Cactus Jack has arrived at the arena before the show is set to begin. He is walking slow but deliberately through the halls when Justin Roberts spots him, waving a camera over to get a quick interview with the returning Hardcore Legend.
Justin:
Cactus Jack has just arrived, ready to go up against Bray Wyatt in about an hour from now to kick off Warfare. Cactus, no doubt you’ve heard what Bray has had to say about you and your past and your inability to take responsibility for the actions of others who try to do what you do out there in the ring. Do you have a comment for us?
Cactus stops and glances sideways at Justin, hesitating a moment as he tries to decide to stop or just continue walking. Finally, he turns toward Justin and the camera as the microphone is turned toward him.
Cactus:
Yes, I heard what Bray has been spouting and it’s truly nothing but garbage. First of all, as any TRUE wrestling fan would know, what happens here and in every other professional wrestling company in the world, is done by professionals. We get paid to do what we do and just because I’m willing to go bigger than anyone else doesn’t mean the people at home are allowed to do it too. Hell, that’s why we have disclaimers about not doing this stuff at home. The mere fact that I have to explain this to Bray Wyatt shows just how unprofessional he really is. He obviously knows nothing about me or this industry.
Justin:
But what do you say to those that have injured themselves trying to be like their favorite wrestlers? Especially, and as Bray pointed out, you did the same thing growing up.
Cactus:
Yeah, I did my fair share of bone head stuff when I was a kid. I jumped off the roof of a garage for the sake of doing it but did I blame anyone for the things I did? Hell no. I knew what I was doing, just like each and every one of those people out there. When they try to do what we do they know there’s a risk and they just ignore the warning signs anyway. Now if you’re fool enough to attempt something you see me do and you get yourself hurt, well that sucks buddy but that’s all on you. Those people need to grow a brain rather than trying to be someone like me.
Justin:
So you do admit that you’ve made some poor decisions in the past.
Cactus Jack sighs and grabs the microphone from Justin, shoving him aside and giving his full attention to the camera.
Cactus:
Look, I never said I was perfect. I never said that I’ve done everything right since birth. But the real difference between you and me, Bray, is that I can own up to my own faults without trying to blame someone else for what I did. Now, if you can’t wrap your little head around that, then you need to think twice about coming down that ramp. You have no idea what you’re getting yourself into here tonight. You clearly have no clue about me either, for the longest time now I’ve made it crystal clear that I don’t give a damn about those fans out there. Everything I’ve done for them and what do I have to show for it? Absolutely nothing! You want me to call you a martyr? Do you even know what that means? Of course you don’t! You think you can be a martyr and still beat me, you’re as dumb as you are ugly Bray, and coming from a guy like me, that’s really saying something.
He tosses the microphone at Justin, turning and walking away.
