Deserving?

13th September 2016. EBWF HQ. Kevin Owens is scheduled for a sit down interview with Renee Young.

KO – “Are we ready to start? You know I hate these things!”

Kevin was sat in a KO EBWF-Branded tee, jeans and black shoes. His hair was in its typical fashion and his beard as cool as can be.

Renee – “Yeah, that’s okay.”

She points to the cameraman to begin rolling and settles herself into her seat, checks her hair and clears her throat.

Renee - “Hello everyone and welcome to a sit down interview with Former Intercontinental Champion, Kevin Owens!”

KO - “Hey..”

Renee - “Kevin, honestly I was surprised you agreed to this interview, but I’m very happy to have you here. How does it feel to be back?”

KO - “It feels...the same as when I was facing Jericho, nothing much has changed. Sure a few titles have changed hands, but the fans are exactly the same and fortunately they welcomed me back with a very warming reaction.”

Renee - “The fans certainly liked seeing you back Kevin. When you made your first promo you said you wanted Sami Zayn to forgive you, how is that going?”

KO - “Sami is the nicest guy in the world, and one of the most talented. He seemed to come back because of my son. He also beat Seth Rollins on that night too. I don't expect him to forget everything I ever did because I know that won’t happen. However, if he needs anyone to help with this Broken problem, he knows where to find me.”

Renee - “I’m sure he’d be happy to hear that. Now, obviously your return didn’t go exactly as planned. What happened out there?”

KO - “I guess, to put it simply, I underestimated Roman. He’s still wrong, I am doing this for my family and considering the fact he also has a daughter and claims he’s only looking out for Number 1….wait, he called me the liar too. I’d love to get a rematch against Roman because I know it won’t end the same.”

Renee - “Wow, very strong words there. You weren’t on the show this week, but next week you face The Miz. Any words for Miz?”

KO - “Hmm. Nope.”

Renee - “So you’re going to go in there without saying anything?”

KO - “I’m going to wait until Warfare to say anything. When I’m front of that crowd I just get this passion and energy. They bring out the best in me. I will give you something to put on the website though. Miz, I hope you enjoy sitting in your “man cave” with Alex Riley so far up your ass you can't tell where he starts and you end. That’s what you wanted right? Something controversial?”

Renee - “Well, that’s all the time we have for…”

KO - “Yeah, that’s what I thought.”

Kevin took off his mic as Renee finished off her outro and waved at Renee laughing as she scowled at him.

September 19th. Legacy Arena. Birmingham, Alabama.

“Fight” by CFO$ blares throughout the arena as the crowd popped for the recognisable theme.
Kevin Owens walked out from the curtain and stood at the top of the ramp, turned his back to the crowd and held his arms wide. He spun around quickly and mouthed “COME ON” as he began walking down the ramp. He got to the ring stairs, stopped for a second and looked around the arena at all the fans. He got in the ring and met Christy Hemme standing there with a mic.

Owens gets a mic off Christy Hemme and starts to hype up the crowd a little bit. Kevin paced up and down the ring and eventually brought the mic up to his mouth.

“BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA!”

Kevin stopped and waited for the pop to die down.

“It is great to be here, it really is. A lot different than back home, but whenever I’m in an EBWF ring...I feel at home. This life, this career is my life! I am Professional Wrestling, this ring is my house away from my home and these ropes are the things that hold all of this together. You fans are the reason I keep coming back.”

Kevin cracks his neck and smiles at the crowd who are cheering his name.

“…and that’s the difference between myself and my opponent, The Miz. Miz seems to think that he’s better than everyone in this company, that he deserves everything that he wants. He has that puppy dog Alex Riley who he has brainwashed to agree with everything that he says. I don’t need anyone to tell me what I do and don’t deserve because I don’t deserve a damn thing. If I want something, I will go out there and earn it. Miz could lose in some Tag tournament and say he deserves a shot at the world title. Hang on, that did happen? Huh? Yeah, I lost to Jericho and now I’m right back here climbing my way back up to the top of the ladder once again. I took a loss against Roman, but if anything that only means that I need to beat you even more now.”

Kevin paused for a second.

“There’s another difference between me and Miz. This week, I made a tweet to Mark Andrews about #DefendIndyWrestling. I don't want to talk about the tweet, more about Indy wrestling on the whole. You see, I rose through the ranks of the likes of PWG, Ring of Honor, CZW and other companies. Apologies If I haven't mentioned any. That experience hardened me to the difficulties around this fucked up business. From Jim Cornette telling me I’m not good enough to make it in this industry to being hired by one of the biggest companies in this business and having to change your whole gimmick-move set and everything. The Miz came from stardom. He was on TV before making it in Pro Wrestling, he got his chances handed to him at every corner and says that he deserves to be here? God dammit Miz, you don’t deserve to lace up my fucking boots.”

Kevin paused for effect and listened to the crowds reaction.

“Oh yeah, we’re getting serious tonight Birmingham. Miz, you are a good entertainer, I’ll give you that. You’ve beaten some of the best in this business but that’s where it ends with you. All you are is a pretty face, with a shitty sidekick, who can do a few moves and is too scared to go pound for pound with the best of us. Let’s talk about Alex Riley for a moment, why do you need someone there all the time? Does he tell you you’re good? Does he tuck you in a night? What is all that about? Was Riley the reason you and Maryse split up?”

Kevin paused once again and laughed at the crowds reaction.

“Hey Maryse, I can’t understand why you were with Miz but I’ll speak something you can understand. Vous êtes sorti au bon moment. You got out at the right time, well done for that. There’s nothing against what Miz and Riley have, it’s just no-one knows what they are. Are they an item? A Tag team? Sorority Sisters? Who knows?! Either way, I don’t need anyone telling me how good I am, and I don’t need anyone to hold my hand whenever I have a match. Riley, I hope you are good at first aid because Miz will need it.”

Kevin paces back up and down the ring, eventually choosing to rest on the ropes.

“I can be funny and pick apart Miz and Riley’s little relationship but at the end of the end of the day, there’s one thing that Riley won’t tell you. It’s that he’s scared, he’s scared of what I can do to you. He’s worried about the fact that you just aren’t good enough to compete with me. I’ve seen you on Twitter and your little promos going on about AJ Styles challenging Jericho and how AJ shouldn’t be there, it should be you blah blah blah. Face the facts Miz, you aren’t World Title material anymore. You just don’t have enough in you to go all the way anymore, you’re too focused on how good your hair looks or how you are seen out of this ring. Why do you think you shoot your little videos in that little man cave of yours, you want everyone to see what new materialistic things you have. You know what we all see? We see a man desperately trying to cling onto things that make him seem ‘’cool’ or ‘relevant’ when really all it does it make you seem desperate as hell man. I ain't got much time left so I’ll leave you with this. Miz, you don’t deserve anything. If you come out here tonight and beat me, then maybe you do deserve it but then and only then will I say it. You have to earn everything in this business and nothing will be just handed to you. I will tell you what you do deserve though…”

Kevin smiles and rubs his beard.

“You deserve your head getting planted into this mat when I hit the Package Piledriver. You deserve the beating that you will get. You deserve a fucking stretcher to come out here when the match is over. Oh, and you and Riley definitely deserve each other. Stay good Birmingham, Christy! Catch!”

Kevin throws the mic towards Christy Hemme and exits the ring as Warfare cuts to commercial.

Hey! Nice RP- like the way you play KO. Just to be clear though Maryse and Miz were not together in EBWF universe (at least since I've played him which has been I think 5 years now.. yikes LOL )

Anyways- great promo and good luck!
