After a promotional package featuring the theme song for Christmas Eve of Destruction – Pure Evil by Like a Storm – the camera cut to Joey Styles and Corey Graves at ringside.
Joey Styles: Good evening and welcome to Christmas Eve of Destruction! We are live from the most famous arena in the world... Madison Square Garden! I'm joined by my broadcast colleague, "The Savior of Misbehavior", Corey Graves.
Corey Graves: It's an honor to be here with you tonight, Joey, and what a night we have in store. As always, this is the most hardcore pay per view on the EBWF calendar, and every match will have an extreme stipulation. Joey, I'm sure you'll feel right at home!
Joey Styles: Absolutely! And speaking of extreme, our first match tonight is a Chamber of Extreme match – a first here in EBWF. The ringside area will be surrounded by an eight foot high steel cage, topped with barbed wire. The cage will have a number of weapons attached to the cage, and the winner shall be decided by pinfall or submission.
Corey Graves: Inside the Chamber of Extreme, Roman Reigns will defend the Intercontinental Title against three men who I'm sure will be willing to do whatever it takes to walk out of Madison Square Garden with the gold... Alex Riley, Kevin Owens and the former Intercontinental Champion, Sami Zayn!
"Say It to My Face" by Downstait hit and the crowd gave a mixed reaction as Alex Riley came to the ring, accompanied by The Miz. When Riley was in the ring, "Fight" by CFO$ hit and Owens also received a mixed reaction from the crowd. "Worlds Apart" by CFO$ hit and the crowd inside Madison Square Garden gave a rousing cheer as Sami Zayn stepped out onto the stage. Finally, after Zayn had entered the ring, "S.O.A.R." by Devour the Day hit and the crowd booed loudly as Roman Reigns headed to the ring, accompanied by Paul Heyman. Reigns handed the title to the referee, who held it in the air, took it out of the ring then ordered the Chamber of Extreme to be lowered. The referee ordered The Miz and Paul Heyman to take a step back, to make sure they weren't inside the chamber when the cage was lowered. The camera panned around the cage, showing the various weapons attached to the chamber – including a kendo stick, a fire extinguisher, a 2x4 wrapped in barbed wire, a steel chain and a sledgehammer. Once the chamber was in place, the referee called for the bell. Reigns looked confident, and he challenged each of his three opponents to come at him. Riley ran at Reigns first, but Reigns reacted quickly, taking Riley down with a clothesline. Zayn then went after Reigns, and the two men exchanged right hands, but Reigns overpowered Zayn, then threw him out of the ring. Owens then attacked Reigns from behind, kicking him in the back of the knee, causing Reigns to fall to his knees. Owens then hit a superkick to Reigns. Owens began talking smack to Roman, but Alex Riley got to his feet and attacked Owens, whipping him into the corner. Riley ran at Owens, hitting a corner clothesline, then as Owens staggered out of the corner, Riley hit another clothesline, sending Reigns over the top rope. Riley turned his attention back to Roman Reigns, who was back on his feet. Riley ran at Reigns, taking him down with a high knee, then as Reigns got back to his feet, Riley hit a neckbreaker. Riley hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... kickout!
Joey Styles: Alex Riley is taking the fight to the Intercontinental Champion!
Meanwhile, outside the ring, Kevin Owens had gone after Sami Zayn. Owens and Zayn exchanged punches, and after hitting Zayn with several punches in quick succession, Owens hit Zayn with a knee to the midsection. Owens threw Zayn into the cage, then went to grab the sledgehammer off the chamber wall. Before Owens could retrieve the sledgehammer, Zayn grabbed Owens, slamming his head off the cage. Zayn then grabbed the fire extinguisher, spraying it in Owen's face! Owens cried out in pain and Zayn hit him with the fire extinguisher, then rolled back into the ring. Riley whipped Reigns against the ropes and went for a clothesline, but Reigns ducked out of the way, then rolled Riley up. The referee counted – 1... 2... kickout! Reigns lifted Riley up, hitting a sitout powerbomb! Reigns hooked the legs – 1... 2... Zayn interrupted the count! Zayn pulled Reigns to his feet and went to whip him against the ropes, but Reigns reversed the Irish whip, sending Zayn into the ropes. As Zayn ran back towards him, Reigns went for a Samoan drop, but Zayn countered it with a tornado DDT!
