Game of War.

Post by Sam »

OOC: Long one this week! Good luck Tony! Cant wait to see how it turns out :)

Boo’s filled the arena. A natural sound for Jimmy Havoc, this is what he lives for; THIS is what he is prepared to die for. You can always have your goody two shoes’ wrestlers who live to please the fans. Havoc knows he has a place in wrestling, to be on the tongue of every fan and every talent in the business. Good or bad, he wants to be talked about. To hear two people in a coffee shop saying how much he sucks or how much a bad guy he is, is just music to his ears and a job well done. Today, however, the crowd very booing for multiple reasons, mainly due to the fact they don’t like Jimmy but when you throw in the fact that Jimmy had beaten up his own Broken Brethren and the previous week he overcame tremendous odds and defeated their beloved underdog Sami Zayn, this was a firework ready to explode… and he knew it.

Corey Graves: I just don’t get it Joey, why would Jimmy attack his own partner? Then walk him up the ramp like nothing happened?!

Joey Styles: I’m just as confused as you Corey; I thought Havoc was out here just for Kevin Owens, we all know KO has been less than quiet about his opinion on The Broken.

Corey Graves: I’m with you on that one; looks like Havoc sent a message to both men!

Jimmy walked up the ramp with Corbin hanging off his shoulder; he took one look at the camera behind him, smiled and walked through the curtain.

Corey Graves: Whatever he’s doing, he knows how to get our attention.

Joey Styles: That’s been Havoc’s style this whole time Corey, maybe he craves the attention a little too much…

As the two men got through the curtain, Jimmy placed Corbin down on a chair, grabbed an icepack and put it on Corbin’s head and then places Corbin’s hand on it to keep it in place. He smiled at Corbin and started to walk away.

Baron Corbin – “Hey… wait.”

Corbin said this in a daze, still unsure as to what just happen; Jimmy turned and looked at Corbin.

Jimmy Havoc – “Whenever you feel better, come see me. For now, rest up.”

Jimmy again turned his back on Corbin and walked down a hallway and took a sharp right around a corner until he was out of Baron’s eye line. He leaned against the wall, not sure of what he’d done or whether it was a mistake. He shut his eyes for a moment, allowing it all to sink in.

When he opened his eyes, he noticed Leva walking down the hallway with her eyes fixed on him. His mood suddenly changed, he was happy…like only she could make him. As she got closer though, his expression changed. He noticed hers, full of anger and upset. Jimmy was confused; he did good…didn’t he?

Leva: “What the hell was that?!”

Jimmy Havoc: “What…What do you mean?!“

Leva: “You went out there to send Kevin Owens a message and you end up hurting one of the few people that idolize you! Baron would die for you, you moron! Baron is the person willing to fall at your feet and follow you to the end of this whole thing and THAT’S how you treat him?”

Havoc stumbled at Leva’s words. What she said was right, it was factual and true. He just really did not care.

Jimmy: “You remember the conversation we had last week right? I’m probably the greatest Breakout Champion EBWF has ever seen, why does someone who I took under my wing…deserve the right to jump ahead of me and capture the Intercontinental Championship?"

Leva: “You’re being blinded by gold. You’re not practicing what you preach. What happened to being Broken together? What happened to the solidarity that you showed at the start of all this? You’re being a hypocrite!!”

Havoc became visibly angry at the sheer mention of his loyalty.

Havoc: “Do you think I did this for me?! Do you think I did this to go against The Broken? You couldn’t be more wrong than right now. You have a lot to learn Leva... I’m willing to teach you, but when you come here and dare to question my loyalties, that is where I draw the line.”

Havoc began walking away in a bad mood, his loyalties had been disrespected. Don’t get him wrong, he cares about Leva. To a large extent, he’d do anything for her. Damn anyone who would question his motives, however. Leva grabbed his arm as he walked past her.

Leva: “Aren’t you going to at least tell me what the plan is here?”

Havoc smirked; he enjoyed talking about his schemes and plans. He enjoyed more that Leva wanted to know about it. He turned his footing to face Leva, his face got closer to hers and smiled again.

