MATCH ONE

“I spit in the face of people who don’t want to be cool!” The Breakout Champion Carlito casually strolled down the ramp, apple in hand as always.

Joey Styles: The resurgence of Carlito has been a huge topic of discussion this year, Corey.

Corey Graves: I think it is safe to say he is having the best run of his career, Joey, and for all his time in the industry he is a deceptively young man, so winning the King of the Ring tournament would be just one more step in building his legacy.

The walking bassline of “Basket Case” called out Matt Sydal to a huge pop. He slapped hands with fans and slid into the ring.

Joey Styles: Meanwhile, Matt Sydal has been impressing in the ring every week, but is still looking for that breakthrough victory.

Corey Graves: How sweet would it be for the ReBourne one to advance in this tournament by knocking out his rival Carlito?

DING DING!

Sydal immediately went at Carlito with stiff leg kicks, dodging Carlito’s attempts to retaliate and hitting more kicks, finishing with a roundhouse to the gut. He hit the ropes and slid under Carlito’s legs, nailing him with a jumping knee as he turned around. Carlito swung wildly, Sydal ducked and countered into a crucifix pin for two. Carlito popped up to his feet and tried to stomp Sydal, who rolled out of the way and stacked Carlito into a schoolboy for two. On rising, Sydal jumped onto Carlito’s shoulders, delivering a hurricanrana and cradling the legs for another two count. Carlito rolled out of the ring.

Corey Graves: Aggressive start from Matt Sydal! He came into this match with a purpose!

Joey Styles: Carlito should know by now that he cannot take Sydal lightly.

Sydal reached over the ropes to grab Carlito by the hair and pull him onto the apron. Carlito snapped Matt’s neck on the top rope and hopped back onto the floor to pull him out by the legs. He whipped Sydal into the ring steps.

Corey Graves: He has decided to take your advice, Joey, and now that mean streak is coming out.

Carlito slammed Sydal’s head against the ring post and rolled him back into the ring. He tried to set up Sydal for a suplex, but Sydal fought out. Sydal threw a roundhouse kick that Carlito ducked.

Joey Styles: Backstabber! The Breakout Champion striking out of nowhere!

Corey Graves: He makes the cover, it’s over!

1!

2!

2.9!

Joey Styles: Sydal kicks out!

Corey Graves: That’s the underdog spirit that this crowd loves about him, Joe.

Carlito, incensed at the nearfall, mounted Sydal with hard right hands to the boos of the crowd. The referee pulled him off and he turned to stomping instead. He lifted the wobbly form of Sydal off the mat and hit another Backstabber.

Joey Styles: A sickening display from the second-generation star!

Corey Graves: But effective, Joey, that’s good for the one, the two, and the three.

DING DING!

Christy Hemme: Here is your winner, CAAARLITO!

Corey Graves: And with that, the Breakout Champion moves forward in this tournament and established himself as a real threat.

Joey Styles: But who will he face next? We will find out later on, here tonight!

SEGMENT

Warfare returned from commercial break to the music playing through the arena to mainly boo’s from the crowd. The Mean Girls, Eva Marie, Summer Rae and Sasha Banks all stepped out onto the stage. Eva took the center with either diva’s tag champion on each side, and did their signature snap in unison before heading to the ring, mouthing off the entire way. The Mean Girls circled the ring to the announce tables where they were handed microphones. Summer snatched hers away from Christy Hemme while Sasha flipped a blinged out hand to Corey Graves and Joey Styles.

Joey Styles: The Mean Girls certainly living up to their name, no doubt.

Corey Graves: They definitely aren’t welcome here, whether they think they are or not. Listen to the people, Joey. They’ll tell you all you need to know.

Eva flipped her hair indifferently as she also walked past. The three entered the ring together and went straight for the middle to soak up the spotlight. Sasha stood in the middle with Eva to the left and Summer on the right. They waited a few moments to let the crowd continue to boo them, and even called for me.

Summer Rae: That’s right, keep’em coming.

Eva Marie: We love that you hate us.

Sasha Banks: You know what they say, they hate us ‘cuz they ain’t us.

The comments brought even more heat and called for high fives between the women before they continued.

Summer Rae: You know, everyone’s had soooo much to say lately about the Mean Girls.

Sasha Banks: That’s nothing new though. People are always talking about us boo.

