Preparation/Perspiration

Post by Ian B »

Preparation is the Key.
[[Posted live to Baron Corbin's facebook page 08/07/2016 21:32]]

Scene opens in a gym, a single figure is sat at a rowing machine giving it his all. A very red Baron Corbin is wearing matching dark grey sweat pants and EBWF hoodie with hood up over a EBWF cap. After a minute or two a bleep signals the end of the rep. Corbin picks up a towel from beside the machine and wipes sweat from his brow.

Corbin: It's currently 9:30 PM and as you can see, I'm at the gym right now. Based on my twitter feed it appears everyone - even the cross-fit Jesus - has chosen to hit the bar. Fine by me, I am where I need to be for me - as Brookside rightly told me. That bastard is getting drunk right now too for the record.

Corbin stands up and adjusts where the camera is facing. He walks over to an area with small handheld weights and a mirror. He picks up a pair of the second largest weights from the racks and does fast arm curl reps. He speaks in calculated breaths as he continues his workout.

Corbin: In the past I have given the impression, that I don't care about this industry, aside from making money. That is still the case, at least to some degree, but there is a change happening in me, something that has been chipping away, at my very core for over a week now. I suffered my second EBWF loss. Though I wasn't pinned this time around, somehow the effects the loss have had on me are worse. I had an opportunity stolen from me, by a cretin whose name I wont speak, because it sickens me. There is another name on my mind though! A name I will speak, Cactus. Jack. Jack, you sick son of a bitch. Unsurprisingly, I've seen what you can do, I cant lie, I'm impressed. Not that stupid garbage wrestling crap, you're above all that. No, you're a violent dude just like I am.

Another beep. Corbin finishes the arm curl he is doing and sets the weights down. The camera is again picked up as we follow Corbin as he goes to a water cooler, fills up a small plastic cup with water and gulps it down in one. He stands by the cooler, drops the hood and removes the cap, he lets his long hair fall over his face. He picks up the camera and stares straight into it.

Corbin: Sadly for you Jack, at Warfare you are going to be a victim of circumstance. See, you may be coming into this match on the back of a victory but I have a fire under me of a different kind. I am driven by pure unadulterated revenge. The guy who's name I won't mention should pay close attention to the beat down I give Cactus Jack, it is a small example of what I am capable of, worry not though person whose name goes unspoken, there are plenty of beatings to go around. There is definitely an End of Days with your name written on it somewhere down the line. I've learned a lesson from what you did to me, don't take your eyes off of the end goal but equally watch your back at every step. I question how I didn't manage to learn that one from my NFL days but that's another matter. The ultimate prize that I am aiming for is still wearing wrestling gold around my waist meaning I bring in even bigger bucks but for now it's you Shin... person that is in the headlights ready to be mowed over, you are the short term target. Before any of that though I unleash violence on Cactus Jack, and before that - cardio. Truth is, Jack. I've been looking forward to this one. I'm annoyed that I missed out on my opportunity at a title. I thought Brookside and I had played our cards right in the backstage, getting my shot was supposed to be in the bag and now that's blown up in my face now. Bang Bang Jack! I've been chomping at the bit, It's felt like forever since the Lone Wolf got to break bones. Well, those bones may as well be bones that have been worn down and broken a thousand times before. Cactus Jack, you are a good an opponent as any for Baron to get back on track. See Cactus Jack is a bit like the guy I who actually wants to get his hand on. The king of Japanese death match is a good pace setter for another king of Japanese...

A beep indicates that Baron should be moving to his next activity but he ignores the sound and continues with what he is saying

Corbin: I see a few of you asking questions in my chat so I guess I'll engage. Where's Brookside? I answered that, he's out drinking. Don't worry he'll be around come Warfare. Why have you brought Brookside in? I swear we've been over this but okay, the wrestling industry is only fifty percent what you see in the ring. The other half is bureaucracy and politics, well... I don't play those sorts of games. I don't jump through corporate hoops, I hurt people and I enjoy doing so. Brookside handles everything backstage and I handle everything in the ring. How comes U R in a gym? Jesus, I'd assumed anyone who would bother to watch this would be able to at least spell. Okay, my response is - I expect this one to be close but I've been training hard and I'm ready for my opponent.. Do I sound enough like Matt Sydal for you? I'm in the gym to ensure I am in top form. Do you have any idea how tough it is to cause new damage to a mutant like Cactus Jack? Well, I'm smart and I've worked it out, the answer is a lot. Next question... For God's sake, I'm not answering questions about the guy right now.

Three beeps sound out

Corbin: Okay, so my workout app is giving me grief. There is no point you sticking around for this. Not that anybody watching this tape would realize but anyone who does a cardio workout and can still run their mouth isn't doing it properly. Cactus Jack, bring your best at Warfare, the Lone Wolf will be ready, waiting, ready to devour and to rip out your throat. Pray to your god, pray to cross-fit Jesus if you like, or pray to yourself since I've seen those claims. Anything to you will be in vain as you fall short and are condemned at the End. Of. Days.

The stream ends