Havoc: “Baron is a fine soldier in this war. One of the better ones I could’ve asked for, he does whatever I tell him. There’s a problem though, his status in this company is higher than mine. Whilst I’m not one to care about status and how people think of me, an issue arises therein. I have to adhere to the status quo for this group to evolve, how can we make our mark on this company when I’m too busy beating all the new guys that come and go in this company? Timothy Thatcher was a damn fine wrestler, wasn’t good enough to beat me and now look at him. Broken down and ruined all because he joined at the wrong time and fought for the wrong belt. I want that Intercontinental Title, I NEED that Intercontinental Title. Have you seen the way the top guys in this company talk about us? ‘Just another flash in the pan’ or ‘another Brian Kendrick wannabe emo’ and quite frankly I’ve had enough of it. I’m sick to death of being treated like we’re nothing, like we’re just the latest hot shit group that is bound to disband and then we’ll all drift away in our separate direction with no hope and nothing to do. I won’t allow that and I CANT allow that. I will beat Baron Corbin for the Intercontinental Championship; I will put this group on my back and carry us up the ladder to the very top. It will take everything I’ve got and I will prepare to die for this company but god dammit….You, Baron and Seth are bloody worth it. Talents that nobody cared about, talents that have the best intentions and wanted to give everything for this company and the fans, only for them to reject you at any opportunity. You were the newest thing when you teamed with Bayley and what did she do? She left and never looked back, leaving you on your own to fend for yourself. This is why I do what I do, for the lost sheep and the broken. You are the reason that I strive to the best. YOU are the reason I am who I am. For that, I thank you. I carry this burden not because I have to but because I want too.”

Leva looked at Jimmy with a sort of wonderment. She hung on every one of Jimmy’s words, as if he was the only thing she cared about right then. To her, He spoke like a true leader.

Leva: “I’m glad I was chosen. I’m glad I chose you. What we’ve shared over the last month has been… Intense. But, I’m happy it’s been done.”

FOUR WEEKS BEFORE. FLASHBACK.

The titantron lit up as the scene opened up to the backstage area. Blue Pants was leaning against the wall, her back towards the camera, face leaning into the white bricks of the arena. She turned her body slightly so that she rolled over onto her back. She was clearly distraught. Her hand reached up to the back of her neck to rub at it as she went to walk off to the locker room. Off camera, a voice called out, startling her.

???: Wait! Don’t run away.

A man had walked right behind Blue Pants, a little too close for comfort. Blue turned around and sent the side of her hand into his throat on instinct as soon as his hand touched her shoulder. He gagged and grabbed at his neck, turning red in the face from the throat chop. A lanyard with a name badge dangled loosely from his body, and she yanked it free, holding it up to read.

Blue Pants: So your name is “Anthony”, huh? Well guess what, I still think you’re a CREEP! STOP FOLLOWING ME!

Blue Pants shoved this Anthony back into the wall then kicked him on the side of the knee, making his leg give out. There was a trashcan nearby, and Blue Pants grabbed it and dumped it over his head before forcing the container over the top half of his body. She gave it one more hard kick for good measure before making her quick escape, stumbling over herself in her hurry. The camera focused back on the man named “Anthony” as he struggled to free himself of the receptacle.

From Whence You Came.

The scene moves to a room, not much bigger than a regular office. All fully wrapped in cellophane, from ceiling to floor. The scene focuses on the middle of the room where a body lies on a table, wrapped in a small amount of cellophane showing the man's body also. The scene zooms in on the man's face and is immediately recognised as ‘Anthony’ the Producer who Blue Pants had a previous altercation with. Anthony’s eyes suddenly open and as he comes to realisation of where he is, he starts to struggle and escape. He looks around as he tries to make ends meet in his head, eventually he tries to let out a cry as a shadowy figure sits up from a dark corner of a room and makes his way over to the table. The figure is revealed to be Jimmy Havoc as he approaches the light above the table. Jimmy removes the cellophane and cotton from Anthony's mouth.

Anthony - “What the fuck man?! What the hell?! Why?!”

Jimmy stuffs the cotton back into Anthony's mouth and covers it with the cellophane.

Jimmy - “Quite simply. You fucked up.”

Jimmy walks to the head of the table and brandishes a knife and positions it across Anthony's neck.

Jimmy - “I warned you. Stay away from her after the first time you fucked up. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, prepare to die.”

Jimmy chuckled to himself.

Jimmy - “I liked that, fool me twice. Ha! Anyway, yeah. I told you to stay away and you didn’t, you could’ve ruined everything I’ve earned. Everything I deserve, Everything I’ve strived for. Now, you pay for your mistakes, it’s just a shame you pay with your life.”

The door near the corner creaked open slowly as Jimmy’s smile widened.

Jimmy - “You’re going to like this…”

Blue Pants entered the room hesitantly, trying to process what she saw before her. She went to take a step closer when Anthony let out a muffled call for help. She immediately turned to run out of the room, but the door had closed behind her, a lock clicking shut. She tried to twist the knob and force the door open to no avail.