Corey Graves: Great counter by Sami Zayn!
Zayn then hit Reigns with a split-legged moonsault, then hooked the leg. The referee counted – 1... 2... Reigns kicked out! As Zayn got to his feet, Kevin Owens entered the ring with the sledgehammer. Zayn turned to face him, and Owens hit him in the face with the sledgehammer! Owens then turned to Alex Riley, who was back on his feet, and hit Riley in the ribs with the sledgehammer. Riley fell to the mat, clutching his ribs, then rolled out of the ring. Owens turned his attention to Roman Reigns, who was trying to get to his feet. Owens hit Reigns in the back with the sledgehammer, then moved to the corner, removing the top turnbuckle. Owens grabbed Reigns, pulling him to his feet and whipping him into the corner. Reigns cried out in pain as his back hit the exposed turnbuckle, then Owens ran at him, hitting a bodypress. Reigns fell into a sitting position, and Owens hit the cannonball, then hooked the leg. The referee counted – 1... 2... kickout! Owens pulled Reigns to his feet once more, whipping him against the ropes, then hit him with the Pop Up Powerbomb! Before Owens could make the cover, Sami Zayn intervened, grabbing the sledgehammer that Owens had brought into the ring and hitting Owens in the back of the head with it. Zayn then dropped the sledgehammer and whipped Owens into the corner, signalling for the Helluva Kick!
Joey Styles: Zayn is going for the Helluva Kick! We could have a new champion, Corey!
The camera cut to ringside, where The Miz was shouting to Riley from outside the cage. Riley walked over, and The Miz handed him a set of brass knuckles. Riley watched on as the camera cut back to the ring. Zayn ran at Owens, hitting the Helluva Kick! Riley re-entered the ring, and hit Zayn with the brass knuckles! Riley then covered Owens and the referee counted – 1... 2... 3!
Corey Graves: Alex Riley is the new Intercontinental Champion!
Joey Styles: Yeah, thanks to The Miz!
Corey Graves: Nothing wrong with that, Joey! The brass knucks were legal!
As the referee called for the bell, the chamber was lifted up. Riley shouted to Miz, ordering him to grab the Intercontinental Title. Miz obliged, then reluctantly handed the title to Alex Riley. Riley celebrated, then he and Miz made their way to the back.
"Basket Case (Instrumental)" by Green Day hit and the crowd gave a mixed reaction as Matt Sydal and Mark Andrews headed to the ring.
Joey Styles: And here comes Matt Sydal and Mark Andrews, aka Highflying Havoc, challenge The Broken for the EBWF Tag Team Titles.
Corey Graves: These two teams are competing in a "Sadistic Madness" match tonight, which means that before you can pin or submit your opponent, you have to make them bleed.
Joey Styles: I'm sure this sort of match will be right up Havoc's street, Corey.
When Sydal and Andrews had entered the ring, "The Broken" by Lit hit and the crowd booed as Baron Corbin and Jimmy Havoc stepped out onto the stage. Corbin and Havoc made their way down the ramp, and upon entering the ring they held up their gold, taunting Highflying Havoc.
Corey Graves: This is the first of two title matches for Jimmy Havoc tonight, Joey.
