We open in a hotel lobby. Baron Corbin is sat nervously shuffling his feet. After a moment a middle aged African American lady in a pants walks up to him.

?: Tom Pestock?

Baron: Please, call me Baron. It's weird hearing my real name, only my family call me anything but Baron.

?: So be it, would you like to follow me?

Corbin gets to his feet and follows the lady without a word into an elevator and then into a very basic hotel room. She sits down on a wooden chair, he sits on the edge of the double bed.

?: Tell me, why are you here? I assume you want my professional services?

Corbin: Years back a guy I went to college with said you'd done wonders for him when he was in my situation and it always stuck with me.

?: How flattering. Your friend is right, I'm considered one of the most effective in my field have been for over a decade. You get what you pay for Baron and my services don't come cheap

Corbin: I did my research. I'm sure you'll be worth every cent.

The woman reaches under the chair she is sat on and into a handbag. She removes a tablet, powers it up after a few seconds she stands and outstretches her palm to Baron

?: Dr Olivia Munro, psychiatrist and psychologist

Corbin takes the offered hand and shakes it before shifting some more.

Dr Munro: I've done a little research on you Mr Corbin. I know enough that you're a professional wrestler. So tell me in your own words - what is bothering you

Corbin: I'm struggling with... identity. I feel like I keep taking my job with me. More than I should be

Dr Munro: We all have out problems Baron. Being a part of the group known as The Broken appears to be a big responsibility. I've read up on similar issues affecting many of the wrestlers & people in the entertainment industry in general. I imagine it's a common problem. Have you discussed this problem with any of your friends?

She consults her tablet for a second

Dr: Mr Lopez or Mr... Mr Jimmy Havoc? Wow, this Havoc man is... this is extremely violent... he really does have a mouth!

Baron: No. Neither of them know about this, well, not really. I'm struggling to switch off. Outside the ring those guys are James and Colby they go out, party, hang out. When I'm around them I can let go a little but when I'm alone?. The lines are getting blurred. Tom is becoming less and less of who I am. I am increasingly becoming Baron Corbin in and out of the ring. I got a legit police caution last week for being an asshole that's when I knew I needed professional advise

Dr: What about veterans in your chosen field surely they would be able to help? At one point you were close to a Mr Brookside. I take it that relationship has broken down?

Baron: Yup. We left him battered in the ring. Not really seen him since.

Dr: Is there any one you look up to in the industry who could maybe guide you?

Baron: I had a reputation as a lone wolf, that wasn't too far from the truth. Also, I'm sort of stubborn when it comes to asking for advise, it's a very cut throat business so that's how I got here.

Dr: Going back to what you were saying. What has made you act- to quote - like an asshole?

Baron: Tom isn't exactly Mr Sunshine and Butterflies but I keep my nose clean. Baron is an asshole who gets in trouble. That might sound like a good thing - being immersed in what I do, but when it affects my personal life? I'm not certain that's good is it?

Dr: I'm here to help you answer the questions Baron. We will get to that one at some point but first I need to get an idea of which area of this issue we should focus on. Answer me this, do you have any hobbies? Something maybe less... violent?

Baron: I like collecting skulls and... burning stuff?

Dr: Seriously? I thought that was just part of the character

Baron: 'fraid not! I've always been a bit of a pyro. Don't get me wrong - I wouldn't do damage to anything serious, it's not a problem, I've got it under control.

Dr: Where did your obsession start?

Baron: Nightmare on Elm Street. My Uncle showed me those films when I was waaay too young.

Dr: Sounds like a fantastic idea! Still, it could be worse you could have developed much more disturbing traits based on those movies. Okay, so I have that noted down. I want to explore a little more about your family. Any other hobbies?

Baron: I'm slowly building my own bike.

Dr: That sounds promising - getting out on the open road can be a great way to relax and time to think can be a key tool in forging a sense of identity when the lines between fantasy and reality become blurred.

Baron: Plus, I love the smell of fuel.