Eva Marie: Because there is literally nothing else to talk about. Look at you two, new diva’s tag team champions.

Summer Rae: You mean… We’re STILL the team to be around here? No surprise there.

Sasha Banks: Like Beyonce said.. Ya’ll haters corny with that “Mean Girls gonna break up mess”. Beautiful Dangerous is no more.

Eva Marie: I can’t even remember the other teams here, if there are any.

Summer Rae: We’re unbreakable, people. So how about you sit down and shut up and listen to what we have to say you twerps! Nothing can stop us. The Mean Girls are pretty much a household name now. It was only a matter of time before we got back what was rightfully ours. And now that we have it, there’s no way we’re letting it get snatched again.

Sasha Banks: And you can bank on that… Who do we look like?

Summer and Sasha turned to Eva Marie, asking her the question. She just shrugged.

Eva Marie: I don’t know… Queens?

Summer nodded.

Summer Rae: True, babe. We are on top of this division right now. No one’s gonna stop us. And pretty soon one of us will get the women’s championship after we steal Queen of the Ring.

Sasha Banks: I’m kind of wondering… Who could we scalp next? Because it doesn’t seem like there’s anyone left. I mean, we already took care of Trish and Natty by snatching these titles…

Eva Marie: They basically gave them to us, but who cares. Details don’t matter.

Summer Rae: Well, there’s still Bayley?

The crowd cheered at mention of her name.

Sasha Banks: Bayley is boo boo and she has no friends. So scratch that. What about Torrie and Stacy?

After booing over the diss for Bayley, the cheers picked up again but were drowned out by laughs and even a cackle from the Mean Girls.

Sasha Banks: Tuh. Why did I even ask?

Eva Marie: Maybe AJ Lee and Pai--ughh.

Eva covered her mouth and Summer and Sasha looked concerned with one arm clinging to their titles and the other barely reaching out to Eva.

Summer Rae: Umm, are you okay?

Eva fanned herself.

Eva Marie: Yeah sorry, it’s just, I can’t.

Sasha Banks: Can’t what?

Eva Marie: It’s like I can’t even say it. AJ Lee and Pai--

She covered her mouth again and made it look like she wanted to vomit.

Summer Rae: It’s ok Eva, don’t hurt yourself.

Sasha Banks: No one even knows they exist anymore anyway. Velvet ain’t dumb enough to try us on her own, even if she looks like it. I guess there really ain’t nobody else.

Summer Rae: What a bummer, huh?

The crowd cheered and the Mean Girls looked pleased and nodded their heads in agreement. But the crowd wasn’t cheering for them.

Corey Graves: Looks like someone’s here to crash the party, finally.

Joey Styles: The Mean Girls forgot some people and they’re here to let them know!

Zahra Schreiber, Gionna Daddio and EBWF Women’s champion Alexa Bliss slid into the ring much to the surprise of the Mean Girls. Zahra and Gionna took down Summer and Sasha and while Alexa charged up Eva, who ducked the women’s title Bliss was aiming straight for her forehead. Eva managed to pull Zahra off of Summer while Sasha rolled out from Gionna. An all out brawl was in play as Alexa grabbed Eva from behind by the hair and yanked her away from Zahra. Summer took Zahra down and started raining down slaps and punches as Sasha got to her feet. She grabbed one of the tag titles and clocked Gionna with it while she stumbled trying to quickly get to her feet. With one down, Sasha rushed into Alexa and grabbed her by the hair to try and pull her off Eva Marie. Eva broke free from Bliss and kicked her in the gut before helping Banks throw her out of the ring. Zahra had managed to roll out from under Summer to the outside. She went to the apron closest to Gionna who was still out of it, pulling her out to safety just in time as all three Mean Girls ran towards her. Bliss has managed to swipe the women’s title off the mat before rounding the ring to meet her team at the bottom of the ramp. All three began to back-peddle up the ramp, with Alexa and Zahra checking to make sure Gionna was alright.

Joey Styles: The Mean Girls asserting their dominance this go round. It’s left the Moonlight Dollz shellshocked.

Corey Graves: This doesn’t look good for Gionna, I wonder how she’ll survive her match tonight.

The crowd continued booing loudly as the camera continued between shots of the Mean Girls in the ring and the Moonlight Dollz heading backstage in a stare down.