The referee took the Tag Titles and held them in the air, then passed them to one of the officials at ringside. The referee called for the bell and Havoc went after Sydal. Havoc hit Sydal with a series of punches, then grabbed him, throwing Sydal out of the ring. Meanwhile, Baron Corbin ran at Mark Andrews, taking him down with a big boot. Corbin stomped on Andrews several times, then moved to the corner, attempting to remove the top turnbuckle pad. Outside the ring, Jimmy Havoc threw Matt Sydal into the ring steps, then looked underneath the ring for a weapon. Havoc pulled a lead pipe out from underneath the ring, but before he could use it, Sydal ran at Havoc, hitting a leg lariat. Sydal then grabbed Jimmy Havoc, throwing him over the ringside barrier into the crowd! Back in the ring, Corbin had removed the turnbuckle pad, and he grabbed Andrews, slamming his head against the exposed turnbuckle, trying to bust him open. Andrews cried out in pain, but Corbin didn't draw blood. Corbin punched Andrews in the head several times, but Sydal came to his partner's aid, entering the ring and hitting Corbin with the lead pipe he had taken from Jimmy Havoc. Andrews and Sydal then hit Corbin with a double suplex, and Sydal grabbed the lead pipe once again, hitting Corbin in the head repeatedly. The repeated blows busted Corbin open, and at the sight of blood, Sydal went to the top rope. Sydal signalled for the Shooting Sydal Press... but before he could hit it, Jimmy Havoc hit him in the back with a steel chair! Sydal lost his balance, and Havoc pushed him off the top rope. Sydal landed awkwardly outside the ring and began clutching his shoulder in pain. Andrews ran at Havoc, going to knock him off the ring apron, but Havoc reacted quickly, blocking the forearm smash from Andrews and grabbing him, slamming his head against the exposed turnbuckle once more. This time, Andrews was busted open! Havoc entered the ring and grabbed Andrews, hitting him with the Acid Rainmaker! He hooked the leg and the referee counted – 1... 2... 3!
Joey Styles: It's over! Jimmy Havoc and Baron Corbin retain the Tag Titles!
Havoc helped Corbin to his feet, then the two men celebrated together.
Christy Hemme: The following match is a Submissions Count Anywhere match and it is for the EBWF Women’s Championship! Introducing first, the challenger...
“Closer” by Lacuna Coil hit and the crowd gave a mixed reaction to the arrival of Natalya.
Christy Hemme: From Calgary, Alberta, Canada! Natalya! And her opponent…
Sasha’s theme hit, and the crowd booed The Mean Girl.
Christy Hemme: …from Boston, Massachusetts, she is the EBWF Women’s Champion, Sasha Banks!
Sasha went to the ring, and she and Natalya both went to opposite corners as the referee held up the women’s championship.
Corey Graves: This matchup is a submissions count anywhere match, the only way to win is for one of this women to get their oppoenent to tap out, technically anywhere the referee can follow them, Joey!
Joey Styles: I hate to say it, Corey, but Natalya might very well have the advantage here.
The bell rang and Natalya and Sasha locked up. Sasha drove Natalya to the corner, and after a clean break, Natalya connected with a series of side headlock takeovers. Natalya quickened the pace with a double leg takedown, and Sasha maneuvered into a rear chin lock.
Corey Graves: Nattie trying to power out here.
Natalya broke the hold with a back elbow to Sasha’s mid section. Natalya with a basement dropkick into the Surfboard Submission hold. The crowd was getting behind the two women when Sasha rolled through to get out of the hold. Natalya sent Sasha to the ring apron and followed through with a discus clothesline knocking her out of the ring.
Joey Styles: And this is why this is my favorite show of the year!
The women began up the ramp, and Sasha chopped Natalya in the chest. Natalya sent Sasha shoulder first into the barricade, and followed up with a series of hard right hands. Sasha’s back was to the wall, and she fought through with a big boot to Natalya’s gut.
Corey Graves: Sasha trying to get something happening here.
Sasha went for the Boston Crab on the ramp, but Natalya countered with the cross armbreaker. Sasha fought out and countered with a sit out power bomb to Natalya onto the ramp.
Joey Styles: Oh. My. God. Natalya is broken in half. Natalya is absolutely broken in half.
Sasha drove her knee epeatedly to the back of Natalya’s thigh, and Natalya flopped to her back only for Sasha to continue the onslaught by stomping on Natalya’s chest. Sasha grabbed Natalya by the hair, causing the referee to yell at her to “Watch the Hair”. She directed Natalya back into the ring, and gave her a suplex that sent Natalya crashing to the bottom rope. Sasha locked on a single leg Boston crab, and yelled for Natalya to tap, but she made it to the ropes, and the hold was broken.
Joey Styles: I thought Nattie was done there!