Blue Pants: I reaaaally don’t like this…

Jimmy: And I like to listen to Taylor Swift while doing my nails. Sorry, were we just telling lies about ourselves?

Blue Pants: How did you get my number? Did you brainwash my phone, too??

Jimmy: No, I just have...ways of getting things that I want.

Blue Pants: What about what I want?! Like you LEAVING. ME. ALONE.

Jimmy: Because, my darling, I know what you want...and it’s not me not bothering you anymore. I could quite easily just fuck off and try with anyone else on the EBWF Roster. However you, you want this. I know you do. Why else would you have come here?

Jimmy pointed to Anthony’s body squirming on the table as he talked. Blue Pants wore a look of guilt. To Havoc, it suited her. Jimmy put his hand on Blue Pants’ face, almost caressing her cheek. She pushed it away.

Jimmy: Deep down you know you don’t want to leave.

This time Havoc brought the flat face of his knife to her chin, holding it up for her as she drew away again. He turned his attention back to the man on the table. He started to scream again, his face going red as Havoc let the knife hover over his body, holding it as if he were to stab him at any moment. Blue Pants slowly took a step forward, hoping to keep out of Havoc’s line of sight.

Jimmy: You know, there’s something special about taking that last breath of air from someone. It’s like watching your child take its first steps, captivating.

Jimmy reared his arm back to bring the knife down into Anthony’s chest, but Blue Pants lunged forward, grabbing a hold of Havoc’s arm to keep it from thrusting the blade into the body. A struggle ensued between Havoc and Blue Pants, with Havoc easily overtaking Blue Pants.

Jimmy: Oh, so you want in on the fun, is that it? Go on then!

Jimmy had Blue Pants by the back of her head with a fistful of hair. She had stopped fighting knowing it was pointless trying to outpower him. He took the knife and forced it into her hand, holding it closed to hold the knife with his own. She was looking away as he started yelling loudly over Anthony, who was still screaming through his gag.

Jimmy: I thought this is what you wanted, Leva. Why else would you have come here? DO IT!

He tried forcing her arm down into the body but positioned the knife so it never reached the flesh.

Jimmy: You have all the control, I’m giving it to you. This man tried to fuck with you, he tried to brainwash you...remember that? I on the other hand, don’t like brainwashing i prefer the more aggressive method of recruiting. Now if i believe right, you dont like when people try to brainwash you...right?

Havoc smirked and released the knife, leaving only Blue Pants holding it. Anthony once again tried to struggle until Havoc grabbed him by the throat.

Jimmy: “Try that shit again and I’ll make sure this blow doesnt kill you...Go ahead Leva, fucking end his miserable life would ya?”

Blue Pants was still shaking, paralyzed in the moment. In a flash of frustration, Havoc lunged at Blue Pants, reaching for her arm again. He had pulled it forward but in the last moment released his grip, allowing Blue Pants to freely bring down the blade into the man’s chest. In the split second the metal punctured skin the scene went to black.

Back to Reality.
Leva looked Havoc dead in the eyes.

Leva: “If you do this, you have my full support. Getting Baron… That’s a whole other story.”

Havoc smiled at Leva.

Jimmy: “Don’t worry, I know exactly how to play this out.”

Havoc playfully winked at Leva and began to walk away. Leva smirked and walked in the opposite direction. Havoc came to a locker room, the one that The Broken mainly use with no interruptions…perks of being a group with 3 Championships. He sat down in a chair and took a drink from a bottle of water before the door swung open and Baron Corbin started to barrel into the room.

Havoc arose from his chair quickly, held his hands up and allowed Corbin to grab him. Corbin pushed Havoc against the wall and lifted him up slightly.

Corbin: “What the hell was that all about?! I TRUSTED YOU?! You ignore me for weeks then you pull this shit? I would do anything for you! But this is not how things should be”

Havoc mockingly pretended like a bad smell had come from Corbin’s mouth.

Havoc: “Well, you see. If you hadn’t been so rude, you’d understand what I’m about to say and I wouldn’t want to blow your fucking brains out right about now. Now put me down you idiot.”

Corbin huffed and dropped Havoc, he walked away in an angry state, sat down on a chair and sit waiting.

Corbin: “Well come on then, out with it. I can’t wait to hear how you are going to justify this. What's your spin?”

Havoc’s smirk suddenly changed to hate. He pulled a knife out of his back pocket, took it out of its cover and charged for Corbin, pushing him backwards off the chair and holding the knife to his throat.

