Rene Young is stood backstage with a mic in hand. Next to her stands Baron who is clearly in his usual no nonsense mood.

Rene Young: Baron Corbin, you specifically requested interview time this week. What’s on your mind?

Baron Corbin: Well Rene! A fortnight ago the EBWF cameras caught me in what was supposed to be a private conversation. I was not exactly over the moon to have my privacy breached like this and have remained quiet on the situation until now. As you will have seen I had a decision to make. A well respected person giving me counsel. Well, I have made my decision and have decided to accept a little helping hand. Don’t mistake this for weakness, don’t mistake this as a lack of ability, certainly don’t presume for a second that I have developed a sudden love of the industry. I am the same Baron Corbin that walked into the place a month ago, the same Baron Corbin who will walk over anyone who get in my path. The difference is that now I have a… I don’t really know what to call him. He’s not my manager, not my advocate, not my mouthpiece. He offers me little in the way of personal training. He does bring many years of experience and will help me step over the pitfalls many with my so called raw talent will fall in to while they’re stepping over the carcasses of their fallen foes. I suppose the most accurate description of him is my watcher.

Rene: And who is this mystery watcher?

Baron: That is the big mystery, is it not? Why would I spoil such a moment? Why give the big scoop to Rene Young? No! That would be too easy. He will make himself known when the time is right and not a moment before. So perhaps it would be a good idea to move on to the next portion of this little chat?

Rene: Message received. Talk us through your victory prior to Death Before Dishonor?

Baron: Last week to nobody’s surprise you saw me, or rather mostly didn’t see me once again take down RVD. There was a fanboy called Matt Sydal thrown in for good measure but ultimately it was e giving a second beating to Van Dam.

Rene: What of Matt Sydal? He played an important part in the match too. You seem quick to dismiss him.

Baron: I have to admit it Rene, that little pest was an annoyance. I had given him less credit than he was due. Unsurprisingly it was I, Baron Corbin walking away with the victory but Matt has continued to bug me and I suspect I may be swatting that particular fly again somewhere down the line

Rene: And how about Raven - your opponent this week on Aftermath

Baron: Another washed up veteran of this industry. Maybe Raven should go back to writing Spiderman comics so I don’t accidentally break his hip, Rene what do you think? Week after week EBWF seem to but old timers before me and I keep knocking them down. If I keep up this reputation they’ll be calling me something unflattering like the silver slayer. Credit where credit is due though, I’ve watched some of the Raven tapes and unlike Rob Van Dam this guy seems to have a little more class but I take exception to something. I think of all my opponents so far- even Briscoe who beat me - of all my opponents so far Raven will be the closest to giving back what I dish out. As the old saying goes though - close but no cigar. That was apparently a Gorilla Monsoon quote. Or so I was told! I overheard a conversation today that I didn’t like. They said Raven made Baron Corbin look like Mr Sunshine, they even compared me to…

Corbin looks disgusted and walks off. His voice carries enough to hear him say

Corbin: They compared me to Bayley.

The scene fades on Rene barely maintaining her composure.

===OOC: One of these days I'm going to write a decent, well planned piece. Apologies for this one being on the short side & lack of description. Better than no showing though. Plus, once I introduce Corbin's second I will have a lot more material ;) ====
