Scene One: Autograph Signing.

It was yet another night of disappointment for Evan Bourne, as he had lost a match to Christian at the Sacrifice pay per view and his confidence had taken yet another hit. And it was the way he was losing his matches that hurt the most, as he was just about one second away from winning his matches but he just kept finding a way to lose and it was definitely frustrating him and eating away at him from inside. However tonight was a new night and he had another chance at the Breakout title after his match against Trent Baretta had been interrupted by Bully Ray. He seemingly didn’t have to worry about interference from Bully Ray as both himself and Trent had competed in a Hardcore match for the Breakout title, it was a hellacious match which saw Trent successfully retain his precious title and live to fight another day. Evan knew that Trent might still be nursing the wounds of war in his brutal match and the high flying Evan Bourne would definitely have to take advantage of it, it was now or never for Evan and he had a golden opportunity to win the title and prove that he could stand on his own two feet by winning a Singles championship.

Now the title match wasn’t the only thing on Evan’s mind, he also had to spend the last few days hearing about rumours that his girlfriend Maria was thinking about leaving the company due to reasons both professional and personal. However she didn’t seem to be troubled at all as she had managed to lead her team to victory which definitely made Evan happy because he knew that that would have given her a glimmer of hope to hang around the company for a little while longer, and possibly make another push for the championship making the third time a charm. On that same subject, after spending some quality time with her a few days back which saw her going out of her way and cooking dinner for him, she had decided to head back to her hometown and visit family since she had the week off. Before she had left, she had given him some words of encouragement and motivated him for his match this week and his career as a whole, just like he had been doing to her last week. He would definitely keep those words in mind during the week that she was away. They had kept in touch with each other through texts, as he wanted to ensure that she was okay and safe back home. EBWF was holding a few promotional sessions to help hype up the upcoming Warfare and Total Recall shows, and Evan was scheduled to attend a meet and greet autograph signing at a store with the fans. He was seated behind a table at the store as various EBWF fans came over to greet him and get his autograph. Most of the people he simply said “hi” to, gave them his autograph and watched them depart however a few of them actually stood there and engaged in a decent conversation. A middle aged man had approached him with a book underneath his arm as he places it on the table opening it up and revealing all the autographs that he had in the book, Evan signed on the vacant part of the book as he looks at it intently then up at the man.

Matthew Korklan
Wow, you’ve seemed to have meant quite a bunch of famous people. This is quite the interesting array of autographs you have here.

Joe Taylor (fan 1)
Yes, I’ve had the honour of meeting a bunch of famous athletes, it’s definitely something to brag about that’s for sure. I’m really a big fan of yours and have been following your career extensively, it’s unfortunate that you couldn’t win the Breakout championship two weeks ago against Trent. But you got to keep fighting man, I know you’ve got a second crack at the title and I am sure the second time will be the charm for you.

Evan nods his head in approval as he gives the fan his autograph and hands it over to him.

Matthew Korklan
Hey, thanks for the support hope you have a great day.

He proceeds to sign a few more autographs, giving fans a quick greeting and taking pictures with some fans who had requested them. He then meets a rather interesting fan who was a sporting a New York Yankees cap, removing it so that he could get Evan’s autograph.

Jashaun Simpson (Fan 2)
Yo, what’s up?

Evan takes the cap and signs it before giving it back to him and smiling.

Matthew Korklan
Hey there how’s it going?

The fan takes the cap from Evan and has a dumbfounded look on his face.

Jashaun Simpson (Fan 2)
That’s what I asked you.

Matthew Korklan
Oh, not a whole lot. Just enjoying the scenery around here and having fun meeting and greeting the fans.

He places the cap back on his head and shakes his head from side to side at Evan’s response.

Jashaun Simpson (Fan 2)
Man! You wrestlers are all whack, and really have nothing interesting to say. Anyways bro, I just heard about your match this week for the title. I think I know everyone in this store and all the EBWF fans know the end result of it, and that’s you losing yet again and failing to capture the championship. You might as well put your hat into the Tag Team battle Royal invitational that I heard about this week, since it’s evident that you can only go as far as person that is watching your back pushes you.

Now it was Evan who had a dumbfounded look on his face as he was unsure where this outburst of his had come from as he watches the fan vacate the area as the next person walks up to the table, this person was someone whom he was familiar with as he had met him in a gym back in Des Moines, Iowa just under a month ago. He looks over at him and chuckles.

