The scene opens with Rollins at a CrossFit gym, he’s got his hair in a bun, and is wearing a “Black and Brave” T-shirt, as well as black cargo shorts. He is shown lifting 245 pounds up to his shoulders and dropping them immediately after. The weight doesn’t seem to be too strenuous on him. He does this a few times, before dropping the weights one final time and walking away. He is heard muttering something to himself.
“Still can’t believe that guy just vanished, he’s like freakin’ Houdini.”
He walks over to a duffel bag, squats near it, unzips it, and pulls his phone out from it. He starts calling a number identified as “James” as he keeps muttering to himself.
“You’re gonna answer one of these days, man.”
The call goes to voicemail eventually once more as Rollins clearly mouths the word “Fuck”. A few seconds pass and Rollins starts walking away to work out a bit more. His phone rings again, and Rollins sighs in frustration of having to turn back around. He gets his phone out of the bag and picks up, the other side of the conversation isn’t heard.
“Hey, what’s up, Nick? Yeah, a bunch of us went out for drinks, Havoc’s a nice guy, man, you have him all wrong. That’s up to you, dude, you do you. Yeah I was gonna lift a bit more, but… You’re kidding, already? Shit, I have a sit-down interview thing with “whatserface”. I’ll talk to you later, man, see ya."
Rollins hangs up and immediately puts his stuff away in the bag, clearly in a rush to get to his sit-down interview. As he is driving home, probably past the speed limit, he still tried to call “James”, to no avail. He parked in the first spot he could find and ran all the way to EBWF HQ, past the lobby, into a neat studio where Renee Young was already seated.
“Right on time, I was worried you wouldn’t make it!” She said, teasing a winded Seth Rollins
“Busy schedule…” He tried to catch his breath as he spoke, slowly getting back to normal. “Jesus Christ, I think I drove past Jay Lethal, I don’t know how fast I was going. Never mind that, let’s do this thing.”
Renee Young signalled for the camera man to start filming as Rollins finally got his breath back.
“Hello ladies and gentlemen, we here at EBWF.com have a special treat for you, as I get to interview “The Man” Seth Rollins.”
“Wait, you forgot something. Don’t get me wrong, I am and always will be “The Man”, “The Architect” and all that fun stuff, but after King of the Ring, I am beyond that point. I am now the new number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship.”
“You’ve got a point there, and on Warfare you’ll be taking on one of the men in that match, we’ll get to that in a second. First I want to ask what was your mind-set going into King of the Ring?”
“My mind-set, you might know this by now, but for a while now, I’ve had a mantra. Redesign, Rebuild, Reclaim. That’s what was on my mind at King of the Ring. I said I’d walk out as #1 Contender and that’s exactly what I did, by Rebuilding and Redesigning myself, and, at the expense of AJ Styles, Alex Shelley and Cesaro, I got myself back on track to Reclaim what is mine, a place at the top.”
Seth briefly held his index finger pointing upwards as he finished speaking, with a smirk that clearly showed his confidence was at an all-time high.
“As we said earlier, on Warfare you will be taking on Cesaro, a man you’ve faced before.”
“Yeah, seems like just a few days ago, doesn’t it? Oh wait, it was. Let me refresh your memory, Renee, not only did I win that fatal four-way match, but Cesaro is the man I pinned in the middle of the ring, and I didn’t even have to Curbstomp him.”
“Do you feel like your pinfall over him gives you an advantage going into this match?”
“Do I feel like it? No, I know it does, but I don’t need it anyway. I won’t put Cesaro down, he’s a tremendous athlete, a strong dude, but he already knew before last night that, as good as he is, he’s not even on my level. Last night, when I pinned him, it was confirmation of that fact. Tonight, it’s just a way for me to have fun.”
“Your win at King of the Ring put you in on the front line, in contention for the Intercontinental Championship, do you know when this match will happen?”
“Nope. But I have a few ideas. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter, really. The current champion is Enzo Amore, in what world can Enzo Amore defeat me, huh?” Seth lets out one of his trademark laughs. “Not in this one, I can tell you that much. See, I don’t know for sure when I’ll get the Intercontinental Championship out of Enzo’s hands, but it will happen sooner rather than later.”
“Alright, Seth, we are almost out of time, is there anything you’d like to say to Cesaro before we finish?”
Rollins seems absorbed in thought before answering the questions.
“Sure, not just to Cesaro, but to everyone who booed me, and said I sold out for joining EBWF, to every single hypocrite who watches EBWF in hopes of seeing me get beaten up. Here’s what I have to say, tough luck. You don’t have to like the fact that I’m here, but I will make sure that you respect me, and respect what I will accomplish here. I have redesigned and rebuilt myself, and now I can start reclaiming, and you can bet your ass it won’t end with the Intercontinental Championship.”
Seth stares intensely at the camera, breathing heavily as the scene fades to black.
