Rollins Report - Put Them Down (25/07/16)

Post by David »

The scene opens with the opening graphics for EBWF’s latest talk show, which can be seen on EBWF’s website for free. After the highlight reel showcasing Seth’s athletic prowess, the scene fades into a shot of Seth Rollins in front of a desk, wearing a silver and black suit. He smirks as the studio audience applauds.

“Thank you, everybody, that's right, it’s back this week, and better than ever. The best talk show in history, better than the Daily Show and the Tonight Show combined, with a host with better talking abilities than David Letterman could ever have dreamed of, it’s the Rollins Report, with yours truly, the future Intercontinental Champion, Seth Rollins. We’ve got a really great show for you tonight, our guest this week, who WILL show up for once… None other than the reigning EBWF Breakout Champion, Jimmy Havoc.”

The crowd applauds the Breakout champion’s name being mentioned.

“Before we get to that however, there’s a few things I want to address. Apparently, Matt Sydal has buddied up with a lot of the veterans in the EBWF. When asked about, a veteran who has chosen the fake name of Jay Reso said “I’m sorry. Matt who?”

Seth Rollins pauses for laughs, before continuing the monologue.

“Another thing in the news lately is the arrival of Jay Lethal to EBWF. Upon his arrival, Lethal asked EBWF and Leo Kruger if they were ready for him. Considering he’s out of the tag team classic, I’d say he’s the one who isn’t ready for EBWF.”

The crowd reacted with shock to Rollins’ shot at Lethal. He laughed at his own joke before continuing.

“The man known as “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson has made his debut in EBWF. There’s no joke here, just stating the facts. Word of advice? Challenge Sydal, he's so high all the time that I get surprised he knows where the arenas are.”

Once more, with a shot at Matt Sydal, Rollins laughs and takes a very small bow, before walking towards his desk, and sitting at it. As he began talking, clips of Jimmy Havoc and Seth Rollins’ last tag team match began playing.

“Our first ever guest on the Rollins Report is a well-known, and well-travelled wrestler. He’s been all over the UK Indy scene, and has joined EBWF. He won the Breakout championship a mere month after his debut. Ladies and gentlemen, please help me welcome my tag team partner, and my friend, Jimmy “Fucking” Havoc!”

“I Hope You Suffer” by AFI plays, to signal Jimmy Havoc’s arrival on set. He walks in with the Breakout Championship around his waist. Before sitting down, he takes the championship off, and lifts it, an action which is followed by setting it down on Seth’s desk, who nods approvingly it. Rollins and Havoc shake hands and let the mixed crowd reaction sink in.

“First of all, thanks for coming here, man. Alright, first of all, you had a prominent career in the UK independents, why come to EBWF?”

“Why not? You hear the buzz wherever you are in the world. I was in London wrestling for PROGRESS and to be honest, I got bored. Bored of the same old matches all the time, so I packed my bags and I came here. EBWF Management got back in touch with me and told me they needed something or someone like me, different. Don't get me wrong, I know I’m different but I think that's why I'm already the Breakout Champion. No-one knew how to handle me once I got myself acquainted.”

“Indeed, you are the Breakout Champion, and very soon, too. How do you feel being champion so quickly after the debut?”

“To be honest, I was originally petrified. It never even crossed my mind that I would hold a belt a month into my career in the EBWF, I would be pinning Shinsuke Nakamura on the mat for a 3 count and taking what I wanted. However, it has now sunk in and I can promise that this title will be wrapped beautifully around my waist for a long time. No-one right now in the company has what it takes to take it off me.”

Seth jokingly puts one hand over the belt and starts staring at it, before switching his focus back to Havoc

“I wouldn’t say no-one in the company… Not that it concerns me but… when are you thinking about defending it?”

“I mean, you wanna go right now? We need a ref and we can go! Nah, we're cool. I'll defend it whenever we're done with this tag team classic thing. I wouldn’t mind giving up the Breakout if I had the tag belt to fall back on you know? I like padding my stats though, get to the end of this and face Bully and Breeze and I’ll have been Breakout Champ for like 3 months at that point!”

“You’ve mentioned no one in the company being able to take the championship off of you, but is there anyone in EBWF you’re looking to face?”