Natalya got up, and hit a labored german suplex. She didn’t let go of the hold and hit a second, then a third, and then a forth on Sasha. She released her hands on the last suplex, causing Sasha to flop to the corner. The crowd started chanting “Suplex City” and Natalya flipped her hair behind her shoulder dramatically, cause the crow to boo as she got Sasha in the Sharpshooter.
Corey Graves: Sasha is fighting! She’s fighting it!
Sasha battled to the bottom rope, but Natalya gave a big battle cry and yanked her by her leg back to the middle of the ring, and locking the sharpshooter in deep! Sasha Banks tapped.
Joey Styles: We have a new women’s champion. Six years to the day she won her first EBWF Women’s Championship, Natalya becomes a two time EBWF Women’s Champion.
The referee moved to present the belt to Natalya, who snatched it away from him and told him to raise her hand, as a promo package for the next match started.
“If Ya Smelllllllll…”
The crowd was on their feet for the EBWF return of The Great One.
Christy Hemme: This match is a Last Man Standing match! Introducing first, from Miami, Florida, The Rock!
The pop somehow grew louder, but then turned to serious boos as the ten second countdown started and Chris Jericho made his way to the ring. Christy did his introduction as well, and then then the match was set to get underway.
Joey Styles: These men waisting no time!
Jericho and Rock immediately exchanged right hands. Jericho charged at The Rock and went with eight forearms to Rock in the corner. Rock came back with his explosive right hands. Rock chopped Jericho in the chest, earning a “Woooo!” from the Madison Square Garden crowd. Jericho issued multiple chops to Rock’s chest. Jericho hit a running bulldog that sent Rock to the outside. Then Jericho followed up with a suicide dive that sent Rock over the announce table. Rock hit Jericho in the ribs with Corey Graves’ clipboard.
Corey Graves: Hey! That has very important information!
Chris Jericho: Shut up, you stupid idiot!
Jericho sendt Rock back first to the steel ring steps, and the crowd began to boo. Jericho grabbed a kendo stick from under the ring, and he smiled up at before going back to Rock and hitting him with multiple kendo stick shots to the back. Rock fought back with a kick to Jericho’s gut, and charged Jericho in a tackle, sending him straight through one of the barricades and into the crowd. Rock grabbed the kendo stick and proceeded to whack Jericho in the back with the Kendo Stick. Rock broke the Kendo Stick in half and jammed it down Jericho stomach. Rock followed up with a clothesline, and left Jericho on the concrete moving back to the ring. Jericho got back up at the count of five, and Rock went out to meet him.
Joey Styles: Rock thought he had Jericho finished there.
Corey Graves: Going to take more than that to put the most legendary EBWF Superstar of all time down!
Rock drove Jericho back first to the barricade. Rock went over to the time keepers area and broke out a bunch of chairs and tossed a few into the ring. Rock hit Jericho in the back with a steel chair, and then he got into the ring and opened a second chair, taking a seat. Jericho hit a lariat on Rock, and followed up with back elbows to The Great One. Jericho followed up with a back body drop that sent Rock through two chairs in the middle of the ring. Jericho went for the suicide dive, but Rock caught him and drove Jericho back first to the ring apron. Rock Irish whipped Jericho to the steel ring steps. Jericho got up at the count of eight.
Corey Graves: Okay, even I thought it was over there Joey!
Rock took his time bringing out multiple tables and stacked them on top of each other. Jericho got back into the ring.
Joey Styles: I don’t think Jericho knows where he is.
Rock grabbed Chris and started up the turnbuckle with him, intent to push him through the tagged tables. Jericho and Rock brawled on the top rope. Jericho threw a chair at Rock’s face and followed up with quick chop/jab combinations to Rock. Rock broke the momentum with a kick to Jericho’s midsection. Rock went for the Rock Bottom and Jericho countered with the sunset flip. Jericho connected with the Code Breaker and Rock got back up at the count of eight. Jericho hit another Code Breaker to Rock onto a steel chair. Rock rolled out of the ring at the count of nine.
Corey Graves: These two can’t have anything left!