MATCH TWO

As Warfare returned from a commercial break, "Hey Sandy" by Polaris hit and the crowd gave a mixed reaction as Chuck Taylor made his way to the ring for the next match.

Joey Styles: Welcome back! Up next, we've got Chuck Taylor making his EBWF debut as he takes on Shinsuke Nakamura!

Corey Graves: Taylor has a lot of experience on the independent scene, but how will he fare against the King of Strong Style? This is sure to be an interesting matchup, Joey!

Taylor looked excited as he headed to the ring. Once he was in the ring, "Subconscious Entry Version" by Julia Claris hit and the crowd cheered as Shinsuke Nakamura stepped out onto the stage. Nakamura had his usual swagger as he made his way down the ramp. Upon entering the ring, Nakamura nodded respectfully at his opponent, who grinned at him. The two men shook hands as the referee called for the bell.

Joey Styles: What a great display of sportsmanship!

Corey Graves: Let's see how long that lasts, Joey... these two men both want to be King of the Ring!

Taylor and Nakamura locked up, and Nakamura applied a hammerlock on Taylor. Taylor broke out of it, then whipped Nakamura against the ropes. As Nakamura ran back towards him, Taylor hit the King of Strong Style with a dropkick. Both men got to their feet, and Taylor took Nakamura down with an arm drag, then stomped on him several times. He pulled Nakamura to his feet, and whipped him into the corner. Taylor ran at Nakamura, going for a corner elbow smash, but Nakamura got his foot up and hit Taylor with a boot to the face. Taylor staggered backwards, and Nakamura moved out of the corner, hitting Taylor with a knee to the midsection. Nakamura followed this up with a knee smash, then as Taylor fell to the mat, Nakamura hit him with a knee drop.

Corey Graves: Nakamura using those knees with devastating effect!

Nakamura hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... kickout! The Japanese superstar pulled Taylor to his feet and set him up for a double underhook piledriver, but Taylor blocked it, countering with a back body drop. Nakamura got to his feet and Taylor hit an overhead belly-to-belly suplex, followed by a kip up. The Kentucky Gentleman then ran towards the ropes, hitting Nakamura with a springboard moonsault!

Joey Styles: Great athleticism by Chuck Taylor!

Taylor covered Nakamura and the referee counted – 1... 2... kickout! Taylor looked disappointed at only getting a two count. He went to apply a single leg Boston crab on Nakamura, but Nakamura kicked him away and got to his feet. Nakamura hit Taylor with a series of chops to the chest, then whipped him against the ropes. As Taylor hit the ropes and ran back towards Nakamura, Nakamura took him down with a lariat. Taylor got to his feet, and Nakamura lifted him over his shoulders, carrying him towards the corner and placing him on the ropes. Nakamura rolled backwards, then ran at Taylor and hit him with a high knee to the midsection. The King of Strong Style followed it up with an inverted powerslam, then signalled for the Boma Ye!

Corey Graves: Boma Ye coming up... this could be it right here!

Nakamura ran at Taylor... but Taylor ducked out of the way! He grabbed Nakamura from behind, hitting a strait jacket double knee backbreaker.

Joey Styles: What a counter! Chuck Taylor has regained the momentum in this match!

Taylor ran against the ropes and hit Nakamura with an elbow drop, then as Nakamura got to his feet, Taylor set him up for a leg-hook belly-to-back suplex. Taylor lifted Nakamura up, hitting a piledriver!

Corey Graves: Awful Waffle! Chuck Taylor might have just pulled off a huge upset!

Taylor hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... 3! The referee called for the bell and raised Taylor's arm in victory. Even Taylor looked a little surprised as he celebrated his win.

Joey Styles: What a match, and what a huge win for Chuck Taylor on his EBWF debut!

MATCH THREE

Joey Styles: Still to come, we've got Alex Shelley making his EBWF return in our main event, as he takes on Sami Zayn. Up first though, women's action as Velvet Sky takes on Gionna Daddio!

Gionna came to the ring first, followed by Velvet. When both women were in the ring, the referee called for the bell and the two women locked up. Velvet hit a snapmare, then hit a shoot kick to the back of Gionna's head. She pulled Gionna to her feet and whipped her against the ropes, before taking her down with a shoulder block. Velvet continued to dominate Gionna, and after hitting a vertical suplex, she hooked the leg. The referee counted – 1... 2... kickout!