“I mean, I'd love to face you bro. I believe we could make sweet sweet.... urm, wrestling! I'd also love to face Sydal, for the easy win. Raven, so I could finally shut him up. Karl Anderson has just shown up; he'd be awesome to face. That's all just talk though, I don't really have any people that I really want to face simply because they are all amazing athletes and every single one of them will be a good match, it's just a pity that they have to face me.”

“Kind words, my friend, but let’s drop the niceties, I’m not Renee Young, and I’m hardly impartial, how quickly can we dispose of Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin?”

“You know as well as me that this isn’t going to be easy. Both men are absolutely fantastic in their own rights. Sami is an amazing wrestler; he can beat you with any move he wanted. Baron is a big mean motherfucker that just wants to hurt anyone in his path. Me and Baron are 1-1 right now and I’m looking to put another 1 on my score because at the end of the day, the last time Baron got in the middle of me and a title...he fell short. Sami however, will probably be my hardest opponent to date and that's where you come in. You've faced him before outside of EBWF, you know his game. You take Sami and I'll deal with Big Banter Baron, alright?”

As Seth prepares himself to ask another question, Jimmy's head drops as he groans in pain, he stands up and darts for the camera, quickly grabbing the championship. He knocks it sideways as you can hear him...

"I... I got to go man. Sorry."

Seth is left alone, with some slight shock visible on his face. He stutters for a bit, looking very unsure on how to continue.

“Well, so much for the next five or six questions, then. Let me see...
” Rollins looks over beyond the camera, and signals for someone to come over. “Hey, you! Come here, man.”

His request is answered by none other than “The Showoff” Dolph Ziggler

“Well,”
Seth begins “Since I lost my original guest, it is a well-known fact that you and Sami Zayn have history, tell me about it, what are the secrets to beating Sami Zayn?”

“Actually…” Dolph tries to answer before being interrupted by Seth.

“You can’t, can you, because he’s beaten you. He’s beaten you on multiple occasions actually, and one of those occasions was for the EBWF World Championship, wasn’t it?”

“You just called me here to get that shot in, didn’t you? You know what, screw this.”

Dolph walks off as Seth’s smirk fades away.

“No, Dolph, screw you! While I’m at it, screw anybody who thinks Sami’s this unbeatable entity, just because he won King of the Ring. Yeah, he’s beaten Dolph Ziggler, and he’s beaten The Miz, but guess what, so have I, just last week, Havoc and I beat Miz and his little puppy!”

Seth catches his breath before regaining his composure.

“That’ll do it for the Rollins Report, this week. Before we go, however, here’s a message from one of the people in my top five favourite wrestlers list… Hell, he’s number one on that list! Here’s a message from none other than “The Architect” Seth Rollins.”

The scene fades to black, before showing an EBWF logo, followed by a transition to a shot of Seth Rollins celebrating a win in a house show, and his opponent, who was unidentifiable, had already left through the curtain. Seth was gasping for air as he asked for a microphone.

“Easy win, man!” He chuckles before continuing. “It’s not always like that though, it’s not. I know I hype myself up a lot, and talk all the smack in the world, but it’s just… I’m so good I can’t help it! I assume you know who I will be facing on Warfare? That’s right, Sami Zayn and the “Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin”

The crowd chants “Sami Zayn” at the mention of his name.

“I won’t stop you from chanting his name, chant all you want, get it all out, scream about how much you love Sami Zayn, and how he’s great. Because on Warfare, he’s gonna need all the support he can get to get past the greatest tag team in the world. This is a guy who has the nerve to call himself an underdog… I’ve never seen an underdog have so many opportunities, and this time he even has back up from the so called “Lone Wolf”. I really can’t point out how stupid of a wolf he must be, does he not know what the word “Lone” means? He has that never has been, that old yeller, Robbie Brookside all over HIS backside.”

Seth looks down before looking back up at the camera, with a very serious and determined look on his face.

“Well, that’s all gonna be taken care of soon. Because on Warfare, me and Havoc are going to get the underdog, the lone wold, and old yeller, we’re gonna gather them, and take them behind the shed. In one merciful blow, we’re gonna put them all down.”

Rollins drops the microphone, and spreads his arms out to the side taunting the crowd as the scene fades to black.