Havoc: “I DON’T FUCKING SPIN ANYTHING SUNSHINE. I HAVE BEEN HONEST WITH YOU FROM THE START. SOMETHING HAPPENS WHICH IS OUT OF YOUR FUCKING CONTROL AND YOU TREAT ME LIKE SHIT. LIKE THE REST OF THEM.”

Corbin didn’t flinch, but sensed that maybe he was a bit rough when using his words.

Corbin: “I’m sorry, okay. Anger got the best of me”

Havoc suddenly began smiling again and picked up Corbin.

Havoc: “Good, you should be angry. You have every right to be, doesn’t mean we can’t talk about this like grown-ups though does it? Now listen, That Intercontinental Championship of yours…I want it. I believe I can do a better job at holding it than you.”

Corbin looked confused, he had earned this belt.

Corbin: “But, I earned this. Why do you have to have it? I can do anything you can do”

Havoc began to get annoyed, hoping Corbin would just cave into the idea.

Havoc: “You like being in The Broken, right? So how do you think it makes us look when the leader doesn’t even have the best belt in the group? We’re a laughing stock mate. If you hand me the belt right now, we can dominate the company…how about it?!”

Corbin looked even more confused, but got a bright idea.

Corbin: “While I can see where you’re coming from. I’m not high on just giving it to you. Listen we’ve had instant classics a ton of times before. Why not do it again?”

Havoc was playful with the idea.

Havoc: “Why put yourself through that all again though? I could easily destroy you. If that’s what you want though. That’s the way it’s gonna be. You’re on.”

Corbin smiled

Corbin: “So if you win, You get the belt. What’s on the line for me? When I beat you, what do I get? I’ll be the new leader of The Broken…right?”

Havoc looked Corbin dead in the eyes and hoped he was sarcastic, but he wasnt.

Havoc: “Okay Baron, you beat me and you can put up with mine, Seths and Levas shit. How about it?”

Corbin realised what being the ‘Leader’ entails, his fixation then was on the Breakout Championship.

Corbin: “Well, how about that? Belt for Belt?”

Havoc turned around and stared at the Breakout, thought for a while and turned back.

Havoc: “You’re right, we’ve been through wars before...how about 1 last Great War? 2 out of 3 Falls. I’m quite confident i’ll win 2-0 so that’s fine, however if you pin me even once you win the EBWF Breakout Championship. Something I hold very dear to my heart.”

Corbin smiled.

Corbin: “I like the sound of a Great War...you’re on Havoc. Can’t wait.”

Jimmy smirked, his confidence showing through as if he was wearing it on his shirt.

Havoc: “Cool, i’ll get it set up. Shine that belt for me though. Okay?”

Havoc exited the room before Baron could get a say in, but Baron knew this was gonna be a good one.

EBWF Warfare - Oklahoma City. 24th October 2016.

Havoc looked around the immediate area around him. This was not the usual dark and demeted, twisted idea’s he’s used to. This was just the backstage area, he stood next to a TV screen with the EBWF logo. Another Warfare, another interview segment, no Michael Cole though as he wasnt going to be anywhere near Havoc for the foreseeable future. He was stood to the left of Renee Young who went over what pointers to talk about and how she’s going to introduce him, he didnt listen though because he knew what we was going to talk about. The one thing thats between him and potential greatness. PJ Black. PJ was a whole new area for Havoc, he had faced many of his opponents beforehand on different occasions, PJ was fresh for the slaughter.

Renee – “Okay Jim, you ready? We roll in 20 seconds.”

Jimmy snapped back into reality, back from his day dream. He knew what he was about to say was going to be broadcast live in front of millions of people around the world...he smirked. Off camera a Producer counts down from 5 to 2 until the feed goes live.

Renee – “Ladies and Gentleman, joining me at this time is the EBWF Breakout and One half of the Tag Team Champions...Jimmy Havoc!”

Jimmy didn’t say a word, unfazed by what Renee had just said he carried himself as usual.

Renee – “Okay Jimmy, you face off tonight against the Path to Glory Champion, PJ Black! What are your thoughts on facing someone whos on such a high roll as PJ?”

Jimmy turned his head uncomfortably, he knew about PJ Black, champion for god knows how long. Seems unbeatable at times, but Jimmy knows the flaws in everyone.