Jericho brought out a table at ringside, and put Rock up on to it. He went to the ring apron, and put rock through the table with a flying elbow. Both men got up at the count of 8. Jericho picked up a chair, and laid multiple chair shots in the back of Rock. Jericho put Rock on the top turnbuckle. Rock did a “bring it” taunt that sent the crowd into a tizzy. Rock hit a belly to back suplex off the top turnbuckle that sent Jericho through a table. Both men got up at the tense count of nine. Rock hit the Rock Bottom on Jericho, and went for the People’s Elbow, but Jericho rolled out of the way! Jericho got to his feet and ate another Rock Bottom as the referee started the count. Rock arranged four chairs that were already in the ring and ended the count by grabbing Jericho up, fighting him to the top turnbuckle only for Jericho to push Rock off of the top rope into the stack of tables at ringside. The referee began his count, the crowd counting along until 10! The bell rang.
Christy Hemme: Here is your winner, Chris Jericho!
Joey Styles: I can’t believe it!
Corey Graves: Chris Jericho has defeated The Rock here tonight.
Christmas Eve of Destruction continued as the latest, brutal match finally came to an end. As fans were rushing back to their seats, they jumped out of them just as quick when GLORIOUS! Hit the PA system and the blue lights focused on stage, awaiting the arrival of Bobby Roode.
Corey Graves: Finally! It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for tonight! CEOD at MSG just wouldn’t be the same without the glorious one!
Joey Styles: Well regardless of what his so-called open challenge has brought, you can’t deny that this raucous New York crowd adore him, although I can’t see why, but let’s hope tonight we have something to talk about for years to come.
Corey Graves: When are we NOT talking about Bobby Roode? He’s had us talking since he announced his return, he’s had us talking since he told us why he’s back, he’s had us talking since he announced his open challenge to put these up and coming talents on the map and he has us talking about this incredible streak of 3 and 0! Tonight will be no different, Joey.
Roode finally emerged on stage with a smug smile on his face, donning a black and white robe with his name stitched at the back, and he showed it off to the cameras.
Christy Hemme: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is an open challenge, scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Weighing in at 235 pounds…the glorious…Bobby Roode!
Fans continued to sing along to his theme as he slowly got into the ring, making sure his robe didn’t touch the steel steps. Christy Hemme handed him the microphone which he grabbed, before holding down the ropes for her to exit. He started to take off his robe, making her carry it to her seat, giving her careful instructions. He circled the ring, staring at the sell-out crowd in the historic arena, before raising his hand to signal to the production guys to stop his music, although the fans kept singing as he started to speak over them.
Bobby Roode: I know what you’re all thinking, all over the advertisements you’re seeing and reading about the matches that are taking place in this glorious arena. The Rock and Chris Jericho, my good friend AJ Styles and Jimmy Havoc and some of the most brutal and confusing stipulations you’ve ever seen. But the one thing that’s been missing…is me. But there’s no need to worry, because Christmas Eve of Destruction inside Madison Square Garden isn’t complete without Bobby Roode stepping into this ring.
The fans cheered as Bobby stared into the camera with a little smile. Before snapping out of it and carrying on as he looked at the titan-tron.
Bobby Roode: Right now, I am 3 and 0 in the EBWF against some of the finest independent stars in the world today. I have done more in the last three weeks than half of the locker room has in their entire, collective careers, especially those that have had to travel to New York and not even appear on the card tonight. So tonight, I dedicate tonight’s match to you…those of that would do anything to have your name called out by me and share this ring with me on such a glorious stage. Unfortunately, somebody has already been picked out and there’s not much I can do about that unless we find him passed out backstage or whether he ran home because all of this was too much for him. But tonight, I’m doing it a little different. I know what you’re all wondering. You’re wondering what sort of opponent will step out through those curtains. Maybe because we’re inside MSG, it’ll be somebody brilliant. I told you all, it’s about giving the less fortunate a chance, so maybe you might see The Rock walk through those curtains. Maybe I’ll even give that little up-and-comer over from the UFC, that…Conor McGregor a chance if he wants to see what it’s like to be in the big time. Tonight I’m not calling all of the shots, instead, I’m getting in the CEOD spirit, and my opponent can come to this ring and tell me which crazy stipulation he wants. I don’t care if we douse this ring in gasoline and set it on fire we have a cage surrounding by a cell wrapped in barbed wire…either way, tonight I’m leaving MSG 4 and 0…and it’s going to be….glorious.
