair is still styled in the modern bowl cut, sides shaven complete with a man bun. He walks up to the newly put up match card on the wall and sees himself in the second to last match with Sami Zayn. He smiles instantly, super excited.
“ Sweet!” Matt chirps aloud, his night is brightened by the news.

"EBWF has been amazing!" Matt thinks to himself. Granted he’s an optimist but just who he has gotten to work with since he’s arrived is just plain awesome. Nakamura, AJ Styles, Carlito, Bully Ray and now another close colleague Sami Zayn!

Matt is joined by Renee Young and the usual camera crew.

Young: Hey Matt Sydal, you look happy. I’m assuming you just read this week’s match card?
Matt nods still grinning.

Reborn: Yep. I’m facing Sami Zayn. I’m excited because I don’t know how cards are figured out, I lost but now I’m facing Sami in the second to last match, does the card placement mean anything here or is it just random. It is very rewarding if it means something because it means EBWF sees something in me. I have won, I have lost but I don’t think it is all based off of that, it is what you do in the match, how your performance goes. I am only upset by my matches if I feel I didn’t give it my all, I’m very critical of myself but it’s not a win/loss thing, did I hit all my moves right, because I’d rather lose and put on a great match where I’m firing on all cylinders and every move I perform is flawless rather than win but botch something.
Surely, I’m competitive but I’m more about performance and that’s why I lost tonight, focused on the technique not the victory.

Young: Is that frustrating?

Reborn: Of course but not to sound corny, Sami knows this himself as well that it is the adventure, the climb, the journey that makes it all worth it in the end. Those who get success quicker than those who strive for it, they fade in the long haul because once the going gets tough for them and they eventually face adversity they can be like “ Oh, I already made it big, I already succeeded. I can just rest here.”
That is when a competitor like me or Sami come up and knock off their pedestal with years and years of climbing, the victory is much sweeter and you savor it.

Young; Tell us more about Sami Zayn, from your perspective.

Reborn: Good guy, nice guy but he's no push-over in the least, he's driven and super competitive.
We are going to outshine the rest of the card, Nakamura and AJ Styles will have to watch out,
because it's not like our match could be better, it WILL be better and that's a testament to
Sami Zayn.