Jimmy – “PJ Black. PJ Black. PJ likes to do all that adrenaline junkie shit right? Jump out of planes, going on adventures in the wild and all that. He does that to feel that rush like you probably should be dead by now but you’re not. You’re hanging on and challenging the devil himself to a game of chicken to see who steps out of the way first. To see who is the real true master of one’s life, theres a small detail there though. I call myself an adrenaline junkie too PJ! The only significant difference is however, I dont need to pretend cool and skydive and do all that shit just to put on my instagram just so people know i’ve done it. You wanna know where I get that rush from? I get that rush in the ring, I get that rush when I know i’m in there with someone who’s ready to fight and who’s willing to leave it all on the table just for the sake of a 3 count. As far as you’re concerned PJ, i’m the only Devil you should be worried about right now. I’m the one who’s going to spilling your bloody out there, im the one stood in your way and you can fucking guarantee that I aint moving for no-one. I’ll admit you’ve done very well for yourself but I do chalk that up to the fact that we haven’t actually faced off before. It seems you’ve been avoiding me PJ, why is that? Do I scare you? Cos i bloody well should! Go speak to Sami Zayn and ask him how feels about me now, go speak to all the other nobheads that tried to talk me down and underestimate me and found out the true power behind Jimmy FUCKING Havoc.”

Renee – “Wow, strong words. You mentioned Sami Zayn, you beat him 2 weeks ago then attacked Kevin Owens last week. What was all that about?”

Jimmy – “Quite simple, strike fast. Look, i’ve been listening to Sami and Kevin spill there love for each other these past few weeks. Talking about teaming up to take down The Broken, i just made sure that they knew what we are about. Sami found out in a match-up we had, no-one in that building wanted me to win and when I did the boo’s came showering down. To be honest Renee, I loved every second of it, to be able to stare into those fans’ faces and be the one to finally show them that there hero is nothing more than a lie was...perfect. Oh and Kevin? Well, he just needed putting back in his place. You see, like PJ, no-one wants me near the top, everyone said that i’d be beaten by those guys. They said that i’d just be cannon fodder for the top guys, a bad guy for all the good guys to get a win over. Well, i’m clearly fucking not. I plan to further cement that even more by beating PJ Black tonight, I know I said it last week but I need these wins. I need to carry The Broken further and further up that ladder and secure our rightful place at the top of EBWF with a beautiful broken crown.”

Renee – “Okay so you mentioned The Broken...you attacked Baron last week...what was all that about?”

Jimmy – “What does that fucking matter to you? It was an internal dispute that we have solved internally. No more said about it...actually. That’s a very good point, I attacked Baron for a reason only I am him shall know for now. PJ mate, you think you know how to beat anyone. You think you know your way around any ring to beat any opponent. How can you prepare for someone so unpredictable like me? You wanna know how I know i’m unpredictable? Because I dont call it before I go out there, I just fucking do stuff. I do whatever feels right at that moment in time and if it feels right to hit you with that Acid Rainmaker then i’m sorry man. It’s game over for you, the only adrenaline you’ll be feeling is the one the doctors gonna prescribe ya. You can talk about how youve beaten all these other people like Zayn, Styles, Jericho. Whoever you fancy namedropping it doesnt matter because you have never met anyone like me and of course you’ll spit the old addage of how im just another flash in the pan Brian Kendrick but lets be honest and not kid ourselves any longer...I’m not am I? I’m a new type of horror, im the new face of fear and fucking torture. You know aswell as I know, i’m not a flash in the pan. Beat me tonight PJ and i’ll be back again soon, maybe even for that lovely PTG Championship. I’ll cash it in on that same night and do what you could never do, have the balls to take what you want. I want that EBWF Championship more than anyone in this company, because I know what it means to people like me. You’ve done all of this shit before in previous companies whilst I was grafting and battling in that pro wrestling ring. I love this shit and you treat it all like a game. You want to know what game I’m going to play? Simple, The Game of Life. I’ll explain the rules...it’s where I beat you to within an inch of your life and whilst your taking that last breath of yours...i’m gonna keep you alive to beat you down some more. PJ, this isn’t going to be your run of the mill Warfare match where you get your stuff in, hit the 450 and go home. No way, this is going to a hell of a fucking fight and I really do hope you are prepared because i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again...dont fucking underestimate me because i’ll only put you down for the 3 count. “

Renee – “Wow...just wow. Anything left to say?”

Jimmy grabs his mask from his pocket and puts it on his face, he winks at the camera....

“DO YOU WANT TO PLAY A GAME?!”

blasts throughout the backstage area as the lights flick off. When the lights came back on Havoc was gone, only the words ‘KILL HAVOC KILL’ appeared spraypainted on the wall they were using as a backdrop. The scene fades away as Renee scrambles to compose herself.
