Amateur Hour

Post by David »

The scene opened with what appeared to be a handheld camera being turned on. Something you'd expect from a certain stable. This time, the camera was in Dolph Ziggler's hands. He ran his hand through his hair before beginning to talk.

Dolph: Alright, so my last match did not go according to plan. For those of you who don't know, I took on Carlito and Shinsuke Nakamura for the Breakout Championship, and lady luck was on Nakamura's side. That is the only reason why he won.

A male voice was heard echoing in the background, yelling "TAP HIM OUT" and "THROW HIM DOWN."

Dolph: That's alright though, everybody gets one fluke. The thing is, I know management has confidence in me, they wouldn't put me in these scenarios where I could win a title if they didn't trust me. So, I got to thinking... This week I didn't really feel like getting asked the same stuff by the same people, so, instead of being interviewed, I decided just to turn on this camera and start talking, by suggestion of a friend, thanks again, Mr. Black.

Dolph smirked, and stopped to think for a while.

Dolph: Mr. Black... That reminds me, apparently I have a match against EBWF's resident whiner and conspiracy theorist, PJ Black! Isn't that exciting? The last time I heard anything from that guy was when he was complaining about being held down by the system. He talked about this weird ranking system designed to keep him down, something apparently only he knows about. You know what's really keeping PJ Black down? PJ Black, he's more worried about his personal life than he is about wrestling and being relevant, so he just floats by. I don't even need to see his promos to know what he's doing anymore these days, he's gotten predictable and stale, he shows no hunger, or desire to win anymore, and that's our biggest difference of them all.

Dolph spun the camera around to show where he was, his old gym. We could then see that the voice was coming from a wrestling coach, teaching guys who now do what Dolph Ziggler used to do.

Dolph: You may have noticed that I'm sweating quite a bit. There's a reason for that, and this time, it doesn't include your girlfriend. I'm sorry, I had to say that, it was stronger than me. You see, I've been training these young kids to build them up so that they can one day dream of having the success that I had in amateur wrestling. Hopefully, some of them actually make it, I'd love to see that. Though, there is a parallel to be drawn between this place and PJ Black, they're both very familiar with amateur wrestling. However, this place trains amateur wrestlers who are ten times better than PJ Black could ever be, whereas PJ Black is just an amateur all-around. I could go on and on for days about how PJ Black is going to lose on Warfare this monday, and I'm gonna get back into the swing of things, but you know me, I'm not really a show-off, I prefer to back it up.

Dolph's face turned even more serious than usual before continuing his promo.

Dolph: And, before I go, to Kevin Owens, my congratulations on being on a video game cover, but you're still an ass... And to that newcomer Jimmy Havoc, I hope you know how to bring your A-Game, go into your closet, pull out all your skeletons and "My Chemical Romance" posters, because this ain't the UK indy scene, kid. I sincerely hope we cross paths, so I can beat that angst out of you with my bare hands, just like I’m gonna beat the conspiracy theories out of PJ Black on Warfare. Later, marks. Show. Off.

As Dolph said that, he placed his hand over the lens, sending the scene to black to end the segment.