Corey Graves: A strong start by Velvet Sky!

Velvet pulled Gionna to her feet, and set her up for a Russian legsweep, but Gionna blocked it and took Velvet down with a bulldog. Velvet got to her feet and Gionna applied a guillotine choke, which she transitioned into a DDT. She hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... kickout! Gionna pulled Velvet to her feet and whipped her into the corner, then ran at her, going for a corner clothesline. Velvet moved out of the way, causing Gionna to collide with the turnbuckles! She then grabbed Gionna from behind, slamming her head against the top turnbuckle, before turning her around and hitting the Beauty-T! She hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... 3!

Joey Styles: It's over! Velvet Sky advances!

Velvet celebrated as Warfare went to a commercial break.

MATCH FOUR

After Christy Hemme made the match introductions and both of the wrestlers made their entrances, the bell rang. Zayn and Shelley stood near the corners for a few moments as the crowd cheered, before slowly circling the ring then meeting in the middle to lock up. Shelley overpowered Zayn and pushed him into the corner, where the referee had to separate them as Shelley threw an elbow under Sami’s chin to pin him against the turnbuckle. After the referee separated them, Zayn locked Shelley in a grapple from behind and attempted a headlock, which was countered into an armbar by Shelley. Zayn broke free, reversing into an armbar of his own. The two tried to one-up each other, shifting control between armbars until Shelley exploded with an armbar flip into a submission on the mat, wrenching Zayn’s arm at the shoulder. Zayn made it to his feet and went to whip Shelley to the ropes, but it was reversed and Sami was sent to the ropes and hit with a dropkick. Shelley went for the pin. 1…...2….. Kickout.

Shelley wasted no time going back for Zayn’s left arm, locking in a chicken wing. Zayn flipped Shelley to break the hold and stumbled into the corner, but Shelley stayed on the offensive, bearing down on Zayn with a body splash. Zayn stumbled out of the corner and Shelley hit a corkscrew neckbreaker. The crowd didn’t like the advantage Shelley had over Zayn presently, booing him while both wrestlers sat out on the mat trying to catch their breath. Shelley locked Sami in a chinlock, which Sami broke free of by whipping Shelley to the ropes and levelling him with a leg lariat. Zayn picked Shelley off the mat only to be met by a sharp elbow to the face. Shelley went to backdrop Zayn, but he flipped back, landing on his feet. The crowd went wild.

Joey Styles: Sami still in this here!

Zayn spun Shelley around and whipped him to the ropes. Shelley hung on and Zayn charged to clothesline him over the top, but Shelley kicked him in the gut instead.

Corey Graves: Maybe not.

Shelley threw Zayn over his shoulder and hit a michinoku driver and pinned. 1…..2….. Kickout!

The crowd cheered and started clapping for Zayn to get to his feet. Shelley looked frustrated. He kicked Zayn into the corner and started hitting him with chops and haymakers to the gut. Zayn sumbled out from the corner and Shelley hit him with another stiff chop to the chest. He whipped Zayn to the ropes and Zayn held on this time. Shelley ran at Zayn with all his momentum and was sent tumbling over the top as Sami ducked. Zayn ran across the ring and flipped over the top rope nailing Shelley with a Senton outside of the ring! The crowd went wild. Zayn went to recover near the ring steps while Shelley somehow was already getting to his feet. He went to spear Zayn into the steps, but Zayn dodged and Shelley took the bump right into the metal. As Shelley stood holding onto his shoulder, Zayn went to the adjacent apron and hit Shelley with a dropkick through the corner ropes! Zayn threw Shelley back into the ring and went for the pin. 1…..2…..thr---- kickout from Shelley!

The crowd boo’d this as Sami shook his feet and checked the count with the ref. He got to his feet and picked Shelley up with him, and whipped him to the ropes. Shelley attempted to duck Zayn’s clothesline attempt, but Zayn caught him and used the momentum to bring him to the mat with a reverse STO. Sami transitioned into the koji clutch! The referee checked on Shelley and asked if he was good. He held it out in the submission for several seconds while the crowd cheered Sami, eventually tapping out. Ding ding ding.

After his name was announced as the winner, Zayn celebrated his victory in the ring as the crowd started an “Ole!” chant. Warfare ended with Sami making his way to the back and showing Shelley looking disappointed in the ring.