Dr: Perhaps we need to find other avenues? Have you considered meditation?

Baron: I'm not exactly the inner peace type I'm afraid doc

Dr: Okay, I'll keep thinking about ways to channel your energy in a more productive way outside of the ring and you avoid barbecues and fire pits for now, does that sound good?

Baron: Are we done already?

Dr: For the first session, yes. There are some unique issues that are going to take some processing. I want to speak to you again after Destiny. Sound good?

Baron nods. The Doctor spends a few moments typing notes onto her tablet then she stands and begins to head out of the hotel.

Baron: Thanks for the advise. I'll be in touch

Dr: Thanks, Tom. Oh and good luck in your match against Seth Rollins

=============

The scene opens in the same hotel room. An unusually clean looking Baron Corbin is sat on the edge of the bed in a black bath

Baron: There's irony in the fact that this week's show is named Destiny. See, destiny has brought The Broken to a point where we have multiple titles. When I see we I mean Seth and Jimmy. The Broken have destroyed all that have gotten in our way - all but Sami Zayn but that's another matter for a time that is not now.

Corbin looks annoyed at the thought of Sami Zayn.

Baron: Destiny has dictated that Seth and I are facing off for the intercontinental title. Brother versus brother. You hungry wrestling fans seem to eat this stuff up. I bet you'd love to see this cause friction between us. I can tell you two things. First you are going to be disappointed. When Seth and I come out of the ring we will be just as united as before. Secondly, you will not be disappointed. We are going to put on a match, normally I would boast about how I was going to trample my opponent but not this time. We are well matched and this is going to be a the closest contest since Corbin/Havoc III. Honestly though, I'm going out there looking for the victory. People look at me as the only guy in The Broken without a belt. I don't care though, The Broken is about more than titles, it is about rescuing people from themselves. Jimmy has rescued me and one of these days I will pay that forward. On this topic, I would like to make a plea to any of the wrestlers who are looking on. If you accept that you are broken and wish to find out more then watch Corbin versus Seth carefully. We will show you a better way. We will guide you in unlearning the bad habits society has manipulating you into carrying around with you.

Corbin clenches his fist and studies it for a moment

Baron: You will be much less burdened plus, have you seen us? The four of us? Your role models? Why would you want to be against us? There is an answer! The Broken are the best thing in this business and the best way to sharpen your skills is face the best. I respect my broken brothers and sisters. Once I've ensured Seth is unable to meet a three count I will grant him mercy and walk out victorious. I am not the monster I am sometimes labelled as. I am good to my friends.

Baron stands and begins to pace

Baron: Enemies of The Broken on the other hand? That's a place I would not want to be. We take what we want, not for greed but because it is our destiny. The End of Days are coming and you should examine yourselves and ask if you really want to go against that growing wave of momentum. Now, my brother, Seth Rollins. I need to address you directly. I hope you're as prepared as I am. I will be disappointed if your mind is on anything other than this match. You are one of the hottest prospects in this company. A lot of people called you the future, then it became your time. Yes, it is your time but Destiny is not going to be your night. I have too much to lose in this one. Pride is very important to be, sometimes to my detriment, pride comes before a fall, right? Not the case. I will hurt you Seth but you expect that.

Baron stops pacing and gets closer to the camera. He grins and produces a smaller than normal white lighter from the pocket of his robe. He flicks the lighter a few times and creates small flickers each time. After a moment the fire detector does it's. Corbin then picks up his pillow and wafts it underneath the detector but to no avail sirens kick in.

Baron: I don't expect there'll be any fire risks this time

Corbin laughs as he begins to walk to the door. He pauses and turns

Baron: Once I've done hurting you Seth ,I'm more than happy to carry you to the back. As I've already mentioned, you have my respect. It is that respect that demands I defeat you. I won't apologize for what needs to be done. You may leave the match battered and bruised but I promise you this brother, we will both walk away still Broken. Best wishes.

Baron salutes the screen and closes the door. The scene fades
