AJ Styles stood in his locker room dressed in a black, "Better than the Best in the World" hoodie. He looked razor sharp.
Justin Roberts: AJ Styles, tonight you will be facing The Primetime Players with PJ Black as your tag team partner. Titus O'Neal and Darren Young represent Alex Riley's Varsity Club and the man who took you out of the Elimination Chamber in what many considered a shock upset. That's the same match PJ Black won the World Championship. We have to imagine that payback is on your mind seeing as you've been having a string of bad luck in recent weeks.
AJ Styles: That would be an understatement. It wasn't Alex Riley's fault that I got eliminated or was it PJ Black's fault. It was mine. I took them too lightly. PJ Black is the longest reigning Path to Glory Champion in this company's history. And what did I have to say about him? I said he was a virgin. And he made me pay for that. Alex Riley's Varsity Club has made me pay for that. Now? I've had nothing to think about but disappointing that audience and having them watch me get my ass kicked in that ring over and over again. It's not... going to happen... again.
Styles turned to the camera to speak directly into it.
AJ Styles: PJ Black. Varsity Club. Thank you for the wake up call. Thank you for the kick in the ass. I plan on repaying you all tonight. No, I'm not going to go out there and shake hands with PJ Black. And I'm not going to raise his arm in a sign of respect. No. I'm going to go out there win this match without any fucking help and afterwards I'll proceed to tear his head clean off his shoulders. You all have my full and undivided attention now. I want everything back! This isn't going to be pretty. This isn't going to be fun. It's going to be like a starving wolf, a big bad wolf, coming across a wounded rabbit. Welcome... to the food chain.
Roberts gave an appreciative nod before walking off to end the scene, leaving Styles to prepare.