Roode threw the microphone out of the ring and taunted towards the stage, smiling and telling his opponent to come out.
Corey Graves: I wonder who it could be?
Eventually, generic music played once more as fans were left underwhelmed, but still entertained about what was going to come our way. Although, the music continued to play for a while and Roode started to question the referee where his opponent was.
Joey Styles: Yeah, okay, his opponent just randomly chose not to turn up.
Coey Graves: Shut up, Joey! MSG nerves get the better of everyone!
The music stopped and fans then started to boo a little as Roode laughed, with the referee beginning to count to 10, giving Roode a victory. As the count got to 5, Roode shut his eyes and raised his arms by his side, smiling as he soaked in the atmosphere. However, at the 8 count, fans were in for a shock once familiar music started to play as his name appeared on the titan-tron shortly after, as Roode stared at the stage in utter shock and disbelief.
Joey Styles: OH MY GOD! THAT’S SAMOA JOE!
Roode started to shake his head in disagreement, screaming “that’s not him!” at the referee as Samoa Joe emerged on stage and scouted the arena, he didn’t look in the Christmas spirit as he cracked his knuckles and wiped his towel on his forehead, before screaming something as he slowly made his way down the ramp, his eyes fixated on Roode who looked visibly shaken.
Corey Graves: What the hell is he doing here?! You can hear Bobby telling the referee that he’s not his opponent!
Joey Styles: I don’t believe what I’m seeing! Samoa Joe is in the EBWF! Now this is a challenge!
Joe slowly walked up the steel steps as he laughed at Bobby, who tried his best to hide behind the referee, telling him this wasn’t in the contract. Eventually, Joe got into the ring and continued laughing, before Roode stepped forward after building courage and tried to reason with him. Before Roode could talk though, Joe kicked him in the gut to a thunderous pop and lifted him up, hitting a huge Musclebuster in the middle of the ring, before staring at the referee and scaring him as his music hit again, leaving the ring.
Joey Styles: Oh my God! Samoa Joe just laid out Bobby Roode with the Musclebuster!
Corey Graves: What is this? This wasn’t part of the challenge, somebody get that maniac out of the building, he’s just ruined a glorious Christmas for everybody!
Corey Graves: Well, so much for your challenge Corey, I guess you can say the streak is over?!
Joe laughed as he kicked Roode’s arm away and exited the ring, sneering at the fans that booed him before turning back, laughing, and walking off again with Roode still knocked out cold with the referee tending to him.
Joey Styles: Up next, our main event. AJ Styles defends the EBWF World Title against Jimmy Havoc in a TLC4 match!
Corey Graves: The first ever TLC4 match took place one year ago today at this very pay per view, between Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens. Jericho won that match via pinfall, but tonight, the only way to win is to climb the ladder and retrieve the World Title.
The camera cut to the title, which was hanging above the ring. "The Broken" by Lit then hit and the crowd booed as Jimmy Havoc made his way to the ring. Upon entering the ring, Havoc looked up, staring at the championship. "Phenomenal" by CFO$ hit and the crowd cheered as the EBWF World Champion, AJ Styles, stepped out onto the stage. Styles walked down the ramp and entered the ring, staring at Havoc as he did so. Styles pointed up at the EBWF World Title, mouthing the words "It's mine". Havoc responded with the words "We'll see about that". The referee called for the bell and Styles and Havoc charged towards one another, exchanging right hands back and forth. Styles gained the upper hand and he whipped Havoc against the ropes, then hit a dropkick. Both men got to their feet and Styles threw Havoc out of the ring, then followed him to the outside, grabbing a steel chair. Styles hit Havoc in the ribs with the chair, then hit him over the back with it. Styles then grabbed a ladder, and slid it into the ring. As Styles went to re-enter the ring, Havoc grabbed him, throwing him into the ringside barrier. Havoc hit Styles with a knee to the midsection, then grabbed one of the tables at ringside. Havoc set the table up, then grabbed Styles, dragging him towards the table. Havoc went to put Styles on the table, but Styles fought back, then lifted Havoc up, hitting a brainbuster through the table!