Dave Lewis
Jeez, I just heard what the fan said to you. Some people are just so confusing. Anyways, I heard that you were doing an autograph signing at this store and thought I’d catch up with you and see how you were doing.

Matthew Korklan
Yeah you can say that again…I’m doing fine man what about you? How’s the local wrestling working out for you.

Dave Lewis
It’s going pretty smoothly actually, got lucky the other week and avoided a serious injury. I ended up rolling my ankle during a match. I heard a loud crack sound the moment I went down and I thought that it was something serious, but after visiting the doctors they thankfully said it was nothing serious and told me to just rest for the week and that it was just a sprain.

Matthew Korklan
Nice to hear that luck’s on your side, I know for a fact how injuries can be devastating.

Dave Lewis
Yeah definitely. I managed to catch your match last week by the way at the pay per view against Christian, and what a match it was! I thought you had it won, but Christian managed to come out with the victory.

Matthew Korklan
Yeah William or “Christian” to you fans, pulled a fast one on me and showed great ring presence on the way to victory. That loss at the pay per view definitely hurt but I’ve got a title match this week to look forward to and I can’t want to get some redemption.

Seeing that he was taking up a lot of time, the other fans behind him in the line began to holler and yell telling him to hurry up and get his autograph as Evan shakes his head from side to side.

Matthew Korklan
Well we better cut this conversation short, sounds like the fans are getting rowdy. ~laughs~ Anyways what did you want me to sign?

Dave proceeds to pull out a notepad from his pocket as Evan quickly signs it as Dave shoves it back into his pocket and bids him a quick farewell before the fans could get more rambunctious.

Dave Lewis
Alright, I’ll let you get on with the autograph signing. Good luck in your title match, I’ll definitely be rooting for you man.

With that being said Dave quickly departs from the area as Evan tends to the last group of fans giving them his autograph that they had come for before the store reaches near the closing time as he had finished off the autograph signing just in time.

End Scene One.

Scene Two: Focused.

A night of firsts was about to take place for the high flying Evan Bourne, as he was scheduled to compete on Total Recall for the very first time and he had another chance to win the Breakout title for his first title of his young EBWF career. He did have a previous crack at the title last week, but the match was interfered by Bully Ray, which robbed him the opportunity of capturing the title. He was planning to make the second time a charm in his championship rematch, and he wouldn’t get a better chance to win the championship than tonight as he was taking on Trent Baretta who was coming off of a vicious Hardcore match at the Sacrifice pay per view. The scene was set in the locker room of Evan Bourne as he was seated on the bench in front of his locker room stall, with his face buried in the palms of his hands psyching himself up for his upcoming match. He removes his face from his hands and looks down at the floor while talking to himself.

Evan Bourne
This is it, it’s time to seize the moment and win the Breakout title here tonight. Trent definitely took a beating in his match at the Sacrifice pay per view so I’m going to have to take advantage of that. He’s probably going to be looking to end our match as quickly as possible, because the longer the matches goes on, the more it favours me as he’ll be feeling the effects from his match on Sunday.

Evan gets up from the bench he was sitting on and stretches his arms loosening his muscles as he continues to speak to himself.

Evan Bourne
I don’t think there will be any interference this time around with Bully Ray out of the equation, and I don’t think an honest competitor and a fighting champion like Trent would call upon his tag team partner for help. But with all that being said Zack took quite the sacrifice at the pay per view, so I don’t think he’s in any shape to show up to the arena tonight. However I know for a fact that anything could happen in the wrestling industry, so I’ll have to keep a lookout from the corner of my eye for anything suspicious.

He pauses for a brief moment as he walks up to the mirror and looks at himself, with a look of determination expressed on his face as his fists were clenched in a tight fist, remembering back to the autograph signing he attended a few days ago and what the one fan said to him about not being able to stand on his own two feet and that he could only go as far as any of his allies could watch his back and push him.

Evan Bourne
Tonight, I prove that I can compete at a high level and can win matches where the pressure is at an all time high. Now sure, I’ve lost a few important matches thus far, but all that changes tonight when I walk out of the arena as the NEW Breakout champion, that would make the pain of losing at Sacrifice and failing to close the deal back at my first time match become a distant memory.

Evan ends off by nodding his own head in approval as he vacates his locker room to head out to the ring for his match which was only a few minutes away now.