Corey Graves: Well it didn't take long for our first table to be broken, Joey!
Styles re-entered the ring and set the ladder up underneath the title, then began climbing the ladder. As Styles was halfway up the ladder, Jimmy Havoc re-entered the ring, carrying a C4 explosive with him. Havoc put the C4 down on the ring mat, then climbed up the ladder after Styles, hitting him with a low blow. Havoc then grabbed Styles, powerbombing him onto the C4! The C4 exploded upon impact.
Joey Styles: Oh my god! Someone get an EMT to check on Styles!
Havoc looked pleased with himself as Styles cried out in pain and rolled away from the exploded C4. Havoc then began climbing the ladder. As Havoc neared the top of the ladder, Styles struggled to his feet. Styles went up the ladder after Havoc, grabbing him by the leg and pulling him down to the mat. Styles set Havoc up for the Styles Clash, but Havoc countered with a back body drop. AJ's back was still sore from being powerbombed onto a C4, and he cried out in pain as he hit the mat. Havoc grabbed the ladder and set it up in the corner of the ring. Havoc then grabbed Styles, going to whip him into the ladder, but Styles reversed the Irish whip, sending Havoc into the ladder! Styles then ran at Havoc and hit him with a corner clothesline, slamming Havoc into the ladder once more. Havoc staggered forwards, and Styles lifted him over his shoulder, hitting a back to belly piledriver. Styles then rolled out of the ring, grabbing a steel chair and a C4.
Corey Graves: I'm not sure what Styles is planning with those, but I'm sure it's nothing good!
Styles re-entered the ring, placing the steel chair on the mat and then placing the C4 on top of it. Styles turned his attention back to Havoc, who was still down on the mat. He went to pull Havoc to his feet, but Havoc was playing possum, and as Styles grabbed him, Havoc poked the World Champion in the eyes. Havoc got to his feet and grabbed Styles, going for the Acid Rainmaker onto the steel chair... but Styles ducked out of the way, then grabbed Havoc from behind, hitting a German suplex. Havoc landed away from the chair, and Styles seemed to decide on another tactic. He took the ladder out of the corner, placing it on the mat. Styles then grabbed Jimmy Havoc, picking him up and hitting a scoop slam onto the ladder. The Phenomenal One then went to the top rope, going for the Spiral Tap... but Havoc moved out of the way!
Joey Styles: AJ Styles took a risk, and it hasn't paid off!
Corey Graves: I'm not sure how much more his back can withstand, Joey!
Havoc dragged Styles to his feet and hit the Acid Rainmaker, then threw him out of the ring. He set the ladder back up underneath the EBWF World Title, then started climbing the ladder. Havoc neared the top of the ladder, and he began to reach for the title. Before he could grab it, AJ Styles re-entered the ring, carrying another steel chair with him. Seeing that Havoc had the World Title within reach, Styles took a gamble, throwing the chair at Havoc. The chair hit Havoc in the back of the head, dazing him. Havoc lost his balance and fell from the ladder... landing on the C4 Styles had placed on top of a steel chair earlier! There was another explosion, and the impact of Havoc falling from the top of the ladder drew a "Holy Shit!" chant from the crowd. Havoc lay motionless on the mat, and Styles looked up at the World Title. He began to climb the ladder, but after climbing to the third step, he looked back at Jimmy Havoc and climbed down again. He pulled Havoc to his feet and hit a Styles Clash onto the steel chair!
Corey Graves: Jimmy Havoc was already out cold... Styles is adding insult to injury here, Joey!
Joey Styles: I think he just wants to make sure he walks out of Madison Square Garden with the World Title, Corey... he doesn't want to take any more chances!
With Havoc well and truly KOed, Styles climbed the ladder and was able to retrieve the title. The referee called for the bell, and "Phenomenal" blasted through the arena as Styles climbed down from the ladder.
Joey Styles: Both of these men but their bodies on the line, but in the end AJ Styles is still the EBWF World Champion.
Havoc was still motionless as Styles celebrated his victory.
Corey Graves: Well that's it from us tonight, but join us on January 2nd for the first Warfare of 2017!
Joey Styles: Happy holidays everybody!
